Dammit... I was hoping that was the problem. It makes sense, but it's irrelevant if you have funds in your account. Do you a Cashu account? That's another web-based wallet that offers NWC. If I were you, my next step in diagnosing the problem would be to go to cashu.me, create a wallet, authenticate with either browser extension or your nsec, and enable NWC. Plug the Cashu NWC into Damus and see if the problem goes away. If yes, you know the problem is with Coinos. If no, the problem is related specifically to Damus.
I did the whole cash.me thing yesterday but I can try again. It’s exhausting. Also interestingly, when I paste the NEC link from @Coinos into @damus it shows a relay connection. When I go into settings in Damus and click on zaps, the option to select a wallet includes a bunch of named one, not coinos, no NWC link option and a generic LNLink option - which doesn’t work either.
Begs the question is there any documentation for any of this or is the new “freedom” norm trial and error via people who are willing to help?
What was the result of your Cashu test yesterday? Did you paste the Cashu NWC string into Damus? Was the same problem present, or were you able to zap with the Cashu NWC?
Same result. No zapability in Damus. I’m calling it good for the night. Thank YOU for your patience and help. I’ll try again tomorrow.

I think you have to update your Damus confirmation parameter after you run the script. That's how I read it, at least.
Run the script. Force close the app. Restart. Zap.

Sounds like some deletes and fresh installs might be in order. That and I’m coming in late on this.. which wallet are we using? I’m using Alby.
He's tried both Coinos and Cashu.
I am not running Damus in test flight (beta) rather I am using the iOS App Store version. The script when I run it does not toggle to 1 is stays at 0 which tells me it is not flipping the bit to toggle the icon back on.
And isn't the script intended to be a workaround to App Store's restriction on allowing zaps? That implies that it's intended to work specifically to the app store version. I would try deleting the app, reinstalling from the App Store, running the script again, and seeing if it works. If not, delete the app you have installed and grab the test flight version and see if that works.
Yes. Should work for both. But would definitely start fresh. Takes two minutes.
For shits and giggles. Deleted Damus app. Did hard restart of iPhone. Download Damus from Apple App Store. Re authenticated. Run the script- result =0. Restarted Damus. Still no fraking zap icon.

This is one of the reasons why I hate Apple. When it works as intended, everything is great. But if it requires some special configuration, or special steps to work properly, it just doesn't work. And they lock their products down so tightly that there's almost nothing you can do to finagle it.
That's crazy. Given that you've tried with two different NWC strings, I think you have to pursue Damus as the source of the problem. Maybe there's some bug. If I remember correctly, the only way that Apple would let @jb55 get Damus onto the App Store was to remove the zap icon just like in the above photo in the thread
That is correct. If you are on Damus Test Flight, you can run a script to reenable zaps.
