Good news! Today is the first day when you can finally upgrade to 24.04 LTS.

 To clarify there was nothing wrong with Ubuntu 24.04 on a fresh install, you there just wasn't a seamless upgrade from the previous version?

 That is odd. It was released back in April as the numbering suggests. I was wondering why they had not been constantly bugging me yet to upgrade.

Are they now only recommending upgrades from the .1 release? I had been doing that for the past 6 LTS releases already but it seems they have adopted this strategy themselves now as well.

 It won't even ALLOW you to upgrade to the latest LTS any more until after the first point release, which just happened yesterday.

 yea only `do-release-upgrade -d` overrides that check (if you enjoy the pain)

 Hmm mint here. Will have to see when we get it. Do they have virtual file system support yet for Nextcloud, dropbox, etc. For files on demand? I'm relatively new to Linux, but that's the kernel feature I would most love.
