It's a big pain in the arse managing fiat commitments while being maximally exposed to Bitcoin.
I'm guessing that once you've hodled through a few cycles, it's less of a concern.
I sold a little when we hit $90k to get me through to Xmas. It never feels good selling Bitcoin.

I don't collect coins or baseball cards but I know many of you do. There seems to be a thing among Bitcoiners having a desire for scarcity in its many forms.
Today I realised that I like to collect rare plant genetics. I get a kick out of possessing plants that are either scarce or hard to acquire.
I did well at the local Sunday markets.
This is my haul today & it looks like I've got a cutting of Tithonia Diversifolia coming!
Excited to be planting these out in my new #Syntropic row.

The 2 spikey cacti are Cereus repandus (Peruvian apple cactus). Something I didn't even know existed.
They apparently produce a fruit that looks similar to pitaya but with more flavour.
I have a large bag of seeds I collected before I went carnivore. They're probably 6+ years old now I'd wager most are no longer viable.
If you're not growing annuals each year & refreshing the seeds, they tend to become useless.
I don't eat most vegetables now so it's not a huge loss for me. The good thing about the genetics I connect now is that they're stored living perennial plants. As long as the plant survives, so do the genetics.
As I was driving back from the markets I couldn't help but draw similarities between genetics & information. We can share genetics with others infinitely. Like sharing ideas & information, it comes at very little cost.
Laser eyes became a meme associated with Bitcoiners because of it & I don't think it disappears at 100k.
We're in price discovery mode right now.
Either current holders reduce the price they're willing to sell at or accumulators increase the price they're willing to buy at.
This consolidation at $90k won't last too long I don't think. I don't see $100k being met with a huge wave of sellers.
Definitely consolidation/accumulation before buyers are forced to up their bid.
Know what you're holding (absolute scarcity in a world with abundant fiat currencies). Sell/spend to improve your experience here but don't sell thinking there will be an opportunity to re-buy later for less.

This is something very few people discuss, so I commend you for your openness.
I think your beliefs affect your whole experience here & hence are important. The closer your beliefs reflect Truth, the more expansive your experience here will be.
I personally don't seperate my mind from my body. I feel a soul consciousness & a mind consciousness exists. My soul holds my higher consciousness, my higher self. My soul has an awareness & intelligence that my mind is incapable of fully understanding.
In reference to the love you discussed, the Greeks had 8 distinct words to describe love. Agape is the love I feel for all things. It's the love I feel for the animal or plant I'm eating. It's the love I feel for my enemy even as we as we dance to determine our mortal fate. It's a feeling that we are not seperate, that there is no other.
I've been trying to feel what the spirit is. Apparently it's significant but I still don't think it is. To me it feels like a shimmer of another person's mind consciousness. A frequency that is left after their breath has left their body. It's a concept I'm still playing with.
I believe that there are soul groups or an over soul. I believe that souls of these wider souls groups are playing out similar themes in physical reality. Themes of control/dominance, of slavery/servitude & freedom/sovereignty.
My approach is to only surrender to my soul, my higher self. To seek guidance only from this part of Source. My physical body & mind consciousness is but a fragment of this larger intelligence. My job here in this realm is to experience all things & follow the direction of my higher self without judgement. That doesn't mean that I don't hold preferences, just that I shouldn't invalidate any experience.
I believe there is probably an entity masquerading as the creator of all things. I believe that this realm is the result of a co creation rather than the creation of any one distinct entity. For this reason I do not surrender my power to it. The source of the all that is does not require my worship or attention for it's power. I believe that the worship of these entities was part of the control-slavery theme that we've been exploring for several thousand years as earth beings.
I'm noticing that many in the 'new age' movement are still playing with this leader-follower (master-slave) theme. I don't know how aware people are of this dynamic but I see some teachers are moving away from it. We each have the capacity to become co creators of this realm if we don't surrender our power to another entity. I see more sovereign souls retaking their power & breaking old agreements. It's small but I see it spreading & I think the existence of Bitcoin helps.
I believe that the seed oils damage your mitochondria & slow your metabolism. I also don't believe we can safely access the energy in seed oils as energy, so our bodies are forced to store them in body fat.
Calories in & calories out still applies but the seed oils are lowering how much energy we're burning.
I've been diving down the relatively new #Syntropic #Agroforestry rabbit hole after meeting a Bitcoiner IRL who's practicing it.
It uses a similar approach to the #permaculture food forests Geoff Lawton advocates. It also seems to be more practical in how it's managed to produce food. Less hippy, more commercially productive.
It originates from Brazil but seems pretty popular in Australia, NZ & Costa Rica.
Keen to see #Syntropy (the opposite of entropy) discussed on Nostr. I'm not sure if there's anyone on here that's also diving into it.
It's weird man. I don't seek them out, they just kinda knock on my awareness until I can't ignore them anymore. There are no coincidences & sometimes I find myself on a journey before I even realise.
I'd pretty much walked away from permaculture when I went down the carnivore rabbit hole. I didn't have the time to build & manage a food forest. I also valued meat more & didn't value fruit & root vegetables enough to persist.
It's essentially leveraging & managing the natural succession of soil to forest. It uses support species to produce bio mass in situ, provide shade/shelter for short, medium & long term crops.
Systems are reset lightly or heavily depending on the primary crops you're focusing on & what you're wanting. This provides bio mass above ground but also collectively stimulates all plants in the system via the roots.

