same thoughts with many of the Bitcoin macro guys discussions. Using govt's provably cooked metrics to say anything just seems pointless. Don't even mention CPI. how do you reconcile these ideas?
genuinely asking @Dr. Jeff
they were dead either way. At least they get a bigger payday on the way.
No one thought about em before and now people hate em but they get paid. Probably worth it in their eyes.
a very important insight for creators and service providers dipping their toes into #value4value .
In growing the v4v model, I wonder to what degree this idea of "generosity that bitcoiners learn to trust over time" is tied to the bitcoin ecosystem and how much is #v4v
+ reciprocity? Are there ways we can shorten these feedback loops?

while it's more difficult than ever for restaurants to survive, the price increases without any increase (and frequently decrease) in value mean more home cooked meals for my family.
I want to support the local spots and still have my haunts (mostly for inspiration or stuff i can't cook easily), but hey, at least I don't have to freak out about PUFAs at home.
Screw pay $20 for a mid-tier burger.
I'm writing a few articles on #value4value and am trying to collect some useful data but most clients I've tried have not been particularly useful. I've tried nostrudel (tons of options just not the ones I want) and primal (limited to last 24 hrs).
What nostr client (if any) can I use to pull:
- Most zapped notes of all time (by sats or # of zaps)
- Most zapped hashtags
- Most zapped users
- Most zapping users

Ross is a political prisoner and Bitcoiners set their terms for a temporary alliance with Trump. Sure Trump may back out of a promise he's reiterated no less than half a dozen times, but you work on your jailbreak plan on the side and we'll see which one works out first.
high quality education is the best marketing. gj @IVPN on Nostr!

still very skeptical because like you said, it's a campaign promise. But by now he's ATLEAST quadrupled down on it which is a lot better than the zero chance Ross has under Kamala.
an added benefit to this is that we can organize across borders unlike current political parties. For example US bitcoiners with power (large business owners, orange pilled politicians etc.) can put pressure on Europe to treat their Bitcoiners properly or risk larger international consequences.
it will take time but I do see a difference between what US politicians do about UK politicians mistreating their own people and what Bitcoiners do about politicians mistreating Bitcoiners.
If Trump follows through with his campaign promise to free Ross, it would mark a major milestone in Bitcoiners fighting politically for our own on a national stage. It only snowballs from there.
to @erikcason's point, even if Trump reneges, our negotiation power keeps growing along with our understanding of how to channel it effectively. All this makes our next move far less easy to back out of.
my point was that they both provide IP and phone number to LEO requests but from a trust model Telegram is worse because they can access the messages but Signal cant.
of course WHAT is being shared may be less important than what they are capable of sharing.
their state media claimed as such.
"Hezbollah’s Al-Manar television showed what it said were images of Motorola pagers that were being used before the attack. “These pagers were detonated with high-tech by the Israeli enemy,” Hezbollah lawmaker Ibrahim Mousawi told the group’s TV network.
Motorola Solutions did not immediately respond to Bloomberg’s requests for comment."
the bloomberg article is paywalled but this references bloombergs article

Every time I've shared a nostr note with normies using the share link from primal, they complain: nothing loads, what is this sketchy site, etc. I tested it myself in incognito, and it's true-- the note never loads. Is this due to no default relays being set for new users?
Ditto.pub works with just sharing a note link, but primal is my ride or die and I really think linking to fire notes is a great purple pilling strategy.
Is this the same for everyone else? What's the fix?
wild story. Especially doing that in states with very high gun ownership! Also interesting:
"Although the members of this violent conspiracy tried to cover their tracks through encrypted communication and anonymous financial transactions, they were not beyond the reach of our dedicated investigators and prosecutors."
great post! my first thought with the communities was how we could build something like skool.com
that allows people to build/interact with/monetize communities but in a nostr permissionless style.
its much easier to get people over who have existing communities tied to them than convincing people to move a few folks at a time.
“You cannot teach a man anything, you can only help him to find it within himself.” - Galileo
Not your job to educate. If you must then just poke their wounds a bit and let them know there are options but they have to dig with their own motiviation.
Kamala wins => more devs going to jail
Trump wins => more Bitcoin affinity scams.
Even though you're right, the people moving the price currently don't see Bitcoin as resistance money.
just starting down the rabbithole. is the project just for fun or what are you trying to get out of OPNSense? What kind of hardware did you spring for?
