@e7e139ac
A grief stricken, heartbroken family has lost a husband, father & a son. 😥
Muzzle ALL dogs in public, & save innocent human lives. It's that simple fella. 🤷🏾♂️
@5f0bba87
It needs to be done. At least some positives will come from Hunter Biden's legal grief.
Let's see how eager the #GOP are to prosecute him if it leads to calls for tighter gun controls. 🤷🏾♂️
@e7e139ac
The victim's name is Ian Price, 52. He lived on the street he was mailed to death on, & died trying to protect his elderly Mum, who was initially attacked by the two dogs.
Let that sink in when you're defending the rights of dogs... 😓
@e7e139ac
OR politicians are wary of upsetting the nations dog owners pre-general election. 🤷🏾♂️
Compulsory muzzles are as simple a solution as you can get.
@e7e139ac
It's simple. We both agree compulsory muzzle's will stop injuries & save lives
It's not me putting caveats into the conversation, excusing dogs & placing all responsibility on dog owners
Are dog owners setting their animals on people? In almost all cases no
This shows that even the best trained dogs can attack without notice. A muzzle stops anyone coming to harm
It's a case of priorities. My thoughts are with the girl who was savaged, & the man who was almost eaten alive 😓
@e7e139ac
Trading standards over muzzle quality, a stiff prison sentence & the destruction of the dog would be a powerful motivator I think... 🤷🏾♂️
Imagine being that deadam's family today & being unwilling to do the one cheap & easy thing that would've saved his life? 🤔
@e7e139ac
Several dog experts have attested that even the most highly trained, & well controlled dog can attack for a variety of reasons.
5% of their day with a muzzled to save children & adults being killed & partially eaten... 😳
@e7e139ac
Yes! When the dogs are out in public. When at home 95% of the day, the dog can be unmuzzled as much as the owner likes.
I just don't see the problem with that?
@e7e139ac
Mate the government's job is to make law things that benefit us all.
Should it be left to the driver, how fast to drive?
Why shouldn't we all be allowed to carry guns? Guns don't kill, people do? 🤷🏾♂️
Dya see my logic?
Some may think it cruel they can't drive as fast as they like. Others that they can't openly carry firearms.
We have laws to protect the general populous, not just to suit specific individuals.
Days later, I'm still not getting putting mutts above man? 🤷🏾♂️
@e7e139ac
How do you control dogs like these whose instinct it is to chase prey, attack & kill?
A muzzle, & we've have had 4 less people with dog bites & one more person alive this week mate... 🤷🏾♂️
@e7e139ac
My point is if the dogs were muzzled, at best the poor man would have had a sore bum & maybe some paw scratches as they knocked him down.
They near ate him mate! 😳
@f34801da
I want everyone to realise that WE have the power! WE outnumber THEM 10 - 1, but it's they who're organised & control ALL the key positions of statutory power behind our politics.
Doris promoted & emploed his own to maintain the status quo, but we can dismantle these crooked quango's with a plan.
The UK's Centre right. The last 100 years, the Libs held power for 1 year, Lab 28 (13 under Blair/Brown), & 71 under the #Tories.
Understand this. We understand how to regain & KEEP power.

I'm weary! Just when I think the UK's fortunes can't get any worse, more bad new arrives saying "Hold my beer"!
Sunak's weak, out of ideas & Fascist #Farage is goose-stepping again over Horizon & Labour's Channel crossings plan
Let's connect to #GTTO before we have no UK left! 🤷🏾♂️

@664dc63f
The one thing #Starmer has acknowledged is to make change, you first need power, otherwise all you are is an ideological opposition talking shop.
This is first & foremost, so #Labour are walking a political tightrope to ensure little gets in the way of that main objective
Just look at the #Tory reaction today when #Starmer visited Europol to have a grown up conversation about Channel crossings!
They claim he's planning to throw UK borders open to all migrants & reverse #Brexit
https://files.mastodon.online/media_attachments/files/111/065/360/763/796/805/original/f153c03662af5e55.jpg
@664dc63f
The #EU's the flipside of the #Brexit issue.
Today, #Starmer embarked on a global statesman-like tour to the Hague, a #Progressive conference in #Canada & a meeting with #Macron in #France which will surely put the noses of the #Tories & #Sunak out of place.
Tackling Brexit, the EU & #Immigration is shaky ground for #Labour. Labour know this, hence why they've avoided being specific about these touchy subjects, but to do it now shows a level of confidence by Starmer.
2/ What's #Starmer said on #Brexit?
"There's currently no case for rejoining the #EU, so #Labour will focus on making Brexit work better".
The operative word is CURRENTLY!
How can Brexit be better without rejoining the EU? Closer alignment with the Single Market & Customs Union. It's implied!
The only thing we'll miss is a seat at the EU table. Rejoining will unfortunately be a battle to be fought by the next generation, as the UK doesn't have the stomach for another bruising Brexit battle

