I need to take a nap. gn all, we'll solve world hunger when I wake up
No changes will be made without plenty of warning, so nobody should be panicking.

If NAS hurts the show, then renaming the instance or shuttering it are the only options.

I'd like to provide a "home" for everyone and maintain community, but we're all here because of the show. Renaming the instance may not be the correct course of action. Scheduled sunset and an entirely new server (for those who want) may be best.

There are no good choices, only choices I can live with.

Need to sleep on it.
"New York Jews 'feel like they are being hunted down' on global 'day of rage'"

Imagine how the civilians/prisoners in the open-air concentration camp in Gaza feel as the Israeli government drops ordinance everywhere, you absolute fucking lunatics.

The number of American pundits I've seen saying "oy gevalt, I'm being persecuted!" while cheering on the Israeli government's imprisonment and subsequent genocide is gut wrenching.

YOU'RE AN AMERICAN WARMONGER IN NEW YORK.

YOU ARE FILTH.
 I'm here all week, folks.
The last inter-server drama incident was more than 24 hours ago.

The drama tax is going up. I demand more.

@0af78396 I don't want to see any civilians die in attacks as a result of decades of violence by tyrannical governments. However the Zionist state will always use whatever means necessary to secure their authority, and they'll justify it to their citizens and the world with religion. Same as the ones attacking them.

I have nothing but disdain for religious zealotry used as justification for war and evil.

@41d7b3fb I don't think anything was stolen. The Zionists in America have no problem giving that shit up willingly; arguably those people are the traitors, not the ones they serve in Israel. Who did Israel sell nuclear secrets to?

@41d7b3fb well, first of all they can't be traitors because they don't owe allegiance to America or Ukraine. Second, AFAIK Israel has no formal treaty with the US. This is important given Israel's never-discussed foreign policy to nuke all their allies if Zionists fall.

So are the Zionists in Congress going to launder more money through Israel now, since the public is sick of Ukraine?

It'd be a classic American move: fund the Nazis in Ukraine AND the Jews in Israel.
This is also very convenient for Supreme Leader Netanyahu.

I wonder if they'll publish pictures of him reading books to kindergartners while men in suits whisper in his ears too.
@7502a322 Yeah it's never made sense to me why steroids are stigmatized in any setting other than competitive sports.

It's free gains. Why would anyone not in a comparative competition not take that? They're very safe if used (not abused) correctly AFAIK.
The only downside to all Americans exercising their second amendment right to carry a firearm is that almost horror movies become implausible.

I was watching Crawl earlier this evening while working on something. The plot is centered around gators fuckin' up a daughter and father.

If either of those retards had a gun, the movie would be 10m long. Maybe 20m if they include the part where they turn the hides into boots and purses or something.
nostr:npub18994crjwnldrukwym5lz3y2nae84s84v20m2rkngtjnyg549lr6qvxmd6m how tall is the fence? My ...
@6350630e 48" is enough to stop them. You don't need to fence in a large area to keep them out: just a small circle around the tree itself. They can't jump over it because there isn't enough room on the inside for them to fit, so they won't. The point is just to keep them from rutting on the tree, not to keep them out of an enclosed area.

That said, I've never seen a deer jump over an 8' fence. 6' sure, but not 8'. Is someone putting steroids in a deer feeder around there?
I got four of the apple trees into the ground yesterday, four more to go tomorrow.

Also need to take a trip to Tractor Supply to buy some welded wire fence to deer-proof the trees. I brushed one of our dogs near the trees this evening hoping it'll buy me a day, but I'm not risking it any longer than that.

Fuck deer, giant-ass good for nothing rats with antlers.
@7ea6f088 Ya, that's the Caduceus / staff of Hermes.

The bottom right image is the Rod of Asclepius, which is the correct medical symbol. The twin serpents on the rod is the Caduceus; a symbol of Hermes, the Greek God of traders, gamblers, liars, and thieves.

@a153a841 well it worked that time, eh?
@a153a841 If you can get it to fail with a 500, I need to see the response from the failing /api/v2/media POST in the inspector's network tab, not just the list of requests.

Otherwise until I get a complaint from a second person, I'm assuming this is a caching issue or something on your end. I'm unable to reproduce the problem.

@a153a841 nah, the whole FS is read only. Only writeable locations are mounted tmpfs', but for whatever reason it was trying to write files to the wrong directory. Should be fixed now.
I'm still working on fixing image uploads. I'm not sure why those aren't working and logs aren't helpful.
Things should be getting back to normal now.

