Woohoo!! “Red meat” is back on the menu! 🥳
I had no idea that Canadian goose breast steaks are so delicious. It’s very much like eating a slightly oiler elk steak. 🤤

It’s that time of year: mice are trying to move into the house. :P
What’s been the most effective bait you’ve used on a snap trap?
I’ve had semi-decent success in the past with half a grape twist-tied to the bait plate. (I read somewhere that they seek out moisture as much as food.) Peanut butter or cheese never seem to work nearly as well.
But I’m eager to try other baits! Or other methods altogether (besides poison or sticky traps).

👋😃 Hello, fellow alt ed advocate! Radical unschooler here. :)
Fairly often I post or tag items with the hashtags #DIY #homeschool #unschool . It’d be great to have others using those hashtags as well.
@e5c81548 — perfect timing, thank you.
Lately I’ve been listening to much less on my phone so I can think and hear life more clearly.
The irony is certainly rich and deep! To seek insights from the same source (podcasts and online-interactions) where I sometimes struggle with a lack of temperance. 🙃

@f9408be4@7192c2c3 — I like the NA art generator because I can see how I’ve progressed over time. And there’s definitely been many peaks and valleys along the way.
I haven’t been putting much time into it for over a year now and this recent trough is getting pretty low. I think my earliest stuff is actually better. 😅
But hey, instead I now know a LOT more about raising chickens and ducks! (Maybe I should try drawing them. 🤔)
@26769ed7 — excellent news! Morrrre ducks! 🤤
How did you catch them for butcher or auction???
They’re tamer than our regular ducks, but they certainly don’t like to be handled. (Chickens are so much easier in that regard!)
@Eòlach — unlikely. 🤞 Our semi-feral adult barn cats (probably cousins of this kitten) get along fabulously with all the poultry. And thank goodness, since felines are vital for keeping rodents out of the feeding areas.
@26769ed7 — a rightful response to such barnyard aggression!
These ‘scovys are only two months old, so will likely only get uglier and meaner. 😅
The guy we got them from said they’re very easy keepers, requiring minimal feed and housing. 🤞
We mostly want them to be self-regenerating, low-maintenance yard (tick!) cleaners, and then harvest one occasionally for the soup pot. And maybe we’ll get extra lucky and be able to find their eggs. 😋
@f9408be4 — NGL, I see ZERO sexual interest on her face.
Looks to me like she’s pretending to pay attention to him while she’s cleaning her teeth and lips with her tongue, probably thinking about how tasty lunch was and wishing she’d had another glass of wine.
I feel bad for any (obviously confused) guy who seriously thinks she’s legit got the hots for ol’ Kev. 😬😅🤣
@c1bd69cb@669563d8 — right?!
I wouldn’t have hesitated to remove that hammer from his hand and then remove the boy from the room.
We’ve never used punishment, AND, at the same time, we also never hesitated to use the protective use of force to enforce important boundaries, like respecting other people’s property.
Gentle parenting should never be unparenting. 🤦🏻♀️ I sure hope this is a fake scene, but I’ve witnessed nearly as bad. 🤪
@57c77796@016edb73@88f6ae9c@20b003c9 —
Hanging out on Wednesday the 18th from about 2pm until whenever works great for me! :D
I’ll head home to bed though, since I live only about an hour away.
@87e0b6e2 — that oh-so-common hunched posture amongst so many young people is very troubling to see. It’s rampant even in the based young men that I know!
@ac377c46 — it sure hits the nail on the head. 😆
I swear it seems like I’ve seen it around since the post-9/11 era, back in the early days of FB groups.
@dabe0ad5@d4f294ac -- totally teeing her up.
And at the same time brushing off the Gay Barack scandal, while seemingly enjoying rubbing it in the faces of those who are suspicious.
"Tom and Rita have been close with the Obamas for quite some time now, and in 2016, Barack even awarded the actor with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
At the time, he stated in his speech that the Forrest Gump alum had 'touched him in a very powerful, personal way.'"
Touched him? 🤨😆
@5a9ad3e3 — not that I’m entirely disagreeing with your point though. Just that a good wife tries really hard not to (obviously) do those things. 😜
@b12d0867
@26769ed7 — well, I’m not quick, so I’ll focus on being “good at getting them to disregard my presence”. 😂
The nets seem problematic and likely to injure. :P
@aba3e4c9 — we’ve not many of those here. (I was sure surprised by the number of slimy bugs at our place back in England! 😝) They get crickets, grasshoppers, ticks…
@26769ed7 — 99% sure, according to the local duck guy I got them from anyways. They’re only two months old, so still not showing many adult characteristics, like the bumbs on their faces.
