Aristotle: art and poetry, based on his book Poetics. (Repost from early 2023)
The below quote is from Will Durant as he attempts to encapsulate Aristotle's view on art:
https://i.imgur.com/tJYuxa6.jpg
When I came across this statement from Will Durant I decided to re-read Aristotle's Poetics to see how representative it was.
Aristotle studied at Plato's Academy in Athens, which brings continuity from Socrates -> Plato -> Aristotle.
Plato:
"And when someone honors beauty more than virtue, this constitutes nothing other than a real and thorough dishonoring of the soul" // Plato, Laws, Book B, 727d.
Socrates and Plato held an often times contemptful view of the poet or artist, expressed on several occasions in Plato's Republic.
This is likely because the artist was viewed as an imitator, in the negative sense. Reality is of course of higher value than any imitation. We might add to this that Socrates was sometimes ridiculed by contemporary poets.
Another point of irritation for Socrates was when poets celebrated and waxed sentimental over unethical men and portrayed them as heroes. It is possible that this latter case was Socrates' primary annoyance with the art of poetry.
Aristotle:
"What aims at reality is better than what aims at appearance".
// Aristotle, Rhetoric, Book I, 1365-b.
While there is overlap here between Aristotle and Plato there is also a clear divide. Plato is mainly concerned with ethics whereas Aristotle is more fascinated with analysis and substance. The ethics is obvious to Aristotle, what interests him even more is the practical considerations that can be made.
Aristotle continues:
"What a man wants to be, is better than what a man wants to seem (to be), for in aiming at that he is aiming more at reality".
Here Plato would focus on the ethical reasoning of 'being rather than seeming', while Aristotle is primarily occupied with the alignment to reality. For Aristotle, actions define us and it is through action that we realize our potentials. This in turn requires aims that are followed through - a fully practical process that does not involve pretense, but instead work and sweat. The point for Aristotle is not to spend time despising others for being unethical, but to inspire the proper practical achievement.
"And it is also natural for all to delight in works of imitation."
/ Aristotle, Poetics, Chap 3, 1448-b-9
Aristotle's remark here relates to delighting in realistic representations of things. He points out that we learn something from observing a realistic imitation.
Aristotle continues by observing that 'learning' is the 'greatest of pleasures'. He expands to say that 'gathering the meaning of things' is a part of what he is referring to by learning.
There is in Aristotle a focus on substance that isn't isolated to exterior appearance, but rather to attain some form of understanding of what we are observing.
In the artform of Tragedy, Aristotle counts six parts, where he highlights the Plot.
"And again: the most powerful elements of attraction in Tragedy, the Peripeties and Discoveries, are parts of the Plot".
/ Aristotle, Poetics, Chap 6, 1461.33
He continues:
"We maintain, therefore, that the first essential, the life and soul, so to speak, of Tragedy is the Plot".
Aristotle then lists Characters as the second most important part of the Tragedy art form:
"Characters come second - compare the parallel in painting, where the most beautiful colours laid on without order will not give one the same pleasure as a simple black-and-white sketch of a portrait".
There is in Aristotle a focus on actions, meaning and realism. Beautiful, decorative details are less important than capturing the true essence of something.
It is the plot and characters that makes the story significant to us, not the dramaturgical expressions on a stage; the Spectacle.
"The Spectacle, though an attraction, is the least artistic of all the parts, and has least to do with the art of poetry. The tragic effect is quite possible without a public performance and actors."
/ Aristotle, Poetics, Chap 6, 1450.b.16
"From what we have said it will be seen that the poet's function is to describe, not the thing that has happened, but a kind of thing that might happen."
/ Aristotle, Poetics, Chap 7, 1451.a.35
There is attention to realism in terms of artistic plausibility, while not necessarily an exact imitation.
He continues:
"Hence poetry is something more philosophic and of graver import than history, since its statements are of the nature rather of universals, whereas those of history are singulars".
Art builds upon timeless principles that can be understood intuitively and metaphorically, whereas history is locked into specifics.
"It is evident from the above that the poet must be more the poet of his stories or Plots than of his verses".
Again, Aristotle is looking at the meaningful significance of actions, plot and characters, rather than the exact outward format of the verse.
"Of simple Plots and actions, the episodic are the worst. I call a Plot episodic when there is neither probability nor necessity in the sequence of its episodes".
