Both FFXIV and WoW dropping expansions within a month of each other is going to take up *all* of my free time for months lol
… and that doesn’t include all the other awesome games coming out this summer/fall.
😵💫🎮
Having some increased health struggles right now. I’ll be quieter than usual — but I’m still around, reading your lovely posts. 💜
DMs / messages of all kinds will be delayed.
Ty for understanding.
@81bfcf6f I absolutely agree. It’s more of a ‘game’ than a learning experience. It’s gotten worse over the years, too.
I really like good ‘ol books. YouTube videos with native speakers, and interestingly enough… apps called Busuu and Drops.
I hope you have found other ways to learn that work for you :)
@81bfcf6f Nope… just going through the motions, really. Duo helps me sometimes, but it’s not something I can keep up every single day. I go through… surges..(?) of interest in learning, otherwise it’s just 1 min a day review.
@81bfcf6f I’m fairly certain this is how it will end 😆 At this point I’m just slowly giving myself time to realize I’m not learning anything anymore… just bound by that stupid number.
One day…
@28fd3f73 💜 maybe it was you that recommended them to me?!! I made a ‘want to read’ list a while back after tons of folks recommended lots of new books… :)
I’m super excited. So far, I’m amazed at the quality of the writing and the performance in audio format.
So, someone recommended I read (well, listen to) Dungeon Crawler Carl…
THANK YOU! Haha. This is so good, I didn’t know needed to find the litRPG genre… but I’m glad I did!

What have I been enjoying lately? this is a fun list!
Boyfriend Dungeon -- I have about 5 hours into this adorable little lgbt friendly indie and I love it so much! solid 10/10
Murder by Numbers -- Another great little indie, a visual novel that combines mystery, puzzles and humour. 9/10 so far.
GameDev Story - I am totally addicted to this game. Something about the way it plays is very soothing and chill. 11/10.
Rimworld - I have no idea what is happening but it's fun. lol
Started the day with a big house fire right across the street. 🔥 🏡
5 fire trucks on scene, road blocked off… they’ve been here a little over an hour now.
I won’t post photos for privacy reasons… my heart is very sad for our neighbour.

So I went to the bad place to comment on a photo of my friends new kitten.
I said he was beautiful and his eyes showed his intelligence.
Wait for it…
BirdSite marked my comment as hateful speech.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! That hate infested website marks my comment about a kitten a hateful. I have recently reported *actual* hate speech over there and they’ve done nothing — maybe I’m flagged.
What timeline is this. My god. Something new every day that makes me facepalm.
@b9e83f16 this is so relatable, on every level. 💜 ((hugs)) Thanks for sharing with me… it makes me feel less alone.
If you ever need someone to talk to about it, you can always drop me a DM. :)
@0683504d hey! Sending your wife my best... the main health issue I have is ongoing chronic fatigue so I can definitely relate to her in that way. I'm so glad to hear she's found some games that bring her joy and allow for a relaxing playthrough experience. :)
@5b922a27 <3 Thanks for replying and for the solidarity. I totally know that feeling... *logs into game* *sees quests I need to do to catch up* *sighs* *turns off game* lol
TW: Mild discussion of chronic health issues and grief.
I really miss being able to play MMO's, especially #WoW. I cannot cognitively keep up with worlds like that anymore and it makes me sads.
Everything feels like a job, a chore, a huge undertaking. When I can only spend about an hour a day playing a game (thanks, health)... that's just not it for me anymore. No more long play sessions.
Does anyone else out there feel this sort of grief related to #Illness?
#ChronicIllness #Spoonie
I want to add that on the bright side... how I'm managing this is the following:
Finding new types of games that are more accessible to me. This looks like visual novels, turn-based RPGs, base-building games, and crafting sims.
I've really loved finding new indies that are accessible and make me feel like I can enjoy a hobby I thought might be lost with my illness.
Keep going friends, keep at it. You can overcome anything life puts in your way. <3
@920f92b8 s’all good so far, seems your mod squad is doing a great job with it, keeping the stress off other serve as much as possible.
I totally understand the frustration, though. I guess it’s just the way it is because m.s is the default instance when you sign up — very easy for bots to target the instance.
#MstdnGames Server Post:
We are aware of the new wave of bot accounts coming from mastodon.social right now and are doing our best to squash them.
Thank you for your reports!
Hey, pssst… Canadians from cold weather climates..
First. Be nice to me for my ignorance, I’m trying to learn. 🤗
Second. Please help me understand how to make the best use of a block heater for our car this winter. We have a plug in our parking stall and we’re responsible for the costs, so I want to use as little electricity as possible.
We have a newer vehicle, use synthetic oil and keep it well maintained.
Thanks for helping :)
@8645f2ba oh no! That’s terrible, I’m really sorry to hear that. I truly couldn’t even begin yo comprehend what that would be like….
Glad you’re ok, friend. 🤗
@9731dd96 the crazy part about where we lived in BC is that there was zero option to ever find another GP. 5 year wait list in my area of Van Isle. So many people are stuck with poor doctors - makes my heart sad.
