Who has embarked on a 5 or 7 day water (maybe with salt) #fast? Any tips on timing, what to expect, things you wish you knew going in? Anything that surprised you? Thanks for the help! Finally ready to go for it. Let the body work its magic. #fasting #meditation

TY✨ Wisdom download please! @AK as well right? I’ve done a juice cleanse and 48 hour but this is next level. See what the body, mind, spirit is capable of doing in 5-7 days
Go you for exploring fasting 🙌 First thing to note is that the body is designed to do this. It only appears difficult because of the habits we have established with food and eating. The more you do it the more that cells in the body adapt and the easier it becomes. Good luck! http://flyingisawol.com/articles/no-food-for-5-days-my-fasting-journey/
I seem to struggle at about the 5th day. It's when my mind becomes a real bastard & my will seems to weaken. The first 3-4 days are pretty cruisy for me. We're all different though. I know a couple of plebs that really struggle with the first 48 to 72 hours but once they pass that they feel that they can go on forever. The process of fasting trains your will to become stronger. This is one of the lesser talked about benefits. My biggest tip would be to plan the timing of your fast away from any important commitments. Stress & social commitments are a great excuse to break your fast. Be prepared for the mind games & mental bargaining that will occur. Your ego is tied to your meat sack & it will become convinced it's dying at times. It's an opportunity to become very aware of the games that it plays & how much influence it has over your thinking. Don't fight it, observe it, show it compassion & let those fear based thoughts flow through you. Meditation & sauna are amazing on a long fast. You'll mobilize fat stores that haven't moved in decades. These stores likely contain toxic crap that you've been exposed to. Getting that toxic crap out feels great & sweating it out is a great way. Niacin can help to mobilise fat, increase blood flow to your skin & increase the intensity of a sauna session (it's really intense). Be kind to yourself. There will be many printouts to fast in the future. 🧡
Sounds like an excellent way to ring in the new year! Sauna is a brilliant idea. I was thinking of liver and kidney detox / juice a couple days leading up to it to get heard start. Goal is to open escape hatch for ego, mutated cells, and inflammation. Let the meat sack explore its potential.
Your mind is in the right place. Your goal will be achieved on the other side of hunger, without a doubt. Keep us posted on your journey please, 🙏
It's very much a journey. Focus on the journey (on being in the now) rather than the outcome (getting to x hours/days or some other goal). I would also caution against trying to build too much expectation into this fast. I usually do a couple of long fasts (4+ days) a year and always learn a little more about myself. I've done green juice fasts in the past. I'm sceptical of their effectiveness. The water fast will give plenty of time for your liver & kidneys to clean house. You will definitely want to get yourself some electrolytes (salts). Magnesium, sodium & potassium are the 3 I prioritize. Search for snake juice recipes if you don't want to pay a premium for salty water. I usually start dosing these at around day 3. I tend to take more than required & assume that my kidneys will filter out the excess. Potassium is good for low blood pressure & light headedness. Magnesium is good for muscle cramps & twitching.
fasting is about SHUTTING OFF THE FUCKING WORLD and going within, usually in an effort to get closer to god... what the fuck is all this pansy prep capitalized garbage ? if you wanna fast grab some water, have a toilet, go into a room and sit down and shut the fuck up... never heard so much fucking feminized nonsense ...

so fucking cringe dude... do you have a penis ?
see the difference here is that you are the one clinging to self, hence all your sugar coated pseudospiritual bullshit... i on the other had have decided that there IS NO SELF , thus I say what I think without fear of judgement and inly in service to the person or question at hand... in this case, a girl asked a question about fasting and all the cucks began clucking about nonsense... so i threw a grenade in... funny thing is is she followed and liked so I am not sure why you are troubled ? oh wait ... its because your interest wasnt in her but in hearing yourself wax about your phony fucking expertise...
lol just as easy to unfollow but I appreciated your point about shutting off the world and getting closer to God. That’s my main point in doing this. Health benefits don’t hurt either. Appreciate the help fellas. And the humor all around!