Improbable elements in a story are serious flaws for Aristotle. This is also an extension of his realism.
"The Plot in fact should be so framed that, even without seeing the things take place, he who simply hears the account of them shall be filled with horror and pity at the incidents."
/ Aristotle, Poetics, Chap 14, 1453.b.3
This is worth some reflection. Aristotle attempts to identify some kind of markers at this point by which we can identify a gripping plot. In short, it must stand on its own legs. This is yet another example of Aristotle's focus on the inner workings of a story or plot over the outward expression.
His realism is attuned to the inner, psychological motivations and plausible depictions of these, rather than merely ornamental or visual effects.
"The tragic pleasure is that of pity and fear, and the poet has to produce it by a work of imitation".
This perfectly encapulates Aristotle's positive use of the term imitation. The imitation he is talking about is an alignment with realistic internal realms, and how those can extend to the audience and create a meaningful experience.
"A likely impossibility is always preferable to an unconvincing possibility.
The story should never be made up of improbable incidents; there should be nothing of the sort in it."
/ Aristotle, Poetics, Chap 24, 1460.a.26
"Any impossibilities there may be in his description of things are faults.
But from another point of view they are justifiable, if they serve the end of poetry itself - if they make the effect of either that portion of the work or some other portion more astounding"
(1460.b.23)
This is where Aristotle shines, as he's playing the devil's advocate against his own argument.
While he is not yielding from his fiercely anchores principles, he is offering an alternative solution. If the artistic expression benefits it is possible depart from these strict guidelines.
At the end of the day, a compelling result is what matters.
In conclusion, I think it's fair to attribute the quote to Will Durant, as an interpretative summary of Aristotle on art. The inward significance is clearly highlighted in Aristotle. With some nuances.
Thank you for reading.

Great to have you here Logan. It is uplifting to see more focus on literature and art.
I reposted an earlier text I wrote on Aristotle, art and poetry.
nostr:nevent1qqs26a9ues66t9j4ngh3x7epvya6reqyhe8d2n5wyqe74rduhnkx7pcpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezumt0d5hsygpr6jfegcf9s4cxcu5s3f0rjp8e29m75zrmqvkahlxjsc3sf37esvpsgqqqqqqs0rftxm
Great overview Logan.
When the quest for truth and reason is abandoned, when the concept of free will and individual sovereign decisionmaking is replaced by determinism and the belief that humans are merely a sum of their inputs, the logical outcome is an ideology that values power over truth.
Those that believe that they cannot change the minds of others via truthful argumentation will arrive at the conclusion that the power to set the standards is the only method of attaining ethical behaviors; via nudging and programming.
CBDCs and social credit scores is the logical destination of determinism, since there is an inherent assumption that the only realization of ethical behaviors is an external re-programming with values and ideals that have been stamped by the bureau as correct and appropriate.
Political correctness emerged as an assumed path to an ideological paradise where all injustices are believed to be conquered, if only, and this minor detail aside, if only everyone accept and practice the enlightened re-programming of political correctness, communicated by central planners and received at the mountain of higher wisdom, to achieve this necessary utopia.
Central planning being the root of totalitarianism didn't stop this quest for absolute power, perhaps because the imagined worst case alternative was the absolute power of some other group with a worse ideological framing.
Yet now we are witnessing the emergence of decentralization as a potent force involving game theory mechanics.
Property rights for all could suddenly be attained at a protocol level. Jurisdictions will now have to compete for capital and resources by providing and securing individual liberties.
The game has changed in favor of allowing liberty, private property rights, sovereign individuals and the decentralized quest for truth to emerge as a greater movement.
The future is determined by individuals, not by a centrally planned utopia designed by committees. A world where all risks are eliminated is an existence where all liberties have been dismantled.
Give me a life of risk and infinite possibilities rather than a prison of bureaucratic intentions.
Nowadays 21 is a normal zap but in the beginning there were many 1,000 - 20,000 sat zaps.
Kinda cool to think about that 1 sat will be worth more than $1 at some point.
Good ideas and interesting project you have going.
I was considering a secondary form of hashtags: funded hashtags.
Funded hashtags would be funded with let's say 10 sats. This would act as a cost barrier that reduces spam. Perhaps the relays that pick up notes with funded hashtags could gain a percentage of the sat funding.
