anybody here ever deal with an outer ear infection?
entire right side of face is sore + can't hear anything. Taking oral antibiotics + ear drops for 2 days, hardly any difference.
shit is driving me insane especially considering half my job is sound mixing...
The ear canal is fully swollen but I am not getting any symptoms of middle ear infection yet (balance, ruptured ear drum etc.). Basically just symptoms of "swimmer's ear" even though I haven't been swimming.
Tried the onion thing twice, didn't do much of anything - the thing with that too is you have to drain it/clean out after an hour too as it can risk creating some food for the bacteria too.
Day 4 on antibiotics and not much progress on unplugging my ear, but at least the pain had dulled down a bit.

why not just be very selective of your sponsors? for me it's a 2 way street - they are not only making what you do possible, but it gives you a chance to elevate some truly amazing entrepreneurs and their visions to a new audience. 90% of sponsors will NOT be this - but taking risks and vice-versa with small/family businesses and elevating what they do has been extremely fulfilling

Only way to get creators to talk about NOSTR is to actually get them adopting it... I am one in maybe a few dozen video creators in GENERAL using it daily
by far the worst part of the Nostr experience is trying to find known contacts.
NOSTR fans are doing themselves a massive disservice telling the public "oh it works for me, just try a different client I guess"
we either need a much better solution for identifiers on a protocol level (NIP-05 or whatever is not doing it) or we need an encouraged standard across clients, that, upon download or setup, LINKS twitter/other social media data to your Nostr NPUB and links you up through that. Get community to vote + verify profile connections to add social credibility
I'm not a dev so I don't know the solution/tradeoff but to this day I cannot find the people I want without an NPUB, and that is just not a usable format

Amethyst, Iris, Plebstr, Nostrudel, pretty much all the good android + web options have awful search unless you are a massive account like @LynAlden or @jb55

Localbitcoins used to be my jam. Bisq and robosats had garbage liquidity when I tried them 3 months ago. Hardly more than 20k CAD of depth before +/- 10% swings

Not having a single client adequately be able to search people by @ NIP names (or even NPUBs sometimes) is, without a doubt, the biggest hurdle NOSTR adoption faces.

I think in order to take on traditional social media, we have to play a bit of offense on their home turf.
@fiatjaf has been kind enough to send me some sats to run a trial Facebook + Instagram marketing campaign on my NOSTR 60s short (link in comments of this post) to see if we can get some data on who tracks best to the appeal of NOSTR.

A few notes:
1. Since I can only specify one URL for the campaign, and the fewest steps possible is generally the best route for ad conversion, I have linked to the Plebstr client's main website (plebstr.com). There are some other amazing guides and resources for getting started with NOSTR but this one to me felt like it had the biggest appeal and quickest pathway to getting a new NOSTR user from FB/Insta. Open to other suggestions.

I like the getnostr.xyz homepage - I think that's what needed most, a simple, linear page to walk people through learning about it as an open protocol.
But I almost want to push people towards one or two options rather than give them a dozen for clients... I get that it is against the "spirit" of NOSTR but from a conversion standpoint having to make a decision on what client to use based on a few little icons is daunting/would turn most off.
It'd be cool if there was a page similar to this that ranked clients based on user reviews (I also get that would trend towards consolidation, but maybe a simple explainer that says "your NSEC/NPUB travels with you - you're never forced to use one client" would help with this?)
