I keep getting surprised by discovering folks I’d lost track of in the Great Pseudo-Nuke where I lost about 2/3 of my follows.
Part happy to find them again, part sad I lost them for a while and didn’t think to realize why.
I put a lot of effort into vetting folks; for some accounts, reading all posts and replies 1-2 weeks back is a significant amount of work. Losing the results of that effort really sucks.
All this to say, I should really go back up my profile 🤔
Considering I’ve already played some with listr.lol maybe that’s the way to go.
This happened a while ago and I think it was explained to me, but my mind is usually a sieve for technical details.
#asknostr anyone use stainless steel baking sheets (no nonstick, no enamel or ceramic coating) that stay flat at high oven heat? My most used temp is 375 F but I’d be more comfortable if it could go much higher without warping.
I’m very ready for new baking sheets 😅 I use them for EVERYTHING
#cooking
I hear them go “bang!” after I put them in the oven and then they’re bent diagonally 😂 I suppose it could be because of the temperature difference there, too.
That’s what I love about cherry tomatoes 😁
Yeah I would harvest solanums well into fall as well when I had a garden. And the cherry tomatoes naturalized in my apartment complex (which I tried growing in a container this year) are still bearing loads of fruit, as they did last year right up to frost.
So what I do day to day:
Brave browser has a search tabs function, at least on mobile. I make tons of use out of that.
What I do from time to time (more seldom than I should):
Go through all my tabs, close ones I really no longer need (always surprised how many of those there are), and send the URLs of the rest to myself in Signal.
I miss having a really good bookmarks system, but lost momentum a couple computers ago; besides, I now have three devices to coordinate across, and I like being able to use Signal’s searchable Note to Self on all of them.
How did you meet your best friends?
How did you meet the friends you spend most of your time with and enjoy being around?
Do you have any good friends you met later in life?
#friendship #asknostr
Mostly why I asked is I know an older person who has not kept strong ties with their friends and is feeling really lonely now. They’re finally trying to get out of their shell, but not very satisfied with their progress, and still very lonely. I’m wondering what kinds of things to recommend they do that they aren’t already doing.
I found my husband on OkC too, but got off the site in the midst of Covid; they were starting to make some odd changes at the time, but as far as I know it’s still the best one.
There’s a lot of room for improvement, but it did work for me and @boatingaccident
Oops, too late now! Haha
Idk, I’ve seen so much garlic fermented in honey, it must be ok. It looks like whole cloves to me. I recently tasted some of the infused honey and it was really good.
Last night during @Companions Corner I made my first attempt at hot honey!
It will probably ferment some, so I gave it lots of headspace to bubble up.
IIRC, thanks to @Filou for telling me rough proportions by weight of honey:other stuff.
This is a pound of unheated, unsprayed Virginia dandelion honey combined with ~2.5 oz mixed garlic and shallots (I cut garlic ends off after weighing and replaced a guess at that mass with 1/8 tsp organic cumin seeds), 0.05 oz mixed mint and thyme from my friend’s garden, and 2.45 oz mixed organic shishito and serrano peppers (as non-green as I could find).
Smells amazing 🤤

I think the difference is in our microbiome. A study I heard about showed that the gut microbiome of recent immigrants assimilates to that of their new country very quickly, I think it was within a couple of weeks, even if they continue to eat their own cultural foods. Their microbiomes lose a lot of species diversity so quickly.
Conversely, you and I had the same exact experience living in China. We quickly went the other way and probably had healthier microbiomes while we were there. I always find it very easy to maintain a healthy weight while I’m there, among other benefits.
Glyphosphate is just one of the underlying problems. It disrupts mineral uptake of plants as well as plant and human microbiomes. For sure other industrial farming practices are involved, that’s just an easy one.
I’m nuts about pistachios
Have you ever found pistachio cream? There’s an Italian store near me selling it. Could be divine added into the buttercream…
Just seeing this now. Tuesdays at 8:30 pm EST we meet on Cornychat. You can check out #nostrbiblestudy for updates. You’re welcome to join!

The normal people I talk to don’t think about transaction time. To them, Bitcoin is either:
1. An unpredictable investment
2. A scam
3. Evil ocean-burning capitalist decadence
