I mean, I realize I can't completely avoid election nonsense. This is the internet after all, But for some reason I seem to hold people on nostr in higher regard, and then I see everyone falling for political nonsense. Ita disillusioning a bit.
Damn, I just realized the laptop was shipped with a RAID 1. I was getting ready to do the partition for dual boot when I realized the configuration. Now I have to reinstall actually everything and I think I'm going to break the RAID 1 and make it a RAID 0 so I actually have my full four terabytes of space and not just two. Reee.
I guess Microsoft really doesn't want you to make an offline local account on Windows anymore. This is so aggravating.

Debian. Debating though on sticking with KDE for my desktop environment or going back to GNOME.
I played around with budgie for a little while, but I don't think I like it.
I still don't like running, but I believe I'm starting to form the habit because I didn't feel right not running yesterday.
Also, starting to find my breathing cadence again, and I'm able to go for longer. Still can't do the whole mile without stopping, but I'm getting close..
Pretty much what I've been doing in the past five years or so.

Lol. Kitchen manager told me today that she wishes my heart was more into cooking professionaly than IT.
I had to find a way to politely tell her that it's not that I'm not fully dedicated to cooking. I will never stop cooking and exploring new techniques and expanding my repertoire.
It's just that I don't necessarily want to cook professionally for somebody else. If I decided to go balls deep and dedicate the rest of my life to cooking. I would have to either work towards opening my own restaurant or a food cart or something. But slogging away in a restaurant where I have zero say on what goes on is not necessarily my idea of a fulfilling cooking career.
And unfortunately doing web development and IT-related things pays me a lot more currently.
Oopsie, someone was advertising my soup as vegan without the cheese and it couldn't be further from the truth. I used parmesan in the pesto and I used a bunch of butter when frying up the mairpoix. 😂
Listening to the altered carbon books, I forgot how wild the series was.
The idea of just calling a body a sleeve It's still a bit nuts to me, even though under the context of the story I completely get it.
There are parts of e-cash that I like. Like you, I think it's cool tech. Privacy is a neat feature as well.
Beyond that, I don't really think it solves any problems. Because, again, as you pointed out, it's a rug factory. You have to rely on another custodian. And if most people are using lightning custodially, then they're relying on another layer of custodians to not rug them.
I'm not sure exactly how it would happen, but it would be neat to see cashu as a pure layer 2 and not as a layer 3 sitting on top of lightning.
I'm still on the fence here. Federally, I don't believe voting makes much of a difference. I still feel that voting locally can actually change things. At least you see the consequences of local voting more directly.

I kind of feel the same way, despite my extremely anti-government tendencies. I do think voting at least on the local level can affect change.
And I've always voted even if it was just a write-in because I always felt like not voting was a cop-out in some way. Like you're not participating in the system so you don't really have a say. Even if not voting is a protest because you don't agree with how corrupt and fucked up the system is currently. It's an argument that I can completely understand.
It would be really interesting to see some law in the U.S. form about votes of no confidence or voter threshold turnouts like if a certain threshold doesn't turn out or if there's enough votes of no confidence then elections will have to be ran over again until either enough people participate or somebody legitimately wins.

Luckily there's a place within a couple minute walk where I can get a halfway decent breve. Forces me to step away from the computer for a little bit, too. 😅
Took a rest day Sunday, now I'm back at it.
There's something incredibly demotivated running on a street next to cars. I've been trying to find a good time to wake up and run where the roads will be mostly empty, but I don't think that's going to happen unless I want to wake up at four in the morning.😅
Me: databases are easy nbd.
Also me: ready to admit Technology was a mistake. Throw my computer through a fucking window, run into the woods, and never touch anything more complicated than a lever and pulley ever again.
Ah yeah. I knew it dident work with https. I was not aware of newer browser countermeasures, hence why I said it's probably not a valid project anymore.
*le sigh* I'm gonna have to find another form of employment or ways to make money because this restaurant is starting to fuck with my schedule too much.
Also, I guess in all fairness, I knew this job was going to be temporary. And even though I like working here for the most part, when I got hired, I had a very specific conversation with the kitchen manager telling them I do not care which days I work, but I need consecutive days off in a row to be able to manage my other business. I made it very clear that this restaurant was not my primary job.
So I guess just to expand on this a little bit more and kind of to vent in the void because I am genuinely a bit confused. Feel free to ignore.
My roommate, who I love to death, we are pretty different politically in a lot of ways. But We've had pretty long conversations on how even if we don't necessarily agree on a path to a solution, we definitely both acknowledge there's something extremely fucked up about our current political system and the problem is coming from both Democrats and Republicans.
What genuinely confuses me Is that, despite his acknowledgement of these political problems, He still votes along party lines, primarily Democrats. His reasoning comes directly from mainstream media. Today we were talking and he said he's not voting for Trump. He's voting for Kamala, which is fine. He can vote however he wants. But his reasoning was that Trump was a fascist, whos supported by Nazis, and Kamala actually cares about human rights.
And even though I'm not a fan of Trump myself, I'm not out there calling him a fascist, and if you look at Kamala's track record when she was a DA and now as a vice president, her actions prove that she doesn't give a shit about human rights. It's literally just party talking lines that she spews out.
So what genuinely confuses me is that even though someone is aware that these problems, how can they still adhere to party lines and vote blindly Just because the other side is "bad".
Hence the whole, you can lead a horse to water but not make them drink a comment. Blech. Politics are fucking stupid.

I mean, you should throw any iPhone in the ocean immediately. 😂
I know it exists, there is a signing app analogous to amber for iOS. But it's not the ecosystem I'm in, so I'm forgetting the name right now and it's making it hard to find.
It's a good thing he disclosed it. It definitely makes Coracle a bit more trustable in my mind knowing that even in the case of a mistake it will be disclosed.
Definitely reinforces the fact that you should never raw dog your private key into any application, no matter what. I don't really think most people do that nowadays, but its a good reminder.

Day number two, I still definitely don't like running doing it anyways. Ended with 45 pushups and about 10 pullups.
Mostly posting for my own accountability. Had the realization that my physical health is kind of tied in with my mental health and ive been a huge slacker in this area.
Lmao shit. My knees are so mad. 😅 gonna need to ease into this.
