You gotta love Apple.
I'm still with those little beauts cos of their cross device copy / paste function.
However, one day you do an update or two and suddenly that service becomes slow then breaks.
If something works perfectly, it's always a great idea to update it 😂
Slowly, then suddenly I'm moving away from Apple.
Proton is one of the best.
Interestingly I’m in the camp of “Stop telling me I need a VPN for security”.
VPNs are great for obtaining geo-locked content or accessing your home or business LAN, or preventing man in the middle attacks on public wifi, but I’ve never subscribed to the idea that a VPN is going to stop the 14 eyes spying on me.
So up to now, I’ve relied on my own Tailscale VPN to get me back to the UK, as I don’t generally wish to access a lot of geo-locked content.
This is more of a curiosity exercise than a use case investigation.
WhatsApp might be private, but your phone and many services installed on it are not 😂
Didn’t Google admit they are always listening in, transcribing and sending key words back for advertising purposes?
So trialing the @Tailscale@Mullvad VPN integration.
As far as I can tell, Tailscale doesn't allow you to use your existing Mullvard credentials, but instead creates new ones which you have to pay a new fee for.
More than that, Tailscale KYC's your Email, Name & Postal address in order to purchase Mullvard.

Agreed VPN is better than Tor to access a node.
I do use Tailscale, simply because it comes with @umbrel and it's easy to use.
I also use it as an exit node when I'm abroad or on public Wifi to connect back to the UK for region specific browsing.
I was hoping Mullvard would give me general VPN services built into Tailscale, not sure whether it's worth it tho.
I'm going to complete the signup to trial. I don't need anonymity as I choose to be myself online, but this doesn't work for most people who wish to remain anonymous when browsing.
The Film “Carry on Doctor”, a classic British comedy farce, features my namesake “Dr Hardcastle”, who operates on a patient and looses his watch inside, so they have to wheel him back in to surgery to recover it 😂
I didn't claim it was good.
Actually I'm a big fan of the "Carry on" films, they are of their time, but I love them.
The best for me is "Carry on Screaming"
It's more like a stablecoin 😂
It was interesting, because it works exactly the same as BTC onchain. It does have cheaper fees, but still take 10 - 30 mins to confirm before final settlement, meaning I couldn't use my VPN straight away.
Lightning solves this.
I have a theory.
You know how the BTC price is all over the place during the week, but at the weekend it pumps and stays high until the new week starts.
Well, I think the weekday action is a result of the suits playing with their little coins, while at the weekend, the suits go home and BTC settles to its natural price point.
I really struggle with lying, so filling in these KYC questionnaires from banks and exchanges in the UK where you have to confirm that you invest less than 10% of your net worth in Bitcoin and that you know Crypto is extremely high risk, galls me.
It is forcing me to be dishonest, which no society should do.
Is it right to counter corruption with dishonesty. I don’t know, but all I do know is that I am a lair and I don’t like it.
It’s a private thing 😂
Aww, what the hell.
I’m not going to BWEST Bitcoin conference in Bristol tomorrow.
I won’t see you there 🤣
So much for NIP-59 gift wrap and it’s three layers of encryption.
The weak point is always the human 😂
