the water bottles gym bros use these days are getting comically large
One bottle per day is how I roll.
If humans manage to digitize themselves and live on a network in which their essence has no single point of failure, will they finally be able to achieve freedom from government since there won't be a monopoly on violence?
A sufficiently distributed system cannot be shut down.
I'm not so sure about your claim that fleshers will be necessary. Seems to me that digitized humans ought to be able to project their will into meatspace by controlling robots / network connected machines.
As much as I want the bitcoin exchange rate to moon, as it would benefit me personally and my business commercially...

part of me wants it to stay stuck at 58k just to splatter egg in the faces of all the price predictors.
When life hands you 100 jalapenos at the end of the season, you make a few years worth of hot sauce.

One of my favorite mind-blowing theories is the idea that perhaps consciousness leads to reality rather than the other way around.
We used to look up at the stars and dream.

Now we look down at a screen and scream.
Just loaded up an app codebase from 3 years ago. Nothing works and it barely compiles. 😅

Code...
We stand shakily upon the shoulders of giants.
In the past 2 months I've tripled my testosterone, halved my cholesterol, and lost 4 inches off my belly with the aid of various peptides. Will have more results in 2 months regarding body composition.
It wasn't a goal, just an expected side effect. I went down the cholesterol rabbit hole last year.

It's actually more complicated than "good" and "bad" cholesterol:

I'm currently on a 1,871 day GitHub contribution streak 🤓
I had a cousin commit suicide this week.

Please remember that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
My favorite part about operating a responsible disclosure program is all the drive-by Indian "security researchers" who copy paste OWASP best practices and then go silent when you ask them to provide a practical demonstration that their reported vulnerability is actually exploitable against our infrastructure. 🙄
It is so hard to gain weight as a carnivore. I have to seriously overeat to even gain a couple po...
Hard to gain fat but hard to gain muscle too...
You know you're deep down the Bitcoin rabbit hole on a side quest when you find yourself reading Bitcoin Core source code for answers.
One of the simplest things you can do to improve your privacy online is to install ad blockers on every device you use. Want to test how well your ad blocker is working? Just visit https://d3ward.github.io/toolz/adblock
I love how X will often simply refuse to send DMs that include a link, even if it's in a long-running conversation.

And the error will innocuously say "message failed to send" but of course when I remove the link it delivers just fine.
Has Saylor started buying his next $2B tranche of bitcoin yet? 😬
I'm noticing a concerning trend where service providers are relying more and more on SMS verifica...
Conspiracy theory: it's soft KYC to require you to use a phone number with a major carrier that can be subpoenaed.
Your mileage may vary from system to system.
OP_CAT has been live on Bitcoin Cash (and Liquid IIRC) for years.

Please demonstrate how dangerous it is by exploiting the weakness you claim those networks have adopted.
What if we made it so that you could require replies to include a trivial zap?

Fuck you, ReplyGuy bot 😘
That's what Earn was like for a while. I built my own though.

Will be interesting to see what the new Linkin Park album is like.

Sadly, there will never be another Chester Bennington, who was arguably their greatest asset.
They just replaced their vocalist a second time. She's good but she's no Chester.

For some reason Parker thinks nostr isn't censorship resistant because it doesn't have PoW. He probably doesn't know there is a PoW NIP. He also probably hasn't considered that nostr's tight integration with lightning can act as a form of PoW (imposing economic costs on certain actions.)
Just checked in on BSV's network stats.

It's now confirming fewer than 60,000 transactions per day - far less than Bitcoin.

Muh on-chain scaling 🤡
I'm starting to suspect that one reason some Bitcoiners are bearish on nostr is because they are stuck in the mindset that distributed networks have to guarantee message delivery, message permanence, and thus form consensus around that.

They don't understand that nostr network fragmentation is actually flexibility.
ROFL does he not understand that keys are portable between every client?
It should be illegal to have your Halloween decorations up already.
 Oof
Every man should have enough land that he can sun his balls in solitude.
One of the more common questions I receive is about the feasibility of using duress wallets to mitigate physical attacks.

Today I'm presenting my thoughts on the matter.

https://blog.casa.io/can-duress-wallets-stop-bitcoin-attacks/
Sure, whether or not you can convince the attacker is not relevant to the security of the funds.

If your physical security has been compromised, they may torture / kill you regardless. In most cases it seems physical attackers prefer to get in and out quickly without getting law enforcement on their tail for homicide.
It sounds like you're asking about covenants / vaults. It would be cool if that functionality was available...
https://blog.casa.io/why-bitcoin-needs-covenants/
You said that the funds had to go to a specific address after the timelock. It's not currently possible to place forward-looking restrictions upon your funds. That requires us to activate some form of covenants.
why does the primal app say i have 20k followers on nostr? damus says i have ~800
 Counting is hard.

Depending upon the time of day, Amethyst says I have either 500 or 10,000 followers 🙃
Just got locked out of one of my credit cards for daring to request a balance transfer while using a VPN (which I've done many times before) and their system doesn't support sending one time codes to my virtual phone number. Now I get to wait 2 to 3 weeks for snail mail authentication. 🙄
Yeah but I'm trying to avoid selling bitcoin by taking out a 0% APR fiat loan! 😬
 It was Citi
I saw people talking about putting their Bitcoin keys in yubikeys not even 2 weeks ago… nostr:n...
We only started shipping Yubikeys with version 5.7 so it's probably low likelihood someone brought their own 5.5 device.
Upon closer review it appears that the only Yubikeys with firmware version 5.5 were the Yubikey Bio, so I bet the total number of those in the wild are rather low.
 Same deal with mastodon DMs.
Mastodon is all about giving instance admins god mode over their fiefdom.
Tried wakeboarding for the first time. It's quite challenging - took me 7 tries to get up!

Also got some mild rope burn on my hands 😬

Will try again, preferably with gloves!
 Nope.
 Not yet!

Are you currently running Ubuntu 22.04 LTS?

Good news! Today is the first day when you can finally upgrade to 24.04 LTS.

sudo do-release-upgrade
It won't even ALLOW you to upgrade to the latest LTS any more until after the first point release, which just happened yesterday.
nostr:npub17u5dneh8qjp43ecfxr6u5e9sjamsmxyuekrg2nlxrrk6nj9rsyrqywt4tp do you have any thoughts on...
You don't have to double your attack surface to keep them separate. Just create different subaccounts (account derivation paths) within the same key set.
The OP_CAT Research Fund, sponsored by StarkWare, is a $1 million fund aimed at advancing research regarding the pros and cons of activating OP_CAT on Bitcoin.

The OP_CAT Research Fund committee is seeking to fund proposals that present novel research projects regarding OP_CAT activation on Bitcoin. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: the security implications of OP_CAT activation on Bitcoin, OP_CAT-based computing and locking script logic on Bitcoin, applications and protocols utilizing OP_CAT on Bitcoin, and general research related to OP_CAT and its impact.

I just hope Trump's high yield DeFi thing doesn't become the Terra Luna of 2025.

For the Trump team's sake, they'd better win the election or they're likely to have the SEC all over them.
The bad news is governments are retarded.

The good news is governments are predictable.
On its own it would be good news, but they do have a lot of guns and thugs.
 reddit down?
I couldn't tell if it was that or if they just ramped up the VPN blocking again.
It amuses me to no end to see Bitcoiners acting like Buttcoiners with regard to nostr.

I do wonder how much of this can be attributed to maximalist culture making people more close minded and pessimistic.

I'm not interested in all the ways nostr can fail.

I'm interested in all the ways it can succeed.
It's on X, not on here
