Currently playing the "how many times will I have to rebase my Bitcoin Core pull request before it gets merged" game.
Anybody know what the high score is?
Apparently I need to add a button to my paid contact form that says "Do you claim to be Satoshi?" and if you check yes it 10Xs the price of contacting me.
Sometimes my friends and family say stuff like "I don't really know what you do, but you're not going to end up in prison right?"
My answer: "the services I've been building for the past 9 years are legal by default because they haven't been deemed illegal. But it's not hard to envision a dystopian near future in which I am magically turned into a criminal by authoritarian decree."
While I do sometimes worry about existential threats to my company, I can at least sleep soundly knowing that our clients' funds are not at risk.
JFC it took me 2 hours to figure out how to upgrade my Mastodon server that was a major version behind. Only the nerdiest of sysadmins will have sovereignty in the Fediverse at this rate.
Pistol Whip, one of my favorite VR games, has added the ability for folks to create & share custom levels and songs, so the total catalog size is drastically increasing!

The folks who speculated that covid would become like the flu were right.
Now advertisements are literally suggesting getting your annual covid vaccine in the same breath as mentioning that it's time for your flu shot.
Check out my getting started section. It's all about education over acquisition.
I think folks who acquire bitcoin before they understand the risks and responsibility are likely to shoot themselves in the foot.
Oh no, Voyager is upset that I haven't cashed my $10 creditor check due to the dust I couldn't withdraw after testing their service...
I never got the check because I gave them a fake address 😏
Delta KYC dumbassery update:
Support: "Submit your ID via this personal info update request form."
Me: "but I don't need to update my name, birthday, or gender..."
Support: "Just choose one."
Me: [updates gender from male to male]
The next day I receive an email from Delta saying that I can't update my gender because my account is under audit for suspicious activity and to unlock it I need to submit a different form.
Delta blocked me from buying a flight in my own name with my own credit card. Support agent said their system suspected my account was compromised and they need me to upload my ID to prove it's me. Of course the review process will take an indeterminate period of time.
The only reason I can imagine this happening is because I use a VPN.
It's pretty annoying when news publications refer to Craig Wright as an Australian Computer Scientist. Craig is as much of a Computer Scientist as he is Satoshi.
There are far more Faketoshi frauds out there than you might imagine. You just don't hear about them because they are so obviously unhinged that their rants get completely ignored.
Pretty sure this is the manifestation of a specific type of mental illness.
Looks like 4TB NVMe PCIe 4 hard drives that can read and write 8 GB/s have dropped under $200.
Makes me wonder how long it would take to sync a fully validating Ethereum node on one. 🙃
Germany has one of the highest levels of Bitcoin adoption in the world. Usually in the #1 or #2 spot for number of nodes. Why? Do they remember the hyperinflation from a century ago?
Yet German politicians are overwhelmingly against it. Why? Liberal ESG concerns?
"I think that the biggest thing that held back PGP adoption was not the regulatory attacks, but rather the cognitive overhead imposed by the decentralized trust model."
- Phil Zimmermann
Excited to be putting the final touches on some historical research I'll be presenting in Lugano on Friday and publishing on Saturday. It's quite the banger.
Thanks for reading my announcement of the announcement.
Having red lights transition to yellow before switching to green is such an obvious optimization, I don't know why every country hasn't adopted it as the standard.