While I hate pay-to-win features, spam will become an increasing problem and if the cost for funded hashtags is not expensive it might work.
From a European perspective, I think that the establishment found it easier to implement the UN Agenda 21 under the banner of Social Democracy + alliances with Green parties.
As a result there is a general overlap between social democrat parties and the establishment, vs populist parties and anti-establishment movements.
This makes sense when we consider taxes, schooling, environmental policies, property rights, media control, moneyprinting in exchange for votes et cetera. These are all easier to achieve from a social democrat platform, even if there are authoritarian overlaps with the more extreme religious conservatives.
Yup.
Add that we would need at least two private keys to have proper control over our Nostr identity.
One key for regular login/signing and the master key for admin privileges that override the general key in case our regular key is compromised.
I never understood why the Nostr devs decided for risking a single point of failure.
I could add that a single private key is not how I would design a free speech protocol.
If it were up to me I would use a set of at least two private keys, one for regular Nostr use and one for admin control of the identity. If the regular key is compromized, the admin key could be used to regain control over the content.
I hope Nostr will become the free speech protocol we need.
Perhaps, but if we look at the data above, the rejection of MSM sources extend over decades.
I'm not American so the 'Republican' label here in Europe would overlap more with populists and the anti-establishment movement.
The UN Agenda 21 was signed by 179 nations in Rio de Janeiro back in 1992. If we want to analyze the operative system of the "establishment" we can simply review the policies (code) that Agenda 21 involves. It is a very comprehensive plan for the 21st century involving a false "sustainability" program, which was inspired by Club of Rome as they were searching for reasons to implement global regulations. A climate scare fitted the bill.
Since it was easier for the establishment to achieve the Agenda 21 goals on a social-democrat platform, this is likely why we are seeing an overlap between republicans/conservatives and anti-establishment movements for the past 30+ years.
There are a couple of things here to unpack.
1. In Sweden, the Social Democrats governed for over half a century until 1974. This made them + their collaborating party VpK (the communist party) the uniparty of Sweden and their dominance has since then been held by its control of institutions, education and government owned media.
2. If we are discussing Trump, he has been notoriously demonised by the governments + media in most Western countries for 8+ years. If yoh haven't lived in Sweden, Norway or other European countries you wpuld probably not be aware of how coordimated the establishment is across continents.
I wrote a note where I bring up some of the reasons why Trump is viewed as an enemy by the establishment. One major reason is him pulling the US out of the Paris climate accord in 2017. This combined with his pro-energy stance set him on a collision cpurse with the UN Agenda 21 establishment.
3. Boris is a part of the establishment, correct.
nostr:nevent1qqsp9yqfd02fltzdxg8qxjcj5un2ng2t92lrvk92kleurn2uwfcu4ycpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzvuhsygpr6jfegcf9s4cxcu5s3f0rjp8e29m75zrmqvkahlxjsc3sf37esvpsgqqqqqqsjaxpvh
Don't you find it hard to believe the logic that the media in a dozen Western countries would demonize Trump for 8+ years, charge him with crimes, only to give him a political victory over a political candidate that the establishment controls?
Sorry, I find this extremely implausible. Even if we assumed such a scenario, wouldn't there be a risk of unknown candidates that could beat Trump?
Spending 8 years demonizing a person that you secretly support is not going to happen across a dozen nations, their governments + government owned media.
We can probably find a number of flaws with Trump but he is obviously not favored by tge establishment. If it were up to me I'd rather see a Vivek Ramaswamy in charge of the US.
Sorry, that doesn't even make strategic sense.
If I wanted to implement Agenda 21 + Agenda 2030, I would install a candidate like Joe Biden or Kamala Harris. Not someone that is pro-energy and antithetical to the climate alarmism agenda.
I understand their strategies which is why I focus on the UN Agenda 21. It's not hard to understand once you study the code (Agenda 21) and put your mind into their shoes.
The benefit of Nostr is the long format, over the compacted micro format of Twitter.
A few books I can recommend before I head out with my wife.
1. Time's Arrow, 1991 by Martin Amis.
The story in this book takes place in the reverse. The protagonist is a doctor that is introduced to the reader at old age and he is experiencing a backwards aging every day.
