There's a stereotype in America that the Brits drink warm beer. Seems to be a myth; while a pint of bitter isn't ice cold, it's still chilled.
Lived there for a decade, any of the cask ales I've tried were always served at cellar temp. It might be chilled if the weather's cold, but during the summer, they can be lukewarm. Never saw the appeal.
A good Guinness at 50°f (10°c) is perfect. Ice cold reduces the flavors.
What’s it like to have a beer that tastes of something?
You haven’t been to a proper pub yet then.
Order a cask ale with clearly out of touch branding for the warm stuff.
