This is almost Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. The people willingly give up their individuality for the sake of pleasure. 

 Came here to say something like this 

 Never fear! Big Brother, his scary sister, and way too many taxpayer funded people are watching. Hmmm. Then again,  fear might be the most reasonable attitude.  

 Amazing, that had never been a thought of mine.  Absolutely spot on.

Also just thinking, a camera to help define words that cannot be used and or words that have meanings that need to change and or that represents the World as new and not just deranged.