Something changed somewhere (maybe in the last update and I just never noticed, or maybe the default container ENV changed, not sure), and the result was that all temporary files were trying to be written to an incorrect directory (/opt/mastodon instead of /opt/mastodon/tmp).

The container filesystem is read-only which made those writes fail. They then entered the retry queue which backed up ~1.2m items.

I've triaged and fixed the root cause.
I planted the two pear trees today (Keiffer and Bosc). One of them is very sad and possibly dead, so we'll see what it looks like come next spring.

I'd like to get them all in the ground within the next two weeks so that they have some time to root down before it gets colder and dormancy starts to set in.

Bing and Stella cherry trees go in tomorrow, then I'll start on the many varieties of apple trees.
@93672b44 yeah, good song. Warframe is a fun game. Been a long time since I've played but I may put a couple of hours into it once I get all my work and trees into the ground :)

@cc6b825c cowed cowards is why it's all so fucked up.

Be not led by fear but by righteous duty, lest we all become chattel slaves of the state.
You are never obligated to answer questions.

Unless you live in a stop-and-ID state, you have no obligation to provide them your name or ID unless they have Reasonable Articulable Suspicion that you have or are about to commit a crime.

You have the right to resist an unlawful arrest.

You have the right to film in public spaces; they cannot trespass your eyes.

You do not have to comply with any request or unlawful orders.

Detainment without RAS is illegal.

Fuck tyrant scum.
How to guarantee I won't purchase alcohol from your restaurant:

list only drinks, no prices.

When I go to new places, I look at the drink menu and if they don't have prices listed, I inform the waiter (politely) that the owner/manager is scum and I leave.

@eaa154b7 pivotal moments of government tyranny aren’t distractions of the week. If you think 9/11 and Sandy Hook were mere distractions of the week, I have a nice grilled boot for you to eat.
The patriot act was ready to be implemented before 9/11 happened
9/11 was the implementation of a surveillance state.

Sandy Hook was the attempt to implement a police state (with gun surrenders and confiscations as the prerequisite).

Someone recently showed me a clip I hadn’t seen before of three “FBI” agents walking around, wherein the rear “agent” was flagging the officers in front with his rifle as they walked: something and actor unfamiliar with firearms might do.

Piqued my interest

*** Please link me Sandy Hook videos from deep in your bookmarks ***
I grow tired of corporate media and distractions of the week.

I've been busy and haven't listened to the last few weeks of NA and I'm realizing that I don't miss listening to propaganda, even when played with the intention to mock and belittle.

I'm completely disinterested in anything the corporate media is trying to huck.

They have no credibility. Nobody with sense believes anything they say or write.

@313d0358 nah you're good; I celebrated when McCain died, the corrupt warmongering fuck.

Some politicians go into office with principle and ideals, but almost all exit office (one way or another) as sick, corrupt shitheels. The number of exceptions to that rule in the last fifty years American politics can be counted on less than half of one hand.

They can't hear you speak ill of them if they're dead, and the corrupt ones didn't listen or care when they were alive. Fuck 'em.
 6) Do you think legal tender laws in the US are constitutional?
 7) Do you think that the government (Federal and State) valuing your time at $0/hr for the purposes of income tax is legitimate? The current definition of income tax, a tax on gains above and beyond what you previously, only makes logical sense in the current implementation if the government values your time and labor is valued at $0, thus allowing governments to impose a tax on the entirety of pay received as a trade for labor. Is "income" defined statutorily differently than I've described?
 1) Government derives authority from the consent of the governed. Do you believe that a Union (of States) can be held together involuntarily? If states express explicit non-consent, a desire to secede, and are subsequently met with violence (1861), does that government have authority by the consent of the governed? If so, by what measure is that consent determined?

1.1) What recourse do the people have to express non-consent?
 2) Do you believe that Marbury v Madison (1803) was correctly and legitimately decided? Do you believe an unelected oligopoly (the Supreme Court) has the bona fide Constitutional authority to legislate from the bench and impose their will over the entirety of the nation, beyond the parties named and present before the court?

2.1) Is there anything that prevents Congress from reducing the number of Supreme Court justices to a single appointee?
I had the opportunity to speak to a retired MD state attorney (prosecutor) a few days ago.

I asked him a question about consent of the governed and he told me to email him my questions instead.

Well I did, and unsurprisingly I haven't heard back.

And yeah, he's not going to answer my questions because to do so honestly would likely shatter his entire world view.

The questions included in the thread below.

@93672b44 @f47c4255 no idea about the whey. I for sure dream, I just only remember a still image and a vague plot when I wake if I remember anything at all.

