Exactly that is why whenever the EU has come out talking about CBDC's, they insist so much that their spyware (it's a lot worse than spyware -- we should call it "totali-ware" but I digress) will be distributed through commercial banks, never directly to the serfs' personal wallets.
IMO, the Eurobureaucracy, being the avant-garde of the globalist conspiracy, has become so emboldened these years that they are truly intent on betraying their bankster cronies, once technology makes them obsolete. They're just biding their time because probably they can't go it solo for now.
It's messed up because it is completely fused with the State. It's a structural part of the State in fact. That's why it's irrational and anti-economic.
Any rational investor, even if we ignore a fundamental analysis (which would easily determine that German/EU companies are SHIT because that's what they produce), would be insane to invest in anything European, with our predatory, destructive, anticapitalistic fiscal and economic policies.
If I have money, Europe is the last place I will park it in, even if I have to pay exit taxes and penalties. In the long run it's worth it.
Other than a "snatch" with the initial set up that caused me to lose some sats with an "involuntary" channel opening (due in my opinion to very poor onboarding), it *is* really easy to set up and maintain, truth said.

Estimate by Colby Covington is $20 million. He doesn't believe it'll be a clean fight, but we'll see. It would be extremely easy to spot.
That said, there's this clip of a reporter asking Tyson about "legacy" and he goes on a rambling tirade about how legacy don't mean shit because once dead, you're dead so fuck legacy. Quite interesting.
But I still think he's going to knock out that clown.
@telluride here contends that Paul is the one throwing the fight, so there's a rematch which would be more lucrative.
I see I'm in the minority who still wants to believe 😂
This (Vitalik's point of view) is the typical output of an immature, self-centered, mind. Which is the archetype of the modern false "progressive", of the "woke".
They analyze the data of what happens to a family (yes, I know that you can be "with kids" and not "coupled") as the sum of two individuals, instead of as a unit. Not only that, but they also frame it as a struggle of *opposed* individuals, in which one "progresses" at the expense of the other, instead of as two individuals cooperating for the progress of both.
That's what Marx taught, so those are the only terms in which they are capable of thinking.
With the wrong framework, it's to be expected that they always, systematically, get the wrong answers.

This by the way was EXACTLY what they just did with that repulsive ad that the Harris campaign excreted a few weeks ago. The one in which they intended married women to lie, betray and belittle their HUSBANDS -- for Kamala.
OK I can't keep up with the Nostr drama. What's the conclusion? Do we hate Alby or not?
Just saying, because I just recently installed Alby Hub (which wasn't a happy process, as I posted), Alby extension is how I log in, Alby wallet is what I use for LN, and my NIP-05 Nostr address is with Alby too.
It's nothing insurmountable I guess. I just want to know if I should switch or not.
#Ask_Nostr #AskNostr
I totally get you.
Setting up Alby Hub was very simple though, and I don't pay anything. I just run it on the same 10 year old machine on which I run my BTC node. It doesn't seem to affect or take up resources significantly and I have one channel that doesn't represent any work (at least until now).
Opening that one channel was excessively expensive since it's just for the zaps here, and it was *not* something I would have done had I known better -- I blame their poor onboarding for it. But I think you're savvy enough to save yourself that type of problem.
Me neither!
I decided to run my own node and now to set up Alby Hub because I'm a curious person and to impress my friends. But I totally know it's overkill too.
Tyson, KO with a 66% probability.
I've been watching videos about this clown Paul these days (never seen any of his "fights" or his YT videos), and I simply can't believe he even dares stepping into the ring with Mike.
I mean, I see that his own company is promoting the fight, so, quite sus. But still, if it's a clean fight, he's out.
People who obsess with the age factor and forget about the technique factor prove the know nothing about fighting.
I will give Paul one chance though, which is being able to survive beyond round three. If that happens and as the rounds progress, then his chances of winning by decision grow by a lot.
After seeing how horrible he is, I totally discard that he is able to take advantage of a tired Tyson to knock him out. He just doesn't have what it takes.
This is why as cool as the current internet is, it can never be the solution for truly censor-free, decentralized, permissionless communications of any type, Bitcoin included.
We need P2P solutions, even if we lose all this fancy functionality we have today -- mainly the ultra-high speeds that the current centralized, permissioned, censored infrastructure gives us.
I see. It's funny that all these projects seem to be first and foremost for mobile (Android). I know that most people seem to mainly use YT on their cellphone, but I'm just the opposite and use it 95% of the time on desktop only.
I just installed it on my GOS device. Even though I'm failing at importing my subscriptions, I will definitely use it on it just for the convenience of having both YT and Rumble in the same app.
Yesterday I helped two people buy BTC (on a centralized exchange). They asked. I gave them "the speech" and made them listen to my collection of cautionary tales, and only then I showed them.
I'm 100% sure they will miss the peak and sell at a loss, or maybe they even sell next time we have a dip.
Reminder that if you're "convincing" people to get into BTC now, you're not "orange-pilling" them. Convinced them to stay during the bear market, and we can talk about it.
I've never understood how any *good faith* progressive person can possibly be against this.
I have no doubts the intellectual leaders of the fake "progressive" movements are against it because their goal is always and everywhere to turn citizens into cattle dependent on the State by making their lives unsafe (and forfeiting some of them in the process).
In my country, what this woman did would be impossible, since she would not have a firearm that she could legally use to defend herself. Even in her own home. Even if she did have a firearm for "sports" reasons (as I do own several).
Too many *good faith* Americans are way too frivolous about the vital importance of the 2nd Amendment, and refuse to understand that you can't have "common sense" regulation of the right to defend yourself.

