 Yeah, llm in the cloud is a bad idea it's like the IBM mainframe model from the past. Anyone who makes an llm that runs great locally on normal user hardware and uncensored will do so much better.

 There's a perspective where it makes sense to keep throwing money at it.

Even 'borrowing' from the future would be the right thing to do.

If the end result is AGI that changes everything, its analogous to inflating away debt. It would make everything so cheap and abundant that the initial cost doesn't matter, and getting there as fast as possible is the right thing to do.

That said, its not where my moneys going 

 AGI isn't going to be centralized for basically the same reasons that central planning cannot produce prosperity. It's a fools errand. 

 Btw I was thinking of the agi+singularity+transcends physics SciFi scenario 

 Investing in AI because "one day it will make you money" is as smart as investing in FTX was...

If one can't control or change or even create the language model, the AI remains as dumb and useless and full of lies as the provided model it has to operate with...

Just waiting for this bubble to be over. The last one was "blockchain technology" remember? That resulted in thousands of scams and projects worth zero...

 Agree wholeheartedly, although the coming Open AI blow-up will have at least 10x the impact of FTX. And Sam Altman is a genius level fraudster whomakes SBF look like the amateur he was 

 Yup. Funny how the first mover advantage is pretty much non existent nowadays with a bunch of very capable competitors and OS models. The hype was real though.. and now we has all forgotten about the AI 😂 

 Can you explain why? 

 - Deeply unprofitable.
- Sudden switch to for profit corp after pasturing "open source" and "non-profit" and "for the good of everyone" bullshit.
- Their recent fundraising agreement is bonkers. People aren't even getting equity, it's some bizarre "profit sharing" unit nonsense.
- Most absurd fundraising ever for a company that **continuously** increases costs more than their revenue AND is running out of training data for their overly aggressive TRAIN BEST MODEL EVER EVER MOAR strategy.
