Nostr, how do you make grilled cheese sandwiches? With butter, olive oil, or mayonnaise? I'm a butter maxi, myself. https://i.nostr.build/o8ivdI6kvxckPqNh.jpg
All of the above :-)
Do you really like them all? A few years ago, my friends had a grilled cheese party where we made them with all 3 and all different cheeses. The consensus was that butter was superior, olive oil was an easy second, and mayo was inferior to the other two.
Butter, but you butter the outside of the bread and put the cheese on the inside, this way it gives it a good crust and melts the cheese well.
How'd I do, boss? https://i.nostr.build/d1PMscxwNjRfEGTe.jpg
🍆🧈
Hmm.
is margarine crazy? 😅😭
Yes.
yes, too much water inside. But some people like cleaning their kitchen after making a sandwich 🤣
Only butter. Never mayo.
I had never heard of people using mayo until a couple of years ago 🤯
Same, it’s crazy town.
Good Rule of thumb, don't add mayo to literally anything! 🤣
Some people make mayo and peanut butter sandwiches, gross. 🤮🤢
I can't unsee this! 🤢
That's because you're not using the metric system 😉
We use odd numbers and units to confuse the Europeans.
I like olive oil, so mayo. Guess I'm weird 🤣
mayonnaise has become the preferred method
Interesting. Why?
Mayo should be a war crime
Isn’t there a clinic for that?
You must be a father making a joke like that

Mayo is just a crime in general, dare you to list one thing that tastes better with mayo.
Guacamole
Since when does guacamole need mayo?
Yo dawg i heard you like fat so we added an oily fat to your oily fat in order to get more oily fat taste
Haha 🤣, true though. Why not add some butter while ya at it?
Homemade mashed potatoes
Better to add cream and butter than mayo though.
Mashed potatoes without butter is a tragedy
Have you ever made aligot?
I don’t think I’ve ever read that word
https://www.simplefrenchcooking.com/recipe-entry/cheesy-yummy-potatoes-pommes-aligot
Looks interesting
For a second I thought you were saying potatoes alligator 🤣
Sounds like a Florida delicacy 🤌🏼
Also good, but needs to be made snappy
"Florida man catches alligator with his bare hands and turns it into a classic Florida dish"
preach
Not if you have braising liquid to use as a sauce 😎
Chicken
butter unless you have cold pressed olive oil from Andalusia 😋
olive oil maxi here 🫡
Of course you are. You're at the source!!!
I didn't choose the olive oil life, the olive oil life chose me 😹
we should sell it on nostr. we'd be rich
Do you mean some people add Mayo instead of Oil/Butter. Also, even Oil doesn’t work well with this. IMO
Some people use butter on the bread, some people use olive oil on the bread, and some people use mayonnaise on the bread. They're using all three as an oil or fat to brown the bread and stop the bread from burning.
Interesting. Never knew that’s a thing. I don’t even know what happens to mayo when heated. 😂
Melts and liquefies
Going off the theme here, *but* slather some mayo on chicken and toss it in some seasoned panko or regular breadcrumbs and bake it for super moist "fried" chicken without the mess.
This actually sounds interesting 🤔 using mayo instead of egg. May have to give it a go sometime.
Not just heated; it’s being used as a medium for frying which is conveniently spreadable on the bread. Just heated, mayo is disgusting 😂
That’s why I’m in shock. 🤣 To me, Mayo has always been a cold condiment. But I guess in this case, there won’t be any Mayo left at the end.
Correct. It is a thin swipe that gets absorbed into the bread. You’re essentially frying in a mix of oil and egg yolk fats with a little extra flavoring, and it doesn’t run on the rest of the pan to burn there wasted.
Damn it. I’m making grilled cheese now… with mayo.
Butter / olive oil combo
You'd feel much better with one of these tasty vegan options and you'd be a better person; https://peasandcrayons.com/vegan-grilled-cheese-recipes/
It looks good, but also sounds nasty. No thank you, Really Shit Advice.
real bread, natural tomato and olive oil is best🐸 https://m.primal.net/JLdk.png
I used oatmeal bread 🤤
Butter and you didn't put enough on this bread sir
It's oatmeal bread.
