Yeah, I know. It just gets that much more complicated for new people who aren't already into btc. For me personally, it's an amazing idea though 😅
Clients could turn off the reply filtering by default. That way it’s opt in.

It would be a client specific setting. So other people wouldn’t know what you have it set to. There’s no reason for people to know how you choose to view content on Nostr.
True. I had the same initial reaction to onlyzaps & likes too. Replies do have a little more gravity in that sense, but you're right. If someone's replies aren't being seen, then eventually they'll just quit replying.😅
