 Today's #jazz jam.

I could basically listen to this on repeat back-to-back with Kind of Blue all day. Maybe throw in some Chet Baker to mix it up. So good. 👍

What's interesting about this release on Green Corner is that the stereo and mono versions are *not* different mixes: the session was simultaneously recorded in mono and stereo with two different mic setups!

The Gamma that arrived from D-Central this week shipped with new software and it's pretty slick! I like the finer control over clock/voltage settings, too!
The only ones I regret are the earliest sats I mined: would still like to have those vintage UTXOs.

And yet there are more horses in the US now than there were when Henry Ford was still making cars.

Mostly not on the road, true. But interesting to contemplate all the same.
You could make a very educated guess based on the name. "Letitia James" is a perfect example, actually.
Remember, kids: whether or not your favorite candidates won last night, it's all statist bullshit and you should be doing the same thing today you were doing yesterday: being humble and stacking sats.
That's like the apex of anti-keto.
Good morning and pura vida, Nostr! It's time to create notes and send zaps! 🤙🏻🫂💜

Speaking of which, let me know if you're ever going to be near Carlisle on a Saturday afternoon. I'm in town almost every Saturday night to dance/teach/DJ at the Green Door. Hamilton's Restaurant always a great place to grab a salad or a hotchee dog. 🌭
Oh, cool. I didn't know about that group.
Where is the best place to keep track of election results?

I saw one news article where the state claimed that the squirrel had bitten someone. Not substantiated by any other source I could find. 😡
Holding out hope that 1 in 100 scenario means Chase Oliver, but the funniest outcome would be if RFK Jr. got electoral votes in the states where he tried to get off the ballot and then he somehow wound up President. 😂
I get paid on Monday but I fear this mini dip won't last 😞
 Wanna buy an option? 😂

Note to SEC: This is a joke and not an actual offer of a security.
What do you think of adding Nostr support to some RSS readers out there? Does anyone know of a go...
Not a reader, but an interesting place to add support might be Zotero. (It does already support RSS.)

No idea how receptive the project would be, but it is open source.
Can you spot where I added my new Bitaxe Gamma from nostr:nprofile1qqstrcgctzz2d52thl8r3xwt205pswkauep0yexsla83w3fhrcrpxnqpr4mhxue69uhkummnw3ezucnfw33k76twv4ezuum0vd5kzmp0v9mnzp?

After I was diagnosed with diabetes, I started noticing that CVS had a giant candy display right at the counter where I'd pick up my prescriptions.

I switched pharmacies.

Nice! Any idea if it supports exportting from Markdown to PDF etc. from within the app? That part of StackEdit seems to have stopped working recently and I need a replacement for quickly drafting stuff on the go.
The fact that Bitcoiners and TikTokkers use "corn" to mean very different things never ceases to amuse me.

What people don’t realize is if not forced to pay, 99% won’t.

The only reason V4V appears to...
99% of public radio/television enjoyers don't pay, either. But it still works.

You just need the equivalent of tote bags.
That's true for both those who pay and those who don't, though. Better thought of as reducing the quality of the good.
Blessed with one last chance to BTFD.
Gods help me, I'm addicted to this cover version…

Bitaxe pre-sales are the only futures I trade.
In Bitaxe news, BTW, the Ultra I bought from you finally got over a 2 billion difficulty today! It's now caught up to my 2 Supras.

Thanks for reminding me to do my Duolingo practice. ;)

One of these my German will be good enough to listen to the Einundzwanzig podcast…
God himself could resurrect Moses and give him stone tablets with the whitepaper outlining the perfect cryptocurrency and still degens would find a way to shitcoin with it and corporate shills would claim it's a great new "blockchain" technology.

I literally still use it for certain things.
 Is that gross or net?

I've "earned" more than that on my node, but after on-chain fees (and a bit of rebalancing), I'm still in the red.
Making that shirt older than most of the undergrads you meet who can legally drink now. 😂
Pretty embarrassing to see some of my fellow economists signing this letter, even if some of them are the usual statist suspects. https://marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolution/2024/09/scholars-in-support-of-the-moraes-brazil-decision-against-x.html

 Emmerthal.
This is awesome, even though the network at my day job blocks Tor. But my *personal* pain point with Amethyst right now is the way it leaves another window open after playing media. Cost me $40+ in data charges recently because I didn't catch it and it sat there playing a video on repeat… 😭
Is that going to apply to the separate window it spawns?
Might have been a stream. Don't remember exactly what it was. Definitely was from Amethyst, though.

It's not clear to me why Amethyst spawns that separate window in the first place, or why it's so friggin hard to kill. Or why it keeps playing like a zombie even when Amethyst is backgrounded.
Well, I have that set, so we'll see, I guess.

Would rather have Amethyst able to update in the background, though.
In my mind, this is canonically about what happened when AOL added Internet access in the mid-90s. ;)
Just don't tell me your name is "Jim" and expect me to remember that your pronoun is "she". You're lucky if I can remember your name, never
mind another datum.
There are so many indie-published novels with mediocre ratings on Goodreads and Amazon and such, ...
One great sci-fi author who publishes that way and might get lost in the noise is Greg Egan. He's probably in my top 5 living sci-fi authors, but everything is, like, $4.99 Kindle releases.
What are books that changed your life?
The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind
Dharma Bums is probably my favorite Kerouac. The only one I have any desire to re-read as an adult.
