Not that I know of, but you can mute phrases in notes. I don’t want to mention the specific phrase to mute cause then he’ll know how I filtered out his notes from my life 😂. Just look for a pattern in the notes and mute it.
I think it’s better to filter client side. For example, I can browse my feed using Coracle with less spam notes because of WoT, but I can easily hop over to another client to welcome noobs.
What if we make a new tag for notes called zap_required or something? When a user posts a note, they can request a minimum zap amount in order to reply on the note. Your client could auto-zap it when replying if you have a built in ecash wallet or NWC set up. @keychat charges you 1 sat to send a DM and it seems to work great. I’ve only sent a couple messages though.
If you only read from paid relays, you’ll miss out on all the notes from people that can’t afford to pay for the relay. Paying 1 sat to post a reply is much more manageable than paying 50k sats upfront for a relay.
It would be a client specific setting. So other people wouldn’t know what you have it set to. There’s no reason for people to know how you choose to view content on Nostr.
I just threw out 50k cause that’s how much I thought nostr.wine was. I just checked and current price is 18,888. I’ve happily paid for nostr.wine, but I still read from free relays cause I know many people can’t afford to pay for nostr.wine and I still want to read their notes.
i added the ability to zap notes with other wallets on my primal fork. by default, primal tries to pay with webln and if that fails for any reason, such as you closing the alby popup, then i display the qr code so you can pay it with any other lightning wallet. 🤙