@e7e139ac
We'll have to agree to disagree. I was savaged as a time by two border collies. No one would class them as dangerous dogs, but hey, they've got as much rights to freedom as children in the minds of some I suppose? 🤷🏾♂️
@003ec114@b6548392
Richard Murphy advised #Corbyn & advocated #MMT, the Modern Monetary Theory. All credibility he had to comment on realistic high level fiscal/economic policy fizzled away with #Labour's #GE2024 fortunes
I followed him on #Xitter & I remember his advocacy of MMT. HOWEVER, 3 preeminent economists joined the discussion & pointed out the failings & pitfalls of MMT
What did Richard do? He scarpered! 😳 No defence of his doctrine, he just legged it without response 🏃
@003ec114
1/ What you must do Bev is look at the world we're in today, not the one where you were 18. There's little comparison.
Everyone is terrified of what the future holds, but any incoming party MUST govern for all, & not just their support base as the #Tories have mostly done.
Talking to a few far left loon recently, you know their No 1 strategy? A HUGE wealth tax on the rich!
@003ec114
2/ Then there's Hunt's pre-election strategy. Fund triple lock pensions by cutting benefits, as it's the wealthy elderly who mostly vote Tory
This brutal partisan politics has to stop! We need to govern for all. I've no interest in seeing the wealthy stripped of their riches, so I can benefit. That's just the politics of envy
I merely want fairness, a good job & a chance for my kids to afford a decent house in a good area that doesn't amount to more than 3 times their salary
@003ec114

#UK #China #Brexit #EU #Tories
🚨*The #Chinese respond to the UK's #Spy allegations*🚨
The influence of #GlobalBritain has been further flushed down the geo-political u-bend with this stinging attack!
In a sobering & forthright interview, China no longer views the UK as a competitor or rival. We're just one of several important markets where they sell their goods.
They're so far ahead of the UK, we're merely a colonial annoyance, with diminishing relevance in 2023.
How did it come to this? 😳

@003ec114
Just trust the process Bev, & don't fall for the left's narrative that the only way to get things done is through fire, fight, protest, civil disobedience & taxing the crap out of the rich
There's another way, which doesn't terrify moderates, swing voters, business & our workforce. #Starmer's playing an obvious game of not giving the #Tories a sniff
The #CONservatives want to revive the ghosts of #Brexit & #Taxation & fight #GE2024 on those battlegrounds. #Labour's wisened up
@2117c13d
I see little difference in a thug walking the streets with a knife, or with a huge drooling brute of a killer dog.
Both present a clear & present danger to life, & those defending these captive wild animals, just beggars belief mate. 🤷🏾♂️
@bf986c33
What harm does muzzling a dog do to it?
Are you placing a dog's enjoyment & comfort above the safety of that poor 11 year old child who was brutally savaged? 🤔
Look at the video again mate, & look at how she staggered away crying & turn to shreds. If not for the onlookers, the big drooling brute would have partially eaten her!
These dogs are bred to attack, fatally maim & kill, hence why they go for the arm to bring their prey down, so they can go for the neck.
You call this a pet? 😳
@b870d4c8@a8a3ca9d@ee4cb8b5@02439a38
Nope. Miliband changed the leadership process to one person one vote.
Momentum was then formed within the far left fringe of #Labour & went on an insane far left membership drive
#Corbyn threw his hat in the Leadership ring, & the unlikeliest of outsider candidates became Labour leader
Because of this coup, Labour have since changed their rules. Members can't take part in candidate selection voting, until they've been in the party for 6 months.
@86d896d8@b870d4c8
I'm happy to stand corrected. Admittedly I've not looked into this aspect in great detail, but I'm aware of Labour, Lib Dem & Green complaints that the reshaping of boundaries favoured the Tories, especially in rural areas.
Apologies if it was incorrect of me to liken it to the crazy situation in the US. 🙏🏾
@ee4cb8b5@8c2ace29@a8a3ca9d@02439a38@b870d4c8
1/ Finally, you've actually offered a solution as opposed to bellyaching about #Starmer! 🙄
You've FINALLY accepted Starmer's view that it would be political madness to just dump the private sector, without an alternative in place.
So a question to you. How long will your process take? 🤔
@ee4cb8b5@8c2ace29@a8a3ca9d@02439a38@b870d4c8
2/ The UK's skint, so please tell me where the additional money will come from to reduce waiting lists, if we don't divert money away from the NHS to the private sector who currently have spare capacity?
Fund the NHS properly using what money? 🤔
Mate the UK's SKINT, & has a debt/GDP ratio of 101.1%. Where's the money coming from? 🤷🏾♂️
@ee4cb8b5@8c2ace29@a8a3ca9d@02439a38@b870d4c8