AFAICT, it's a tool to achieve your goal on your unique peice of land.
People use the principles to achieve many outcomes in many climates & soil types. I'm not interested in greening deserts or growing fruit in arid environments.
I want pasture for cattle but I also value some plants (mainly fruits & starchy tubers these days). I'm thinking these rows of productive trees will be positioned reasonably close to my future house. I'm still not sure how I'd integrate cattle into the mix.
I'm just learning & applying some of the theory right now. I don't have pasture yet but I have some time & 2 acres of pretty rugged & largely unproductive land. It's a good opportunity to make mistakes while figuring out what value I can skim from it.
I'm in the subtropics of SE Queensland, Australia. No frosts or hurricanes here. We get a long dry spell followed by plenty of rain mid to late summer. I'd guess that it's a similar climate to coastal Florida.
Ice cream bean grows really quick here & doesn't die back in winter. I have a Moringa growing but it doesn't seem to love where it is right now. I've put cuttings of it into my Syntropic system. Better to over plant than under plant. I didn't think Moringa was a nitrogen fixer but it makes sense given the nitrogen content of the leaves.
I've been looking at Tithonia Diversifolia (Mexican Sunflower). It seems to fix nitrogen & produces a lot more bio mass than Moringa. There also seems to be both sterile & fertile varieties & I don't want it spreading by seed. Both varieties readily root from cuttings or fallen stems so even the sterile variety can be hard to control.
Nice! I knew there'd be other Bitcoiners looking at SAF. It just makes so much sense.
I've pretty much planted out my first row & now I'm looking at my existing fruit trees & how I can plant some support trees for them.
I'm thinking I'll leverage ice cream bean a lot because I have a mature fruiting tree. The 2 fruit trees (jackfruit & Pomelo) either side of it are the healthiest on the property.
Are you in the US?
No but I'm very aware of the power of plant exudates in increasing soil life. It's the magic behind regenerative farming with cattle. I'm also a big fan of heavy mulching although I used to bring a lot onto the property. A big difference with Syntropic Ag is growing the mulch on site.
Healthy, vibrant soil means healthy, vibrant plants. I'm a bit lucky in my climate. Everything explodes with life after the dry season. The trick is keeping things thriving during the dry. Shade & mulch is key.
Yeah - there's nothing super new with it for me. It just feels like a slightly different approach to stacking plants together. I like the resets via pruning that stimulate growth periodically & provide mulch. It's a nice approach.

Ask what is it that I believe must be true for me to be experiencing this feeling that I do not prefer?
Feelings, thoughts & actions all flow from beliefs.
Beliefs can be easily let go once you become consciously aware that you are holding them.
Don't fight the feelings, thoughts & actions. Don't invalidate or judge them too harshly either. Look for the belief that's no longer serving you.