Legal liability is inherent to hosting, so that's a valid concern.
That said, there is and will be a whole lot of "illegal" content that's political. Will you censor that too? Or only "adult" content? Just for everybody's education.
CSAM filtering does not work -- can't work -- unless you cast a net that also filters non CSAM content. And in any case it will not save you from "liability" if someone decides you are a target. It's just a tool and an excuse to put hosting agents like you (or Nostr relays, for that matter) in jeopardy so they comply with the political filtering, which is what State actors care about.
It's pretty crazy that we achieved this with the current market cap -- but price action is strictly dependent on how much BTC is on the market.
The halving does cause a supply crunch, that much should be clear by now.

Fuck yeah.
My favorite variation involves a local vermouth from around where I am from that's really red wine-ish, and Aperol instead of Campari. But now you made me wanna try this.
There is a fine line between this very correct statement down here, and the edgy incel pseudo-stoic positions that dominate the right-leaning, young man-focused new internet discourse.

Agreed on being real and consistent with ourselves though. A couple of days ago I reminded everyone that we've being talking about gold's market cap as our natural target -- well, that's $18 T now, and requires a price of $800k.
I don't know if we are even making real gains against gold.
In this case a more realistic (mock) headline would be: "China finds ancient documents that indicate 3rd century BC hut dwelling tribe of fishermen from Manchuria sailed 300 miles close to Japanese island, thus confirming Chinese ownership".

Paul's only option is to tire Mike so much Mike drops his arms AND Paul has the sight to take the opportunity. Mike though only needs to put one in, and Paul leaves the arena horizontally.
I don't know how stuff like this is done, but on top of running your own relay, you would want to have bots (?) mirroring the (suitable) content they like from other platforms.
This is something we should have in general, for for children it would seem especially useful.
I just thought how utterly fucked CoinBase, the Twinkerpinkle twins, Crypto.com are gonna be if the Trump administration makes amends with Binance, and I could help but feel a smile on my face.
Months ago I set up my cousin with everything he needed. Taught him how to use a wallet, how to buy on a centralized exchange and even on Bisq. He did some tiny test purchases. I checks on him this morning. Told me he never bothered again after that.
HFSP is real.
20 years ago, I spent a summer studying in Chengdu.
My Chinese friend, highly educated, who spoke English and had an engineering degree, not only didn't know about Tian'anmen and looked at me like I was crazy at first, and then simply waved my "crazy story" away as an anecdote...
She also told me some the insane version of history that she had been taught and believed 100%: the Red Army had expelled the Japanese from China, after years of fighting them on their own, without foreign help.
The Americans? What did the Americans have to do with the War of Resistance? Mao caused the surrender of the Japanese and sent them packing. The KMT? Well, the KMT was allied with Japan during the war. That's why the Japanese gave them Taiwan.
To make it all even crazier: her parents, who had been members of the Party, had been expelled and lost their positions in some university because they had her -- she was a second child in a "tier 1 city", so she was illegal. They didn't send her to an orphanage or killed her straight away because of who her parents were, but as I said, they did receive severe punishment.
My point being, she considered herself, and really was, quite "anti-government". And still, all she knew was the pile of absolute bullshit propaganda she had learnt ever since she was a child. She could not help it.
A normal dictionary... It's the perfect, child-friendly UI: a box where you input the word you want to know. If you want to make it audio, I guess that's trivial nowadays.
Why make it harder?
