I feel the same way. I thought the Internet would stave off the control of banks and corporations.
Bitcoin and nostr make me think we can do that again.
I'm having a hell of a time uploading my manuscript to Amazon's Kindle. I'm using Libre Office. I converted the file to epub and a pdf, but it gets rejected.
How do I fix this without using Windows?
#asknostr
This will become increasingly important as more and more governments control legacy corporate media or try to ban it like the United States plans to ban TikTok or Brazil banned X.
The assholes will have no place left besides nostr.

I never deleted twitter, but I don't have any desire to go on there anymore. Nostr is so much better. I didn't realize how addictive Twitter was. For me, getting on nostr was like a social media detox.
Do the mining pools(besides Ocean) act like Door dash paid an average of the agregate tips back in the day?

I think of "apps" on nostr as clients or services that can be run like nodes. Tens of thousands of nerds can all run iris, Primal, nostr dot cooking or whatever.
Governments might be able to take down iris, but everyone with a Start 9 or umbrel can run their own iris.
DNS is the biggest vulnerability right now, not clients or relays getting censored. I also think holepunch has the potential to fix this.
I know a lot of people talk shit about Swan and it sucks that Pacific Bitcoin was canceled, but they sent me a refund priced on dollars and I ended up with about 40,000 more sats.
I'm testing this now.
It's like Aqua wallet without stable coin support.
It also gives you the option to see your xpub.
This gives us the ability to add the onchain wallet to BTCpayServer.

It sounds counterintuitive, but I see my incoming bitcoin payments to fiat.
When I buy a cup of coffee or whatever, I send the four bucks worth of sats to a BTCpayServer with the Strike API. I basically do an atomic swap from sats to dollars and use the cuck bucks to pay off my credit cards every two weeks.
Then I stack the 1.5% cash back at the end of the month.
I just compared the medium price of homes in California today vs. 1940 in ounces of gold.
I know shiny rock dumb, but Bitcoin didn't exist in 1940.
As it turns out, California homes lost 34% of their value when priced in gold. This does not include taxes, interest, insurance, or maintenance. Real estate is a poor store of value after all.
Of course, bitcoin is even better. A decade ago. The medium proce of a California home was about 478 bitcoin. Today, it is about 13 bitcoin.
The worst thing about money printing is that most homeowners think they are getting rich because they believe the CP Lie.
#Bitcoin. Fixes this.
