 @0f342e77 you said "all dogs" now you're narrowing your focus only to "brutes" "killers" I honestly know nothing about these "Bully XLs" but suspect at least part of the problem is the sort of owners they attract. Once again I'm not denying that serious dog attacks aren't horrific. I'm saying that the responsibility lies with the owner and being cruel to all dogs is a disproportionate and misdirected response that would likely increase rather than decrease canine aggression.
 @e7e139ac

We'll have to agree to disagree. I was savaged as a time by two border collies. No one would class them as dangerous dogs, but hey, they've got as much rights to freedom as children in the minds of some I suppose? 🤷🏾‍♂️

🚨Man savaged by 2 dogs on Thursday, DEAD!🚨

Several people aided the victim & managed to contain the animals, while police prevented children leaving a nearby primary school for safety reasons

#NHS: "On arrival we found a man who'd sustained multiple life-threatening injuries & was in a critical condition, & we administered advanced life support & trauma care

Despite our best efforts he was confirmed deceased at the hospital"

Worth it for a muzzle? 🤔

🚨Sunak: American Bully XL Dogs to be banned!🚨

1/ Announcing the move, the prime minister said he "shared the nation's horror" at such attacks and that it cannot be allowed to continue.

Sunak was responding to the latest incident in which a man died after being savaged by 2 dogs in Staffordshire on Thursday.

"It is clear this is not about a handful of badly trained dogs, it's a pattern of behaviour & it cannot go on.

2/ Sunak: Owners have a responsibility to keep their dogs under control.

Now comes the sticky bit... How dya identify an XL Bully & distinguish it from a Staff, Pitbull or Cane Corso? 🤔

You tell me? 🤷🏾‍♂️

All this death & savagery for sale of a blummin muzzle outdoors? 😳

 @0f342e77 Terrible, the owner should be prosecuted for murder/manslaughter. The dogs should probably be destroyed. Your suggestion was that all dogs should be muzzled in public. The reports states the attack took place "outside a property" If the dogs had been allowed to escape rather than taken out in public then I have to question whether your suggestion would have made any difference in this circumstance.
 @e7e139ac

They didn't escape, they were outside the property with the owner. 🤷🏾‍♂️
 @0f342e77 OK I didn't see that in the link you posted. Leaning more towards murder than manslaughter if that's the case.
 @e7e139ac

My point is if the dogs were muzzled, at best the poor man would have had a sore bum & maybe some paw scratches as they knocked him down.

They near ate him mate! 😳
 @0f342e77 I agree. It sounds very much like those dogs should have been controlled better. With a muzzle, on a lead or better trained. In this case it sounds a lot like the muzzle could well have been the best choice. But the responsibility for that lies with the owner. Not you, not me not the government but the owner who neglected to control his dogs in a suitable manner. The government dictates that dogs must be controlled. It doesn't prescribe a one size fits all method of doing so.
 @e7e139ac

How do you control dogs like these whose instinct it is to chase prey, attack & kill?

A muzzle, & we've have had 4 less people with dog bites & one more person alive this week mate... 🤷🏾‍♂️
 @0f342e77 that's not up to me. If a muzzle is the best way then it's the owner's responsibility to make that choice. My responsibility is to make the right choice where my dog is concerned. And if I'm going for a run then she's tethered to me. If we're playing fetch down the park then she has good recall and I'll keep close eye on her call her away before she gets too interested in any footballs. Putting a muzzle on her in those circumstances would cruel and pointless.
 @0f342e77 "A muzzle, & we've have had 4 less people with dog bites & one more person alive this week mate..." Actually I think it'd be three muzzles. And you're probably right. But what you're suggesting is not a muzzle or three muzzles but 13 million muzzles applied indiscriminately without thought or consideration for individual circumstances.
 @e7e139ac

Yes! When the dogs are out in public. When at home 95% of the day, the dog can be unmuzzled as much as the owner likes.