Rejecting the GBTC application on shakey grounds.
Approving an ETF for Etherium when he knows it passes the Howey test.
I'm sure there's more & I'm also assuming incompetence over malicious intent.
I'd love it if someone put together a tool to see a Bitcoin inferred exchange rate & then the official exchange rate.
The divergence from official rates would be fascinating to watch.
I don't think morals & ethics means what she thinks it means.
Some of these progressives seem extremely intolerant of people having a different opinion.
I agree.
Christ talked about their belief healing them.
I believe his message was that we all have access Christ consciousness. He was not seeking followers or to turn people into them. I think he was wanting people to find their own inner Christ, to be their own leader.
I'm seeing evidence that focusing on your own beliefs is where the true healing is found.
Know thyself. 💚
I wouldn't use the opinions of others to determine whether you're "doing it right".
Keep being your own leader & don't take the opinions (positive or negative) personally. It's none of your business what they believe.
Don't try to understand the mind of a shitcoiner man.
These guys are searching for a win to elevate their lot rather than just choosing a better system to point their productivity at.
High time preference behaviour.
If there's enough of them doing it, a few will inevitably get wealthy at the expense of others.
What cracks me up is that they think Bitcoin is no different. They just see Bitcoin as a slower version of their preferred shitcoin.
Zero sum games are the worst.
A lot of relays would go down.
Some clients would become unstable.
I think responses & approaches to the increased usage would quickly arise & proliferate.
I think you're wrong on the timing & the prices. The general theme is accurate I just think it will more closely resembles epoch 2 or 3's price discovery. I also think the draw downs will be less severe/persistent during periods of consolidation.
I suspect there are many with a desire & means to accumulate a sizeable amount of Bitcoin. I think this cohort is increasing in number.
They're price sensitive & have longer time horizons than most consumer trader cohorts.
My beliefs just confirm that I shouldn't be trading this stuff while attempting to increase my stack. I will probably still conservatively hedge against huge drawdowns, since I have little fiat income now.
I did this with a small amount the Saturday before the elections.
It went red for a few days but then very green.
I closed it a week later at 79.5K because it was triggering feelings or fear & greed.
I'm up a millions sats & I'm not about to lose them gambling any time soon.
Good luck though.
The game changer for me was realising that you don't need to prebuy the gift card. You can buy it on the fly at the register so you're not left with a huge fiat balance on the card.
You can migrate the dead LN node using the data to another device.
The risk is if you then try to restart the original node, channel states will have likely changed.
I did this on my Umbrel node by installing Umbrel on my new device & started the Timechain sync. I then shutdown both nodes & copied the whole Bitcoin directory from the old node across to the new one. It's still running now.
MSTR is the only example I've seen that will likely outperform Bitcoin as an investment.
It's not really something I'm searching for though & it's certainly not without risk.
That Stock2FOMO part of the animation is how I see price behaving.
I just think the parabolic part is sooner than the animation suggests.
I've not seen that before.
A market for alerts?
The legendary nostr:nprofile1qqsgk539zq9ercdt86rv5r3qnzarmsyca4gnuc7d728p5cq05q9xkrgpp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqpzfmhxue69uhk7enxvd5xz6tw9ec82cspzamhxue69uhkummnw3ezuendwsh8w6t69e3xj7s84kuwj knocked an app together.
I use it regularly to get an indication of fees.
It's obviously not using my mempool but it's just an app.
https://i.nostr.build/vGsM2FnVfZTAlVYN.jpg
The market for Timechain block space is arguably the only truly free market we have.
Alert settings can only indicate where people might be bidding for block space. Signed & unconfirmed transactions are still a better indicator for setting your own bid.
Mempool dot space does a great job of graphing estimated future blocks. It can get tricky to make the next block during times of high block space demand though. I don't see how alert information can help significantly with predicting this.
An alert for when the min fee reaches a certain level would be useful.
This would allow you to be alerted when fees are heating up & not just when they're cooling down.
I still don't see why other people's alert data would be useful. My alerts certainly don't indicate I'll be placing a bid for block space.
The illusion of safety costs you your freedom, so I'd argue that safety is more expensive.
True freedom is knowing who you are & owning your experience. All it costs is that part of you that wants to blame others or make yourself a victim.
Taking responsibility for all things comes at a cost but it's not as expensive as slavery.
Being able to cultivate your feed is one of the best things about Nostr.
I've noticed retarded takes tend to be ignored over here rather than exploding into adhominen exchanges. I've noticed I feel the desire to get into big disagreements with people I don't already respect.
Once I realise that someone's beliefs or logic are very limited, I tend to just walk away rather than battle it out. I think many have adopted this approach without algorithms being there to drive conflict.
