 @81bfcf6f Nope… just going through the motions, really. Duo helps me sometimes, but it’s not something I can keep up every single day. I go through… surges..(?) of interest in learning, otherwise it’s just 1 min a day review. 
 @d6c53e4a I think Duolingo is really good at getting people to keep doing the thing, just I don't think it's a good way to teach people.

Even just a 3 sentence explanation of the new concept would really help. Or at least that was true for me with Vietnamese, there are just too many concepts that are completely opaque in Duolingo but core to the language. 
 @81bfcf6f I absolutely agree. It’s more of a ‘game’ than a learning experience. It’s gotten worse over the years, too. 

I really like good ‘ol books. YouTube videos with native speakers, and interestingly enough… apps called Busuu and Drops. 

I hope you have found other ways to learn that work for you :)