His relationships may start with a painful feeling on his chin, until he meets a lady at a restaurant that he never saw before, experiencing how she removes the pain on his face with a reversed slap.
It has a number of humorous parts in spite of the serious topics. The book opens up a different way of thinking about causality. Everything we do is filled with what we fill ourselves with.
2. The mirror in the mirror, 1984, by Michael Ende.
This book reads like an abstract painting and reaches out with a number of short stories that leaves pause for reflection.
Michael Ende is perhaps more known for his book The Never Ending Story but here he compacts his visual thinking into a series of poetic and dreamlike meditations.
It was also interesting to see the polling results from the Republican side.
https://image.nostr.build/87c11486596b6eefe5892b283d39410fd06d17b8d809562214c3fd9331377c55.jpg
While both sides have vested interests in presenting polls that put them in a favorable light, the most rational approach is to present the figures as they are in order to device strategies to improve the ratings. Skewing the poll numbers is a risky tactic that only makes sense for the MSM.
The high number of undecided voters are more likely Trump- (or RFK jr) aligned than Kamala-aligned since there is tangible establishment-crafted stigmatization associated with Trump (8 years of smearing in a dozen Western nations) but no MSM-created stigma associated with Kamala.
I'm not competent in regards to cryptography but on the top off my mind I would ask this:
Would it be secure enough to use a 24 word seedphrase as a "master key" while allowing signing posts and accessing data using the first 12 words?
Alternatively, to double the security: a 48 word seedphrase master key with a 24 word signing requirement.
Nostr suggestion.
2 layers of security:
Full-key (24 or 48 words)
Half-key (12 or 24 words)
Half-key would mean the first half of the words of the full-key.
At half-key level of security we can sign messages and do most things we can now.
At full-key level of security we can flag our profile as compromised, as well as deleting all half-key-signed notes after a date yy-mm-dd.
I guess we could also allow the deletion of all our notes at the full-key level.
Usage: the regular user would normallt use the half-key to access their Nostr profile and sign notes.
When/if the half-key is hacked/stolen, the user can flag their profile as compromised and set all new half-key-signed notes to be deleted. The user can now post messages with their full-key and explain what happened, create a new Nostr profile and guide their friends there.
The thief with half-key access would have their half-key-signed notes deleted due to the compromisation flag.
When we don't oppose harmful policies, we will sooner or later be hit by those policies, or by some permutation thereof, either directly or indirectly.

"The free market constitutes an information-gathering process, able to call up, and put to use, widely dispersed information that no central planning agency, let alone any individual, could know as a whole, possess or control."

Yup. Central planners believe that society can be likened to a car that they can just drive as they please and that the vehicle is just a passive chunk of metal that exist to be moved from A to some destination B that bureaucrats have decided in advance.
In reality a society is more akin to an archipelago of ecosystems with emergent properties, a collaboration of sovereign, free agents with individual liberties and private property rights.
More freedom = greater prosperity.
Thanks, Rustypuppy. I like to show the process where an initial and underwhelming design can be turned around to something interesting. It's all about identifying problems and solving them.
The establishment of central banks perpetuates an inflationary loop.
1. Politicians buy votes while making fantastical promises of social welfare benefits funded by taxes and moneyprinting. The highest spending promises will typically win the most votes.
2. Governments sell debt (gov't bonds) to finance these expensive policies. Central banks and regular banks buy the government bonds with money created ex nihilio; from nothing.
3. As the government spends this newly created money, the monetary supply expands; inflation worsens.
4. Voters struggle with increasing prices due to inflation and can be predicted to vote for more government moneyprinting and spending. The loop returns to point 1.
A secondary form of inflation is caused by the Mandrake Mechanism.
Every time a bank loan is granted, new money is created by the bank from thin air. This newly created money flows into assets such as real estate, stocks, commodities, etc.
This process leads to an increase in house prices. Later when the assets are sold on the market, the newly created money enters the greater economy and the monetary supply expands; inflation worsens.
The speed of this loan-based inflation is set by the repo rate. When the central bank lowers the repo rate, loans become more attractive to lenders and thereby more money is printed into existence.
When the repo rate is set high, loans are expensive and the rate of inflation is temporarily reduced.
