My friend also said he will report back with a good option for direct relief to the victims. It'll be good to split up the funds across supplies and rescue efforts, and then simply getting it directly to the people who have nothing left from this disaster.

Ok, so I finally figured out where to send the funds. The organization that my best friend works for has been working tirelessly since the storm. He finally got back home for a short stretch and sent me a bunch of images, video, and updates. At this point they are just trying to convince people to leave the area because it's going to be literally months before the roads and power are back in order.
