I’m gonna be honest, I never imagined the speculative attack on fiat being turned into a group project in the form of a public stock.
That is a distinct lack of imagination on my part.
Kudos to Michael Saylor for seeing that so clearly.
At $220 I told people bitcoin was going to 100k.
You would think those same people would listen to me now when I say that bitcoin is going to go from 100k to 50 million.
But for some reason they don’t.
These are mainly people I know irl, most of whom I don’t really talk to anymore. We live different lives. I believe in growth and possibilities and they don’t.
A lot of people telling us we got lucky right now.
I just hit them with “you’re right. Pure luck.”
My theory with nocoiners is they’re like mushrooms… feed them shit and keep them in the dark.
Story time:
6 years ago my mother in law was left penniless in a surprise divorce at age 67.
My father in law (piece of shit) had left her with nothing and planned to dump her on social security.
She was working as a pre school teacher making $14 an hour.
We had to move fast.
Father in law literally shotgun divorced her.
Showed up at the doorstep with a notary and manipulated an emotionally fragile woman into a binding legal agreement.
I was pissed.
I showed up a few hours later with a series of financial plans.
And with tears still streaming down her face in the kitchen of her tiny apartment, she picked one.
I gave her 3 options.
1. Aggressive
2. Extremely aggressive
3. Dave Ramsey rice and beans
She chose number 3.
Over the next 4 years she rode her bike to work everyday. Watered down her lemonade. Spent nothing on herself. Walked dogs for extra income. Took weekend shifts at the preschool. Showed up early. Stayed late and against all odds was able to save 12k a year on a salary of only 27k.
I set up a couple retirement accounts for her and whenever she would scratch $1,000 together she would give it to me and I would smash buy GBTC or MSTR.
My mother in law has never invested a day in her life and I didn’t want the news or some boomer friend to freak her out, so my wife and I just tell her she’s invested in “the market” 😂
When Bitcoin (the market) is doing good, we tell her and when it’s not we just… don’t tell her lol
So she’s effectively shielded from the emotional volatility of hodling. Which makes her a very good hodler.
Fast forward to today.
I helped her retire from the preschool. She is now living with us and helping look after her grandchildren.
She went from being near suicidal. My wife and I were legitimately concerned about her mental health. To a happy healthy and vibrant grandmother.
And as of yesterday she crossed 500k in retirement accounts.
I expect she’ll be a millionaire soon.
She can now comfortably retire with dignity.
This is not something that would have been possible without Bitcoin.
As cool as it is to see people like @saylor make billions of dollars these are the stories I live for.
The average person fixing their life with bitcoin.
It’s so fucking beautiful man.
Life’s good.
We had a talk about this recently. Since she lives with us I handle her housing and food situation. She doesn’t need nor want much. She says the money is just good peace of mind and she’d like to pass it onto the kids/grandkids when she dies.
I think I agree with you then. Women just seem to like therapy for some reason and since I am not a woman I don’t presume to tell women therapy is probably not the answer they are looking for. With men though I’m sure I’m right 9/10 times.
No man. You’re thinking best case scenario. Most of these psychiatric doctors are drug pushers who are going to be quick to recommend a pharmaceutical intervention. Putting your mental health care solely in the hands of a professional is very naive.
If you’re a man who’s struggling with low self esteem let me tell you going to therapy isn’t going to help.
The only way to fix it is to do things worthy of esteem.
We aren’t women.
Talking about our problems isn’t the solution.
Go do things in the world.
You will feel better about yourself.
I’m not sure you’re at the point in your journey where you’ve realized therapy isn’t some benevolent net positive and is actually in many cases harmful.
We have more people going to therapy than ever before and yet everyone is more mentally ill than ever before.
Fixating on your problems causes them to grow.
As a psychologist why do you think mental illness is increasing broadly across the board despite the fact that we have more people in therapy than ever before?
I’ve been extremely depressed before yes and I’ve seen a few therapists and I didn’t feel it was helpful at all. In fact I would say actively harmful in most cases.
Idk honestly. I don’t remember. They might have tried to diagnose me, but that’s not something I would have accepted. I reject all these mental health labels. It’s normal to be depressed. Most people will be at some point in their life.
Timelocks and insurance. Multi sovereign collaborative by default. Decentralized key holder market place. Think coordinator not wallet. Think multi sovereign not custody.
In America you can grow up the child of a drug addict engulfed in trauma and rise through your own individual effort to become the vice president of the United States.
Stop the black pill bullshit.
America is a beautiful place worth fighting for.
