If I wanted to consider de-Google my Android phone's OS, what would folks recommend? I know there are a couple #FOSS and #opensource options out there. Just no idea where to start.
To all my #Krita experts out there, is there a way to align paint layers in Krita?
I see it for Vector layers, but can't seem to find where to do it for non-vector layers.
@03c45187 I just think the 'spider universe' and 'spider agents' in a secret 'spider institution' is a very dull take on the multiverse idea. Just didn't find that as a compelling story hook. The original Spider-verse while it had alternative reality spider-people, it at least felt a bit more interesting in general.
@03c45187 and if you liked it that's awesome! I'm not one of these contrarians that demand people not like what I don't like.
I did love the visuals and animation.
Maybe my expectations were just misaligned.

@c2d1ddb3 yeah. The model for contractors in games are often low pay and even zero contract hours in some places too.
And in the scenario at Naughty Dog, laid off with no severance or protections.
I've seen it used as a safeguard for the company not to take on the employment risk. And they get away with it far too often.
I'm not 100% against contractors (I am one at the moment by choice). But like you say there needs to be remuneration and compensation, and a high day rate to compensate.
More dire news for the industry.
Solidarity with the workers who have lost their jobs.
For too long has our industry relied on contractors when they should be full-time. They can get away with letting them go on a dime with nothing.
Time to unionise & demand better. ✊

@b4d5f756 "Pizzas will be here at 7pm. I know end of day is supposed to be 5pm, but we haven't really ever followed that you know? And hey, maybe after pizza you might just get a bit more over the line?"
If you're a smaller team or indie you can help lead the way too by getting involved. It's time we stop looking at our work with a lens of rugged individualism. Our coworkers, creators, and comrades are all suffering because of this attitude. Its time to step up.
You might think you're job is safe. But the reality is it's not. Look at all the job losses in the sector this year. A lot of them have come from profitable studios. Your hard work won't save you. We need to organise & protect ourselves & our jobs. And we have to do it together.

Alright, I'm live on https://live.denmanrooke.com doing some sketches for Magic the Gathering artist proofs.
Today's sketch features Vampirella!

Turned out really nice. Was a little more moist than I was expecting but still crumbly. Not exactly parmesan in flavour, but definitely suited the role as a salty, crumbly, nutty flavour in the dish. Was nice on a baguette as well.
@505567de no worries. I've tried that approach and it's just not great. Hoping to find a good machine to help make it closer to the store bought options.
@2c0eef6a My favourite is Bunalun and they don't have any additives. Just oats and water I believe. But the filter bag option just isn't good enough to filter out the bits enough. There's a trick I'm missing at least and a proper machine built for the task sounds like the way to go.
@505567de I meant milk makers as in I can make my own homemade ones.
In Ireland as far as ones I can buy in the shops, I really like Flavahan's and Bunalun, but the prices really add up. Creating it from scratch would save so much money.
Any #vegan comrades out there have suggestions of good non-dairy milk makers in the EU?
I've read good things about the The Chefwave Milkmade but seems it's only in the US.
@0d5abd63@5b00f2ed@cb72bb0c I imagine since it's opensource it's kind of already designed by people making games with it?
I think I remember hearing that the developers are often pulling in updates that are being created by game studios that were useful to their game's dev pipelines. Which is very encouraging to hear. The pro of being opensource.
@0d5abd63@5b00f2ed@cb72bb0c 100%. I imagine with the whole Unity debacle we'll be bound to see more over the coming year or two as indies make a switch to engines like Godot and others.
@0d5abd63@5b00f2ed@cb72bb0c Sonic Colors Ultimate was apparently made in Godot. That's the biggest title I'm aware of. But yeah I think with Unity dominating the market especially in the indie space, it's meant that Godot hasn't shined as much, but with it's latest update to v4 it looks very very capable.
@aea3822c hmm interesting. I do love a good RTS and I do enjoy DUNE.
I think I opened during early access and wasn't sure about it, but I didn't actually play it. This review is nice and has me interested a little.
@7d602a69 yeah as someone who doesn't really read much manga or watch anime too much I still found it really enjoyable. Genuinely sweet and full of friendship and fun? Yes. Silly? oh yes.

@cab75536 thank you. I had to do a serious deep dive into it all when it came into the digital art sphere a few years back so have had plenty of time to stew on it :).
If they took 2 seconds to search my name + NFT they'd probably know I wouldn't be the best person to ask. But that'd expect these charlatans to actually put in literally any (real) work.
Looking forward to re-share my viral tweet on the anniversary next week. :)
