Modern cars get worse and worse.
Much like food and education, a ubiquitous pillar of daily life has been targeted for hamstringing.
Unlike food and education, there aren’t many solutions for cars besides “only buy old ones.”
This plan has the major problems of entropy and limited supply.
Are there any other ideas? Is anyone working on alternatives?

I’m just thinking that I’ve noticed Primal has a backlog sometimes. I’ll open it up and it’s only stuff from hours ago. It sometimes doesn’t update for a whole day.
If you were using Primal I’d say just wait around and use another client in the meantime while you wait for it to catch up. I use both Primal and Damus daily now.
They are so good and native to this area! I wish I knew where there was a patch I could direct you to. I bought these.

It’s the fruit of a tree native to my area that tastes very tropical and delicious. Because they don’t keep or travel well, you have to find them yourself or know someone who has them; they’re not commercially available.

Some people say they have a mango flavor note, but I think it’s overwhelmingly like a combination of banana and cherimoya or soursop. There’s a lot of variety, too. One of these is a little savory and has a cherry note, and the other is maybe a little vanilla-like.

This is probably the sweetest food my baby has ever tried; she only had a banana for the first time last week. She clearly LOVES pawpaw.
You may want to plan a trip to the southeastern U.S./Canada for when these are in season! You’re unlikely to be able to try them otherwise, as they don’t keep or ship well.
I think some states have a pawpaw festival which would probably be a good bet!

I WAS just going to eat the six ones fresh. But now I have enough for fresh eating… and ice cream!
Time to inaugurate my ice cream maker! The last time I made any was years ago, borrowing my friend’s machine.
I probably will still have some left over after that 😅 I hear the pulp freezes well, so maybe that. Or I could try making a pawpaw “pudding” recipe my friend made which is more of an eggy cake. Not my fav texture or appearance but the flavor really did shine through and it was very nice.

Now that I can take a breath, there are two recurring voice chats I would like to set up:
— Bible study in Corny Chat.
Start in the New Testament and focus on Jesus; frequently refer back to the Old Testament for context. Informal and lots of audience participation. Bring whatever translation you like and we’ll be comparing.
Probably weekly.
I am thinking Tuesday evenings New York time. Depending on time of day, there may be one meeting a week I can’t attend (because of a conflicting computer meeting 7-8 pm); if there is a conflict, I’d encourage everyone to meet anyway and pray during that time.
A 24/7 prayer room where someone is always in is a stretch goal of mine, one I feel strongly about 😊
— Mandarin-English conversation space. The point is to be able to stop anyone at any time to explain a word, grammatical structure, idiom, etc. for the sake of language improvement.
Space TBD, possibly nests.
How often and when: also TBD. Mondays (New York time zone) at various times work great for me.
It might be tricky to find a good time for everyone with the half-planetary time difference, but I know it can be done!