There is no way I could lucid dream. I’ve only ever had a “first person” dream once in my life, and like I said I usually don’t remember shit about to dream, lol. I recall dreams so rarely (once a month, maybe) that I find dreaming off-putting and disturbing.

If I could take a magic pill and never remember my dreams ever again, I’d do it.
 nostr:npub18994crjwnldrukwym5lz3y2nae84s84v20m2rkngtjnyg549lr6qvxmd6m nostr:npub1737yy4gk7lfhec4p...
@93672b44 @f47c4255 Same. If I remember anything, it's usually one still image and a general plot. For whatever reason, if I eat tropical-flavored whey powder I remember more of my dream.

I've only ever had one first-person dream (that I remembered when I woke) in my life.

It was extremely uncomfortable and I hated it. I like my dreamless sleep, thank you very much. I already live in one Hell, I don't need more of it every 24hrs.
I was at a (firearms related) training this evening and someone said “If you don’t vote, you don’t have any right to complain”

I brought up the 18th and 21st amendments and the fact that now the government just does whatever they want. I said “shall not be infringed” is constantly ignored without repercussions.

I didn’t mention the King-Supreme Kangaroo courts or vexatious prosecution. I didn’t even bring up how rigged “voting” for our masters is.

*sigh*

I’m tired, boss.

@65573fdf no way. I do endorse Saddleback Leather Co wallets, though. Very high quality. I've had mine for almost a decade and it's still as nice as the day I got it. Granted that I put leather milk on it bi-annually and take care of it, but still.

Unfortunately I checked their site and I don't think they make (or at least stock) the tri-fold wallet that I have.

@102f91ef @Alex Gleason yes, it was a joke lol. Don't worry @Alex Gleason, I'm too cheap to mail you a free Saddleback leather wallet, and I wouldn't be caught dead purchasing vegan cookies.
I'm pretty sure that @Alex Gleason isn't actually a vegan, but he's played the con for so long that I genuinely can't tell.

I think the only way to know for sure is to make brownies and go buy pussy-vegan cookies, inject both with tracer chemicals, then check wastewater reports.

Or I could mail him a Saddleback Leather wallet, then stake out his house and tip off the police that he's a dangerous criminal and see what he produces when they ask him for his ID. Nobody can resist a quality leather wallet.
 @669563d8 psh, they're not looting.

They're just citizens seizing assets that they believe may be connected to criminal activity.

The Police department and Lululemon just need to pay them $600 in processing fees and then wait six-eighteen months for their request to be processed.

@opal hart I don't really know what you're asking here. I know a few versions back that Mastodon removed the "Toot!" button and replaced it with "Publish" or something. I wrote some small CSS for NAS to revert that behavior and return the "Toot!" button: https://noagendasocial.com/custom.css

Pedophilia. Pedophilia is why.
we used to have contrasted backgrounds for DMs now we don't and it sucks :(
@anime graf mays 🛰️🪐 Yeah Mastodon has contrasting colors for the bg too. IIRC it's always had that, but it wasn't as obvious as the "Private mention" text and icon at the top now.

A feature in Mastodon v4.2.0 that went unnoticed by me until now: DMs now highlight the fact that they're DMs.

Previously I always had to make a conscious effort to look at the icon to see if content was public or not. Now it goes out of the way to make you aware if a post is a DM. Nifty.

My brother in Christ, just reduce your target size proportional to the distance.

The curvature of the Earth or whatever bullshit calculation you’re trying to make does not matter over the extra 100yds. The Fudds are right; you’re an idiot.

Go home and wash your 5.11’s and the fishing vest a few times to see if you can get the smell of stupid out.

 4) Do you believe that Maryland juries should be (permitted to be) explicitly instructed about Jury nullification, as Article 23 of the Maryland Constitution would suggest?

(emphasis below is mine)

> Art. 23. In the trial of all criminal cases, __the Jury shall be the Judges of Law__, as well as of fact, except that the Court may pass upon the sufficiency of the evidence to sustain a conviction.

@55bca1bf I have a limited resource; time. I trade that time to others for value ("money"). The government imposes a tax on the entirety of the receiving end of the trade saying it is "income". Income, to my knowledge, isn't statutorily defined. But it means gains above and beyond your basis. A *trade* of my time for value isn't a gain; I've lost time. The value of basis remains the same on both sides of the transaction because I've voluntarily traded one for the other.

"Taxation" is theft.

@9595301e the holes out front were soft topsoil. The clay pit where I plan to plant the rest is where I’ll likely run into issues and require more than a shovel. I’m shoveling out as much as I can by hand regardless; just got lucky that out front I was able to dig 24” down without issue.
