Escalating U.S. involvement in this conflict—especially after the crystal clear mandate sent by the American people—is a deliberate act of defiance against our democracy. Ironic. Doing so in a lame-duck session, against public will, and in a way that objectively heightens our risk of nuclear war, might be the most infuriating and malicious thing Biden has done in office.

I know it's a fraud prevention thing. Would be neat if another user could attest to a newer users legitimacy 🤔

https://pop.system76.com/ is a great place to start for beginners. It's based on Ubuntu so has a ton of compatible packages and tutorials. System76 just adds a bunch of UX polish on top.
If you want something not Ubuntu based I always recommend vanilla Fedora

Nostr and Bitcoin fundamentally clash with the ideology of the modern left. To highlight the importance of freedom tech to them, one must first dismantle several deeply ingrained assumptions they hold about the role of centralized power and control.

Really not sure I understand your point...
So developers and users that hold decentralization with upmost importance are "coping" when they point out other projects are DINO?
Are you saying it's "cope" because they have more users?
I guess I'm just fascinated by the pushback against it's criticism... If nostr and Bluesky are both attempted solutions at the same problem, why can't we talk critically about them?
If your waiting for a technical breakdown of the AT protocol right here from me don't hold your breath. I'm only commenting on the pushback at suggesting someone should write such a piece, which or course someone should

An experimental/pre-release nostr client specifically for notifications. Instead of using the typical push notification tech, Pokey keeps websocket connections open with your inbox relays at all times and alerts you of new events. Still pretty buggy, but the idea is very cool and it's improving quickly
It's a bit confusing no worries! I mean you can install the new zapstore with the old zap.store. once you have the new zapstore you can uninstall the old zap.store then you'll get all your updates from the new app
FANTASTIC

Counter point.
Have had a Tesla Model Y for 2 years. The performance is truly next level. I'm a simple man, it's fun being considerably faster than most sports/performance cars in my family crossover. We charge over night every night in our garage and have used a super charger twice (for free) on a longer roadtrip. Sure gas station charging in a couple minutes would be great, but the convenience of waking up every morning with a "full tank" is extremely convenient and way more than offsets it. Imagine essentially never having to go to a gas station. And yes I live in a cold climate, it's never been a problem.
Goverment mandates on any product's adoption are ridiculous/harmful/immoral. At the same time, Tesla makes an incredible product for certain use cases. I am a major gear head and its objectively one of the best cars I've ever owned.
Quality was definitely an issue early on, but to be expected with new company that scaled as quickly as Tesla did.
I sold a 2021 BMW 330i xDrive to get the 2024 Model Y Performance - the build quality is comparable. The technology (if that matters to you) is 100x better than BMW's.
To date I've done exactly zero maintenance. Probably getting close to needing new rears, but that's only because I can't keep my foot out of the throttle.
Don't get me wrong, for a pure driving experience, it's not the move. I have a heavily modified s2000 that I'll never sell to scratch that itch. But in terms of a family hauler, I could not be happier with the MYP.
There is a weird thing that happens when a product becomes political... It necessarily means less objective opinions and more bad takes. Don't knock it till ya try it.
Totally agree about BMW. Left that car with extremely mixed feelings. Wouldn't buy a used one outside of a couple of their halo cars (but not worth it at this point).
The s2000 is the perfect car. My wife strongly disagrees 😆 but I don't care, it's perfect. Can't not smile when I drive it. And it's over 20 years old! Blows my mind.
When I'm going for utility, reliability, and value my first thoughts are always Honda. Maybe CR-V? That or a Rav4? For wagons (which who doesn't love a wagon?) Maybe an Outback or a XC70?

What a freaking wild sentence... Anyway the timer has started, good luck all!

This reminds of this one time wayback in highschool when I brought a cooler of beers to a football game that I then forgot because I was "having too much fun".
Come Monday morning our school principal came over the PA and very casually said they found a cooler under the bleachers and feel free to swing by the office to pick it up.