I just don't see the problem with that?
 @0f342e77 "I just don't see the problem with that?" Well I doubt explaining it again will help but here goes. If I go for a run with my dog inappropriately muzzled then she could die of overheating. Sure, fuck the dog, you were mauled so you don't care about dogs suffering, but a negligent owner causing their dog to overheat was likely a contributary factor in the attack on the girl earlier this week.
 @e7e139ac

How will the dog overheat? If the muzzle's too small, buy one with a bigger aperture? 🤷🏾‍♂️
 @0f342e77 oh I absolutely would use a full pant if I were forced to muzzle a dog by an idiotic law that didn't see being tethered to a creature 7 times your mass as being sufficient control. But I can't guarantee that the rest of the country wouldn't buy the cheapest flimsiest masks they could get away with.
 @e7e139ac

Trading standards over muzzle quality, a stiff prison sentence & the destruction of the dog would be a powerful motivator I think... 🤷🏾‍♂️

Imagine being that deadam's family today & being unwilling to do the one cheap & easy thing that would've saved his life? 🤔
 @0f342e77 There are many different things that the dog owner could have done. Quite likely a muzzle would have been best. But you don't get to pick that thing and say it's the best option for all. I'm not saying those dogs shouldn't have been muzzled. If they were classed as dangerous but exempt, then it would be the law for them. I am agreeing all dogs should be under control in public just it's not for you to choose how. I'm glad because in many cases your restrictive choice is stupid.
 @e7e139ac

We'll agree to disagree mate.

Dogs over kids... 😓
 @0f342e77 seriously if the only way you can find to argue your point is to claim I'm saying things I've specifically said I'm not saying then you don't need me to be part of the conversation. You're absolutely not disagreeing with me when you say kids are more important than dogs. Go and "agree to disagree" with your imaginary person who says those things but don't expect me to put up with you ascribing such sentiments to me.
 @e7e139ac

It's simple. We both agree compulsory muzzle's will stop injuries & save lives

It's not me putting caveats into the conversation, excusing dogs & placing all responsibility on dog owners

Are dog owners setting their animals on people? In almost all cases no

This shows that even the best trained dogs can attack without notice. A muzzle stops anyone coming to harm

It's a case of priorities. My thoughts are with the girl who was savaged, & the man who was almost eaten alive 😓
 @0f342e77 “Beware of people preaching simple solutions to complex problems. If the answer was easy someone more intelligent would have thought of it a long time ago – complex problems invariably require complex and difficult solutions.” — Steve Herbert
 @e7e139ac

OR politicians are wary of upsetting the nations dog owners pre-general election. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Compulsory muzzles are as simple a solution as you can get.
 @0f342e77 Yup that's what I said. A simple solution. So simple that you can't imagine there being a better and more effective one. And as for the government being wary of upsetting dog owners. The dangerous dogs act is a go to example of rushed knee jerk legislation. It's what the Tories do best, find a distracting scapegoat and be performatively cruel to it.
 @e7e139ac

The victim's name is Ian Price, 52. He lived on the street he was mailed to death on, & died trying to protect his elderly Mum, who was initially attacked by the two dogs.

Let that sink in when you're defending the rights of dogs... 😓
 @0f342e77 It's not worth repeating what I've already said. If you don't get it by now it's because you don't want to hear it. You're wrong about me, insulting me for no reason but you don't care about that. Bye now.
 @e7e139ac

A grief stricken, heartbroken family has lost a husband, father & a son. 😥

Muzzle ALL dogs in public, & save innocent human lives. It's that simple fella. 🤷🏾‍♂️
 @e7e139ac

Mate the government's job is to make law things that benefit us all.

Should it be left to the driver, how fast to drive?

Why shouldn't we all be allowed to carry guns? Guns don't kill, people do? 🤷🏾‍♂️

Dya see my logic?

Some may think it cruel they can't drive as fast as they like. Others that they can't openly carry firearms.

We have laws to protect the general populous, not just to suit specific individuals.

Days later, I'm still not getting putting mutts above man? 🤷🏾‍♂️
 @0f342e77 days later you still don't get that I don't put dogs about people. On the contrary. It's you that are holding the dogs responsible for the owners negligence by suggesting control methods that may be harmful and damaging to the dogs in certain circumstances.
 @e7e139ac

Several dog experts have attested that even the most highly trained, & well controlled dog can attack for a variety of reasons.

5% of their day with a muzzled to save children & adults being killed & partially eaten... 😳
