Pro: it's faster than electrum, especially if you have a long wallet history with plenty of transactions (spent or unspent)

Con: I've heard it doesn't like unexpected shutdowns, like power outage.

More info if you want a deep dive:

 > plenty of transactions (spent or unspent)

What I meant was large transaction history and/or a large number of UTXOs

Its index is so f'n fragile. If it gets corrupted by a power outage, you have to do the long reindexing from scratch.

Absolutely need a UPS for whatever machine it's on and automated nightly backups.
I got a UPS for @Alby hub which kept breaking after one of our regular village power outages.
Yeah, I used it a while back. ElectrumX is my daily driver simply because I set it up long ago, but if I had to set up a fresh one I’d use Fulcrum.

There’s a config option, can’t remember what it’s called, where you can turn off some guard rails for faster initial sync. I DO NOT recommend it. It was faster synching while it worked, but inevitably it would crash and I’d have to start over.

I don’t know if they fixed whatever bug was causing the issue, but I’d recommend just using the default config options.
 yes, but not on Umbrel.

requires more CPU than an Electrs but faster and way more than it, IMO

Yes, running fulcrum on full node for years. Super snappy for deep wallets.
 How deep?

Peter Todd explains he is not Satoshi at @PUBKEY here:

Where were you in 2008 - 2011? 😂
Do you really need to hear from this clown directly to know he isn’t Satoshi?

Yes, but he is difficult to watch in an entirely different way to Adam Back whom, when he speaks, I can’t stop falling asleep.

At least Craig makes my skin crawl so much that I loose sleep when I listen to him 😂
 Like 20,000 addresses deep.

Down voting on Reddit, buying tons of cheap ammo, riding motorcycles thru Latin Merica, living off grid in cabins and selling product online for ₿
 I think I’m in love 😂
 Good times. Many fond memories.

If not his technical, then certainly his financial 😂