@b870d4c8@a8a3ca9d@ee4cb8b5@02439a38
To a degree, but there are thousands on the far left who describe themselves as #Anarchists & #UrbanWarriors.
Wherever there's social discord & a protest march, they're there. They love a protest & a fight!
They think sitting down & formulating a plan is boring. Why do that when you can organise a huge protest march, have #Corbyn as a keynote speaker, whilst Drum & Bass is banging away in the background.
There's a festival community of them. 🤷🏾♂️
@ee4cb8b5@8c2ace29@a8a3ca9d@02439a38@b870d4c8
No. It was #Starmer's response to the #Tories accusing him of wanting to open the immigration floodgates, hence why everyone should vote #Tory to protect Brexit.
So in the short-term, Labour suggest targeted immigration to urgently fill NHS vacancies, but his long-term aim is to train UK workers to fill these voids, thus reducing the UK's reliance on oversea workers.
We're battleing with the Tories on many fronts, immigration be just one
@b870d4c8@a8a3ca9d@ee4cb8b5@02439a38
Your last paragraph is it. Thousands of them are like political sleeper agents. They have the right to vote, but aren't members of any political party per se. It's the hardcore who form the membership of these tiny parties.
I looked into it on #Twitter when in discussion with the far left. Several of them explained their "Left Wave" numbers, & how they can effect voting.
But because they're dispersed everywhere, they more mouth than a real force
@b870d4c8@a8a3ca9d@ee4cb8b5@02439a38
Mate, they're independently small in number, but it's estimated they add up to 500k if added together
Also remember, many of their activists aren't registered with any political party. They mobilise where & when needed
This is why they're so laughable! They are so loud, vociferous & vocal, yet they can't organise themselves into one coherent political force
Instead the choose to infest social media bellyaching about Sir Keir #Starmer & #Labour🙄
@ee4cb8b5@8c2ace29@a8a3ca9d@02439a38@b870d4c8
1/ Mate, people are DYING whilst waiting for treatment! 🙄
You've two choices.
1. Leave waiting lists high & make the NHS staffing worse by immidiately cutting out the private sector.
2. Get people treated, & if that means targeted immigration to fill NHS vacancies & extending private sector involvement in the short/medium term, then so be it.
These are the only two practical & realistic options available to us.
@ee4cb8b5@8c2ace29@a8a3ca9d@02439a38@b870d4c8
2/ #Starmer has already tackled this issue. Statistically it could take up to 18 years to have permanent UK only residents working within the NHS, & to remove all vestiges of the private sector.
These are empirical, independently verified figures, which show how long it will realistically take to reverse 13 years of criminal Tory mismanagement, & the destruction of our public services & utility infrastructure
Now tell me your alternative
@7ec78d4a@ee4cb8b5@a8a3ca9d@02439a38@b870d4c8
Agreed 100%!
All of a sudden, moderate Centrists are the bad guys of our polarised #UK politics
Both Doris & Jezza vacated the centre of UK politics. Thankfully #Labour have retaken it, alongside the #LibDems & the #Greens
Rishi #Sunak desperately wants to move to the centre, but he's hamstrung by the extremist ERG who're still calling the shots in the #Tory party
Sunak's policy of appeasement to their far right is hampering the #Tories
@ee4cb8b5@8c2ace29@a8a3ca9d@02439a38@b870d4c8

@b911dfdd
You'll get no arguments from me, but the whole campaign from the barefaced lies, to the dog whistles waving the far right in to support #Brexit became unbearably toxic for too many people to contemplate going through this again.
Families, friends & work colleagues fell out over it, & the issue divided the nation. Now we've seen the utter shit show Brexit's become, those seduced by it's immigration, border control, prosperity & "Sovrinty" promises, can now see it for the con it is. 🤷🏾♂️
@ee4cb8b5@8c2ace29@a8a3ca9d@02439a38@b870d4c8
"research found that over six in 10 people are calling for the wealthy to pay higher taxes, including over half (53 percent) of Tory voters in 2019."
Who mentioned 2019 AND 2017 first Oliver? 🤔
So taxing the rich wasn't a winner for Corbyn then?
There's an elephant in the room. Every poll, #Labour canvassers & the public said it wasn't Labour's message, it was the messenger.
Will you ever add Corbyn to your "Why Labour lost" list?" 🤔