But yes I literally just tossed butter in the skillet and swirled the bread around on it after it melted. 😬
Mayonnaise, multiple cheeses, on a hamburger bun. Hamburger buns work so much better than regular bread. If you are feeling adventurous add pickles. The tart breaks up the grease
Sir you're going to have to stop commenting on my notes with crazy talk like this.
I’m throwing pearls before swine
Is that a type of sandwich?
Oh man pickles! Brilliant!
Dill pickles placed ontop of a grilled cheese is epic. Game changer. 🔥
If we’re talking what to put INSIDE a grilled cheese besides cheese: A thin mandolined slice of apple or two Maybe a little ham or Lebanon bologna 😚👌
I cook up some ham in a skillet with some soy sauce and honey , then add the cheese, cooks up perfect and it’s so cheap! Whammo
This becomes a teriyaki ham and cheese?
Pretty much, it’s tasty though!
Roast suckling ham and cheese? 🔥
D with the hard hitting questions this morning ! Ya I’m a butter maxi too but now I kinda want to add mayo and maybe tomato 🍅
Waaaaaat? V, plz. We are friends. I can't let you do this.
I'll definitely will bake it with butter. Try kimchi with your toastie 🇰🇷
Kimchi grilled cheese is amazing! My favorite BBQ restaurant actually sells them. You can get them with chopped bbq pork in them, too. A full meal 💪
I don't.
I went so many years without having them but my kids like them and sometimes I love being a kid myself and dunking my grilled cheese into tomato bisque 🤤
Butter is better
With butter. On a fire.
Butter, ham and onions.
These are good additions
Add mortadella next next
Ghee
Awesome. I was wondering if someone was going to say this.
Here me out. Try Mayo. It's good. I still usually do butter, but it truly works quite well with mayo.
I tried it once, because I was curious. Yes it's easy, but I don't like the taste as much.
I dont eat them, but for the children, here is my protocol: -lightly toast the slices of bread; -add thick slices of cheese; -spread butter on both sides of sandwich; -sprinkle sea salt on both sides; -heat cast iron skillet; -grill both sides until golden brown; -slice sandwich diagonally; -serve with cold glass whole milk. 🫡
🧈 is best
Smokey tallow from my last brisket
Duuuuhuhude 🤩
butter, lotion of the gods!
Butter! On both sides of each slice! 🤩
Yaaaas
Hi, there are wild swings in bitcoin price. Do you know any reliable person who I can follow to copy his trades to make profit on it?
Most of us don't care about the price, don't look at it, don't trade, and don't try to make a profit. We just smash buy. The goal isn't to get more fiat for tomorrow. The goal is to have more bitcoin. It's a scarce asset. Most aren't looking to sell, unless they have to pay fiat bills because they live on a Bitcoin Standard.
Sir, you’re talking to a spam bot 😂
account was probably recently compromised https://m.primal.net/JLsB.png
Everyone's gotta learn 🥹
No Sir, I am not a bot . I accept that I sent this message to few knowledgeable folks so that I can get an answer but I am not a bot. If you don't believe , we can do video call. I am thankful to you that you take out your time to help me !!!
Sir, I have a very strong belief in Bitcoin. sometime a thought comes like when Bitcoin was all-time high at more than 70k. if we convert some of them to stable coin just to convert back when the price comes to 50k, will it not be a good strategy?

Organic mayo if I have one open, which is super rare. Otherwise butter. BUT I recently discovered frying bread in sausage grease is AWESOME and I bet it would beat all other options Will try someday
Butter on the outside of the bread, mayo on the inside of the breat, muenster or gruyere in the middle 🤤
Homemade avocado oil mayo
Butter
Olive oil
Butter if it's warm/spreadable otherwise mayo
Butter all the way, about 30 years ago, someone showed me you simply melt the butter in the pan first then butter both sides of the bread. Game changer. Why wasn't I taught this day one? In Kansas: "Toasted Cheese" In Minnesota: "Grilled Cheese"
Now I'm hungry again 😅 I mostly do it with butter
Absolutely butter.
Butter for the win.
Why the hell would someone use mayo?!? Lol wtf
Butter.
bacon grease
