He also disrespected our man @jack 😡
But for real, I dislike the guy because of what he's done to our world, knowingly, and with pride.
Has he though? Or did people do that to themselves?
he built the tools for people to do that to themselves and they called them dumb fucks for handing over private information and laughed at them for doing it.
He’s not wrong though. You do have to be a dumb fuck 😂 he just spoke his mind and for that age it seems totally normal.
dude he's 5 years younger than me. age has nothing to do with being an asshole.
When were the comments made?
probably 15 years ago? at the same time i was a small business owner. when i was a a small business owner, i would never bad mouth my competition. i would never try to sell their weaknesses. i would try to sell my strengths instead.
He would have been in his early 20s? You don’t know 20 something year olds who talk shit all day long? The things I did his age ..: would make me seem like a monster today. Dumb fucks doesn’t compare 😂 But here we are. I’ve grown and matured.
i never talked shit about my competitors in my 20s to try to make myself look cool in public.
Good guy Derek. Respect. I was the devil in my 20s 😂
oh don't get me wrong, man. i was a dick at times and acted immature at times, sure, but there are certain things i just didn't do.
He deserves a lot of credit https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/jul/02/facebook-apologises-psychological-experiments-on-users https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facebook%E2%80%93Cambridge_Analytica_data_scandal https://www.businessinsider.com/facebook-ceo-mark-zuckerberg-testifies-congress-libra-cryptocurrency-2019-10
what's a psychological experiment? A/B testing?
They were doing a study on how manipulating the algorithm could result in a change in users' emotional states
Sounds evil when it's put that way. But, consider what practically every business does every day with A/B testing. Literally playing on your emotions to buy. Not defending FB, but they sure do get a lot of focus when everyone is basically doing the same thing.
So Zuck is CIA? That’s what I read.
Oh? How?
i don't remember the exact quote, something along the lines of essentially saying that twitter, when it was a facebook competitor in the early days, accidentally fell into success, insinuating that they weren't trying hard and doing good work.
That’s not nice. But, imagine being his age atm - that’s probably the standard behavior of anyone in that age group. Cockiness.

jack posted it a couple of days ago. i thought it applied here. :D
Jack is a hero. Twitter grew by quickly implementing ideas from user feedback which created the multiplier effect. Jack was lucky in a sense that people at that moment in time were eager for a realtime digital town square. He asked, listened and delivered. But then the bureaucrats and woke people captured Twitter. In contrast, Zuck’s approach with Facebook focused on profit, employing techniques that could manipulate user behavior and emotions for financial gain, without prioritizing user well-being. Despite his success, this strategy is criticized for its ethical implications.
@iack the former CEO of Twitter at a time that Twitter silenced speech and manipulated an election? That “your man?”