But I don't want to rot in an apathetic existance either. See I want to believe you, and I want to trust and I want to have faith to put away the dagger. But you lie, cheat, and steal. And yet I tolerate you. Veil of virtue hung to hide your method while I smile and laugh and dance and sing your praise and glory. Shroud of virtue hung to mask your stigma as I smile and laugh and dance and sing your glory while you lie, cheat, and steal. How can I tolerate you. Our guilt, our blame , I've been far too sympathetic. Our blood, our fault. I've been far too sympathetic. I am not innocent. You are not innocent. Noone is innocent. I will no longer tolerate you Even if I must go down beside you. Because, No one is innocent.
Bro you throwing tool at me? Nice. I noticed you hucking the bible at my friends somewhere else. Why don’t you go check out opiate 🤙
you know you dont have any friends
Lost me at Tool and silly insults. Good luck with the anger stored in the liver. Maybe a juice cleanse with clay, husk, and some reverse coffees will help extract it and bring an abundance of friends into your life. (The real magic trick to love thyself unconditionally through the process.) Enjoy!
you were lost already.
In your journey, you've chosen a path of unfiltered expression, perceiving it as a detachment from self. Yet, wisdom teaches us that true understanding comes from a balance of speaking one's truth and listening with empathy. Your approach may resonate with some, but it's also important to remember the value of diverse perspectives and awareness that everyone is meeting us where they’re at from their unique perception and understanding. Each individual's response, is shaped by their unique experiences and insights. In seeking to guide or advise, it's not about the volume of our voice, but the depth of our understanding and respect for the journey of others.
11 A woman[a] should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man;[b] she must be quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 15 But women[c] will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.
never knew that enlightenment was about losing all sense of perspective and, above all, humor... go fuck yourself lol
5 days is longest I’ve done. Day 2 and 3 are hardest. Day 4 and 5 are much easier. Eating ketogenic in the several days to weeks leading up to it makes the fast much easier. When doing it in the summer and sweating a lot from work outside I had to add salt to avoid passing out. So now routinely will eat/drink more salt if fasting. Some vitamins inhibit autophagy so I stop vitamin supplements with fasting. Jason Fung is the person I think has most helpful info on the topic. Depending what meds people are on they may need to decrease/stop them in order to make fasting safe.
Thank you! What did you eat the first day / few days after? Will checkout JF
Usually just start with smaller amount of things I commonly eat. Meat, eggs, bone broth, maybe small amounts of veggies. I’d suggest avoiding more processed foods i.e. things in boxes, cans, and bags all the time but especially after fasting.
My first question would be what type of fasting have you done leading up to this? (And also, I always salt and squeeze some lemon in my mineral water on a fast)
48 hrs many times. And 5 day juice only (by day 4 don’t want the juice). 3 days is definitely doable. 5 would be excellent. 7 is massive stretch. Salt and lemon sounds excellent. How much mineral water vs still?
I switch between the 2, sparkling mineral when I’m feeling like I need something more substantial? 😂😂. And then still for the rest. I usually don’t even go to sparkling mineral until mid day 2, but sounds like you have enough knowledge under your belt!!! Good luck!
New Year game. Have done silent (and no phone) dietas in past. Considering adding on silence so there’s nowhere for ego to hide. Will send 👍 on the other side. Thanks for the advice, good vibes, and humor!
🤝🙏
Fin! Thanks for the tips
How long did you go?? Did you have any spiritual experiences??😲😲
5 days! Today in nature especially. Lots of synchronicities with nature and other things. So that’s always fun! A lot of gratitude. Wild we get to experience consciousness.
5 days! Wowwwww.. that’s awesome, congrats!! 🫡🤝
Yeh I have done it several times in last few years. It really is a good reset. I usually just drink water. Maybe have a pinch of salt if I get any cravings. The first two days are most difficult. Once you get over the initial cravings go away, it becomes a breeze.
Listening to a podcast today reminded me of a good resource for women interested in health benefits of fasting. Her interpretation of scientific evidence for benefits of fasting is stretched a bit in my opinion but still a good resource. “Fasting Like a Girl” by Mindy Pelz.
I’ve done 2x 120 hour fasts over the last two years both times with some salt water… both times Sunday night to Friday dinner … the second time was easier because I knew what to expect. (1) Each fast, I had two periods of time with headaches, lethargy, and kinda blah feeling that I had to push through: Tuesday pretty much all day and Thursday morning/early afternoon. (2) Sleep quality went way down starting Monday night and continuing the duration of the fast (3) Digestive surprises started at around 72 hours (4) Mental clarity and focus was great Wednesday and AMAZING Friday morning / afternoon. This was the main benefit! (5) Lost 10+ lbs despite drinking 2-3 gallons of water per day. (6) I wonder how altitude would impact this experience (??)
Super helpful! 120 hrs seems like a reasonably challenging / attainable goal. Going to do it around New Years so I won’t need to interact w the world much. Friday sounds fun! Good motivation to push through.
Awesome, have fun!
5 days complete. Thanks for the insights!
Awesome! Congrats!
I did a 7 day fast last year to help heal a health issue. I didn't really prepare for it too much just decided I was going to do it and did it. Drank water and electrolytes (re-lyte) as needed. Around day 6 and 7 I started feeling super hungry. Many people say it's smooth sailing after day 3 but the end was when I got the most hungry. I honestly felt I needed to fast for two weeks with what I had going on - I stopped at 7 though and then drank bone broth for the next 2 days. Day 3 I ate bison meatballs. Be careful breaking your fast! Bone broth first! I was in tremendous pain during this fast because of my health issue but I do think it helped me heal! I get extremely cold at night when I fast so possibly prepare for that! Day 3 is when mental clarity really comes in for me. Once you do 7 days all other shorter day fasts such a breeze! Enjoy it 😊🌟💫
Amazing!!! Thanks for the tips. Looking forward to the challenge and experimenting.
No prob! I want an update 🙃
5 days complete! Thanks for the tips
Amazing!! How did it go?!
Went well! Mentally could have made it to 6-7 but body was complete at 5. Maybe next time! Will be fun to notice what’s different over the coming days/ weeks. Surprised by how little I felt hunger and was mostly in my mind when it would surface. Had a ridiculous amount of water (with salt at times). No idea how people have dry fasts. 🙏
Way to go! I remember I got pretty hungry by day 5... 6 and 7 were a little rough. Agree - no clue how people do dry fasts!
3+ here, but a couple of years ago…
fasting is great but it's hard to get through it long enough to really get the results, 3 days is when the benefits start and personally never managed much better than that on two occasions this year for sure, if you are having GI problems it's a bit of a cure-all, that was what prompted me to do it both times also just gotta mention, there is a lot more carbohydrates in coffee than you might have thought - they are caramels but they are sugars and i can attest that they feed oral bacteria, though not nearly as bad as malts and simple sugars i have basically eliminated simple sugars from my diet except for in coffee and alcohol because it is saving me from having to go to a dentist... probably the casein in the milk i drink as my main staple, also is helping my forming a shield over some of the exposed nerves that are the reason why i can't tolerate the sugars anymore i can definitely recommend cutting out simple, fermentable sugars from the diet permanently, once you go there, it's pretty hard to go back, the bacteria that sugars feed are wack