Keynes noted in 1919 that the establishment of central banks would lead to the destruction of capitalism; i.e. the abolishment of free markets.
https://image.nostr.build/7da61797a7e1f1e8608854cca5a2913ce46e6906d5bb11d822e6e4811cc6451f.jpg
Central banks will gradually rig the market, together with government, with false signals, distorting the supply and demand from regular market participants.
The result is a gradually impoverished population, impacted by a worsening burden of inflation year by year.
In the West, this process has solidified a powerful social-democrat voting block with few potential challengers, a form of uniparty structure.
In Sweden, the social democrats ruled without pause for half a century, until 1974, which gives a clue to the power of the inflationary voting loop.
This is a mischaracterization though.
The upcoming election may decide if WW3 breaks out or not. I'm in Poland and the risk for escalation between Nato and Russia is a real threat.
The establishment in most Western countries are overwhelmingly in favor of a war escalation, while they just by accident also have demonized Trump for 8 years.
Some people in Poland have been jailed in the last year for simply being in favor of war de-escalation and peace talks.
In Sweden, many workers in vital infrastructure are not allowed to leave Sweden or change their job because they are placed under a war preparedness plan designed to protect critical infrastructure in the case of war.
In relations to the US elections, the establishment in most Western countries desire a particular political outcome which is for an escalation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, pro-Agenda 21, pro-Agenda 2030, pro-climate alarmism, pro-CBDC, anti-Bitcoin and for energy de-industrialization.
There is no savior involved here.
People should keep their savings in Bitcoin and speak up for individual liberties, private property rights, anti-censorship, anti-CBDC and for energy policies that can power a modern civilization.
This is why people are engaged.
It has nothing to do with saviors.
I see two political options and people engaged in promoting the alternative they think is better.
I am not a mindreader so I can't insert a fear of change into other people's decisionmaking process. "Fear of change", what does that even mean?
I expect that adults will promote what they believe is helpful. If we have a better alternative to offer them we can speak out about that.
At the end of the day we know that inflation will continue as before and we need Bitcoin in order to protect life and liberty.
Hans, you are misusing the term high time preference here.
Samson has been working with nation state adoption for several years. That's the opposite of high time preference.
Perhaps just sit down a bit when you are entering a subject where you have not built up credibility as an analyst.
Disagreements without hostility are always the most fruitful exchanges.
I appreciate the work that Samson Mow has been doing over the years and he is also a highly critical thinker that often listens to and consider nuanced feedback. He may not agree with the feedback but he is able to entertain multiple possibilities.
We will all disagree on the timing when
$1.0M bitcoin happens and that's fine.
Trump demonstrated who the LARPers are.
When you stand up against the establishment, reject the Paris climate agreement, reject CBDCs and support Bitcoin, there is a high risk of assassination.
That's a baaad take.😄
Modern communists since Deng Xiaoping are in bed with corporatism because it expands the power and reach of the government.
Corporatism allows the government to outsource tyranny and oppression to companies that the government control via regulations. This leaves the government with seemingly clean hands and all the retards will blame the companies that following government commands, threats of fines and incentive structures.
Neo-communism is the new fascism.
https://image.nostr.build/84b34a2d9279cedb5af33f3b975f1d2b12f85df4e75a9eb93eca4cf166c24495.jpg
Dengism, after Deng Xiaoping.

This is what happens when a communist system embraces corporatism to further the power, financing and reach of the government.
This allows the outsourcing of surveillance to corporations that are indirectly controlled by the government via regulations and economic sanctions. The corporations that don't play ball with government instructions can easily be dismantled by the bureaucrats overseeing them.
Want to force experimental treatments upon a population? Just outsource the dirty work to all major corporations, who exist and prosper at the mercy of their alignment with government doctrine.
Dengism is how communism survived in spite of its devastating economic policies, resulting in a merge with corporatism. A few steps of a false free market charade was enough to prop up the communist establishment with newfound economic resources and extended powers of central planning.

Agreed. I sometimes write in my note app first, depends on how much I plan to write. Then at other times I just write in-the-flow, which can be both a hit or a miss.
Ideally I would like to have a draft mode in Amethyst, with slightly larger lettering so that typos are easier to spot. My eyes never get used to this small text format.
Sounds like an interesting book.
I have sometimes wondered if Satoshi was an individual who defected from the establishment or if he always was an outsider. Both scenarios could explain his visionary new pathstaking and oppositional course in relation to the corrupt moneyprinting system.
