Frak, not even! If it was as easy as three apps we'd have everyone here... it's way more convoluted than that - at least if you want to integrate a lightning wallet, and that's kinda the point after all. It will get better, but don't kid yourself that the average web user can handle this.
GM Nostr - today is set to be a fraking awesome day. With the help of several friends here on Nostr (you all rock!) I was able to finally connect @Coinos to @damus via NWC, activate the ⚡️icon and send sats in Damus. A minuscule win by Bitcoin and Nostr OG standards - but MASSIVE step Fed for my use and enjoyment of Nostr using Damus. Frak yeah #coffeechain #coinos #damus https://image.nostr.build/ea4dd6619a3899d08b5c84e64b76b07f24a0689fda5cc34dae800887a015ec0c.jpg
GM y’all! So, the thing I did differently that I believe made the ⚡️icon appear, was to run the script with Damus closed. Make sense if it’s trying to change a parameter right! Opened Damus after that, and there was the little bugger!
Also had to remember to add my coin.os lightning address in my Nostr profile 😉
Appreciate you all. I might actually write up these steps and publish to share with others!
Letme try again. I think Coin.os takes a few sats off/out of sends, so the number might be diff - either way it should indicate it was from yours truly.
I created a @Coinos account. Sent a few says to it from my Primal wallet. But I don’t see anywhere in Coinos that shows or provides me with an NWC address. What am I missing?
I swear I looked and it was not there before. Okay NWC pasted into Damus (sweaty excited hands) but ironically I don’t see any way or icon to zap notes in Damus. Ugh.
Appreciate all this help tho - seriously!
Right! Yes, restarted Damus. Reinstalled Damus. Hard restarted my iPhone. No dice zapping with @damus
Imagine how much sooner the average person would have given up on this process.
I did the whole cash.me thing yesterday but I can try again. It’s exhausting. Also interestingly, when I paste the NEC link from @Coinos into @damus it shows a relay connection. When I go into settings in Damus and click on zaps, the option to select a wallet includes a bunch of named one, not coinos, no NWC link option and a generic LNLink option - which doesn’t work either.
Begs the question is there any documentation for any of this or is the new “freedom” norm trial and error via people who are willing to help?
I am not running Damus in test flight (beta) rather I am using the iOS App Store version. The script when I run it does not toggle to 1 is stays at 0 which tells me it is not flipping the bit to toggle the icon back on.
For shits and giggles. Deleted Damus app. Did hard restart of iPhone. Download Damus from Apple App Store. Re authenticated. Run the script- result =0. Restarted Damus. Still no fraking zap icon.
You lads are awesome but I am so done for tonight.
and this is why we need a simple, easy to follow, guide on getting started with Nostr and things like NIP-05 verification. I looked when I started and it was not at all intuitive.
BitBees - yes, if you set up a new wallet, you simply add the new lightning address in the field on your profile and save it. That will then replicate across all the clients that pull your Nostr profile. One update, shown everywhere.
The challenge is what wallet to use and picking one that you v=can use on a mobile device, in a browser, and whichever client you prefer (Primal, Damus, Iris, Rabbit, etc., etc.) Some work with certain wallets but not all. There's NWC (Nostr wallet connect) but not all support it. The only way I know of to do this and have thorough control (without a paid subscription service that costs more than your zaps each month) is to install a Lightning node on your own server and manage it. But that is a LOT of work for most people and a total barrier to adoption for many!
TL;DR - my first wallet was via the @primal iOS app. Super easy, up and running and zapping folks in minutes, but I've heard recently no one can get it to activate - so there's that.
I played with Chasu.me wallet which works great, but you actually end up having multiple cashu.me wallets across platforms/clients and multople backups of seed phrases, it was a whole thing. I'm still searching for a simple solution that is cross-client compatible other than setting up my own server/node.
I love Damus and want to make it my primary app, but can’t find a simple lightning wallet that I can use for iOS and browser. Not urgent but would *love* to solve this and be on Damus only.
This is so fraked up! This shit has got to get sorted out. It feels as though rather than build for compatibility, the devs just spin up a new NIP or protocol with a new name and that only works for their wallet.
Am I wrong or is this lightning wallet a total fraking debacle?
I actually wrote a shirt blog post about making my first Kydex sheath for my Fallkniven knife. Had most of the steps, the supplies needed and a link to a few videos I found useful when I started. Here >> https://briangreen.net/kydex_sheath
I actually made a replica out of aluminum so that I could form hot Kydex over it to make snap on protective covers. Worked great, but when I switched to USB-C I didn't have the energy to make a new metal template.

Did y'all read the vulnerability in detail? If you don't have access to near perfect lab conditions and incredibly expensive high-end equipment you cannot do this. In other work, this is a theoretical vulnerability for most. I was able to switch to new Yubikeys, but transitioning my passkeys and other creds was a PITA.
I thought this might be a more tricky question that I at first thought. E.g. analog clock (aka analog bitcoin clock)? But I think it's just "clock" - so yeah, I have them all around the house and one on my wrist. I get to change them all at least twice a year!