One interesting aspect with insiders that defect is the amount of corruption they have seen and how it finally pushes them to take a stand against it. "Dropships burning off the shoulder of Orion", comes to mind in the sense of someone recounting the things that they have witnessed but few others have seen. Insider insights must leave a mark.
It is interesting to consider how Trump used to be part of the establishment and praised by the MSM. Over the past 8 years we have seen a development where Trump has favored American energy interests and subsequently voiced opposition to the global climate agenda, which in turn has placed him at an adversial angle toward the UN Agenda 21, perhaps without knowing what kind of behemoth he was becoming an enemy with.
He has kept his focus on American energy maximization (drill, baby, drill) in spite of becoming unpopular among the climate alarmist governments + media in the US, Canada, France, Germany, UK, Australia, Sweden, Norway, Brussels et al. I would call all of these government entities a part of the Western deep state, and Trump has upset their plans. This doesn't necessarily make Trump into a hero, flawed as any person is, but it explains the assassination attempt - he is too much of an obstacle for the estsblishment. It is easier for them to carry on with their plans if Trump (or some other opposition) is not in the oval office.
The likely long term plan of the deep state is the establishment of the UN as a global government and as such, nationalistic or populist impulses that might offer a defensive barrier to a UN power grab must in their mind be eradicated.
Yet, there must be an abundance of engineers, system designers and highly qualified individuals that have seen the metaphorical dropships off the shoulder off Orion, who have seen the corruption and direction of the central planning system.
At $35 Trillion of US debt and as of present when 75% of US tax revenue goes to pay off the interest of the US debt alone, the point of realization that the system cannot be fixed by its architects must be widespread at this moment.
Governments are run by policy. Policy is a progran code and the downstream implications of such code can be predicted.
The signing of the UN Agenda 21 by 179 nations back in 1992 marks a significant software update to both the operative system of 179 nations as well as the ideological framework. This imvolves a blending of the governance structure with a deep belief in a human-made climate catastrophy as an urgent, all-encompassing Weltanschauung that cannot and must not be critiqued. Shoot it down and the architecture of a planned global governance crumbles.
Then there is the circulation of elites. There was a point in time when Ceaușescu could no longer command and move the masses with his speech and the public had arrived at a stage where they had had enough of the oppression. At that point the military naturally defected to team up with the new rising opposition and so the previous barrier of defence of Ceaușescu, became his bane.
Since fabricated climate fears alone are not sufficient to forge a global governance structure with the UN at its apex, the WHO became involved to offer a second path to global governance: the fear of pandemics and the global regulatory framework that can bind nations together under a centralized command: the UN and the WHO. An attempt at crafting a one ring to rule them all. Global regulations can form such a tightening ring of control.
The chances for major power struggles among the participants of this global coup de etat are legion. A large number of insiders may be on the verge of defecting from the global 1984 project, if they haven't already taken an internal stance against it.
As smaller nations are adopting hard money (Bitcoin) at a faster rate than larger natioms, this creates an inverse relationship between present economic power and future economic power, allowing game theory to play out.
The game theory of nations attracting capital (Bitcoin), entrepreneurs and skill, in exchange for offering individual liberties, low taxes and respect for property rights in return, will offer a strong counter-movement against global governance.
Those that defect from the system will be able to join in a multitude of forming Galt's Gulches. Once again in history we may witness a rotation of the elites. Churn is inevitable.
Len Sassaman is indeed an interesting possibility. I wouldn't be surprised if he was either Satoshi or deeply involved with Satoshi. In the first case he could have feigned skepticism toward bitcoin on social media. In the second case perhaps he came around to bitcoin after his initial skepticism.
When there is enough variety in topics on Nostr, a varied audience can connect.
Nostr has been over-branded and branding is a central planning mechanism. When I started with Reddit or Twitter, I never used their branding as some kind of flag or banner.
I think a positive step forward is to reduce the bashing of other media channels.
One of Nostr's problem is trying to be different from Twitter while not understanding what makes Twitter valuable to its users.
Suggestion for Nostr devs.
1. Problem.
I want to follow a lot of great people and profiles. When they post many posts per day my following feed gets clogged up. Unfollowing them to help clear up my feed is not ideal.
2. Possible solution:
Add an extra viewing mode.
"Compact Mode"
If the Compact Mode is selected, I will see 1 post per person from those that I follow. The selection process could be the newest of their posts or the most interacted post. Not sure which option would be best since interactions can be botted.
Optional: show an information box below the post, stating that X number of new posts from that profile are available. If I click this option I can see all the new posts from this profile.
This optional part is not necessary of course, I can just click on their profile to see their last posts.
In this manner I can follow a large number of accounts and have their content compacted in my feed.
Expected problems with the *optional* suggestion: there may be vertical reformatting problems resulting from this feature.
#Nostr #Dev #Suggestion #Feedback
Yet another possibility:
Semi-Mute
This feature would allow us to Semi-Mute a profile, with the result of us seeing 1 post per day from them.
A more advanced variant would be to add a menu where we can specify the number of posts we want to see per day from the semi-muted account, let's say 1-5.
Yup. She's an authoritarian central planner.
I wrote a few reflections on why it is implausible to assume that Kamala Harris would embrace Bitcoin.
TLDR: Kamala's stance on taxes, energy and climate disqualifies her at any capacity of leadership.
nostr:nevent1qqsq0vm5er0c52ynqa6wpsknuyglf6ay0pxvq7up9vlvp6m5pkvetysppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qgsz84ynj3sjtptsd3efpzj78yz0j5thagy8kqedm07d9p3rqnranqcrqsqqqqqpf5jhnj
As some voice hope for a Kamala Harris pivot toward a pro-Bitcoin stance, I find this implausible and will explain why I believe this.
Below I will have a look at Kamala's stand on taxes, energy and climate. First a glance at the Biden-Kamala constellation.
On March 9th, 2022, Joe Biden signed a document that involved the US government exploring CBDCs. The only way I can interpret this is as a plan to develop and implementing CBDCs. R&D does involve the 'd' as in development.

Next, it can be instructive to have a look at Kamala's tax policies from 2020, which are also largely mirrored in her 2024 position.

Here we find that Kamala had listed capital gains taxes on her policy document in 2020 and still support them in 2024. Not very bitcoin-friendly at all and a disaster in terms of the erosion of private property rights.

Next up we have the subject of energy and climate. As expected, the more aligned a candidate is toward the UN Agenda 21 and Agenda 2030, the more climate alarmism and de-industrialization policies we find.
This applies to the US, Canada, France, Australia, Germany, UK, Sweden, Norway and a host of countries that are pro-Agenda 21. Not a coincidence.
Ironically, Kamala's negative stance on US energy will likely boost Trump's campaign and he has been consistent in his pro-American energy position for 8 years, in spite of the coordinated MSM backlash.

In conclusion, considering the ideological foundation of the Democrats, grounded in the UN Agenda 21 climate alarmism, and with 6 years left to reach the Agenda 2030 climate goals, we can expect Kamala to reduce the US energy capacity of oil, coal and gas in favor of environmentally questionable solar and wind energy, resulting in a de-industrialization and possible energy rationing.
Since CBDCs are necessary tools to implement carbon allowances and social credit score systems, we can expect that any political candidate that is on board with climate alarmism, also see CBDCs as useful tools in herding (forcing) consumers toward eating less meat, using less gas, driving fewer miles with cars, travelling less with planes and using less energy in general, which, under her policies, there won't be sufficient energy anyway.
Bitcoin mining under this kind of energy rationing scheme would become pointless due to the skyrocketing costs of energy. De-industrializing a nation while also embracing bitcoin mining is not a compatible match. Can't work, won't work.
Trump's energy maximization plan however, is compatible with bitcoin mining at low costs. Without the climate alarmism ideology, Trump doesn't even have a use case for CBDCs, which by the way he is vocally against. Trump doesn't believe in social engineering applied by central planners to pressure people to stop eating meat or stop driving cars. He has rejected climate alarmism consistently for 8 years, in spite of global demonization and recently, an assassination attempt.
The deep state has shown itself aligned with climate scaremongering and this is the lithmus test I use to determine who is aligned with the deep state and who is not.
Are they pro energy or not?
Are they anti UN or not?
Are they anti CBDC or not?
Are they anti capital gains taxes or not?
Are they for individual liberties or not?
Are they for private property rights or not.
Are they pro bitcoin or not?
These are the questions we must ask.
