Really obscure one for #ThursDeath today, courtesy of a friend who put me onto it.
Lond before Code and Hexvessel there was The Tragedians, and they made one demo of strange kind of #deathmetal prog-whimsy that I've not heard before....

@27e67f00 It is the one with the red-ish bark, which I am told is not the best one, but I'm sure it will still be fine. I have some of the 'invasive' Archangel (with the white line on it) underneath it, but it still makes nice yellow flowers.
@27e67f00 I planted three small bare-root Guelder Roses last winter. They were dirt cheap in that condition. They all grew leaves over the summer, so looking forward to seeing what they do next year.
Ah, its time for some #grindcore is it? #GrindayFriday. Let's go with one of the best grindcore records of all time...."Misery Index" by the mighty Assück.

Whenever I need cheering up, I look at the youtube comment history for Des'ree's "Crazy Maze" and see the bizarre combination of earnest heartfelt comments mixed with references to "Stuart Foot" and "the philosopher"

The brief joy of seeing a headline that says 'Man City beaten' is soon quashed by the realisation that they were beaten by Newcastle, another oil-state sportswashing project.

Why do worms congregate on the top of a compost bin lid (in their hundreds), rather than living in the actual compost itself?

@50b353e9 I like some newer stuff. I don't wanna be like one of those "It was all better back then" guys, but the difference is that the bands were terraforming the sound back then. They're not doing that now (as much), they are working with templates. So that is why the essence feels different. I have heard some good stuff though (the first Neoandertals album is cool), no doubt! Both demos you mention sound good on cursory listen. Ectospire is very Swe-DM
@50b353e9 I can't think of much that sounds like that one... it is unique. You might like the Mass Psychosis "Face" demo which was re-released on a comp CD a few years back.
@50b353e9 Nah that record is just a tribute really... the real magic happened in 1989/90. Their rehearsal tape from that period is pretty special (if you can handle the 'production'). Very experimental at times, would have loved to have heard this released as an album at the time.
@50b353e9 Great isn't it? There aren't many genuinely good #deathmetal covers of pop/rock songs. But this is one of the best, if not the best. Originally recorded way back in 1992.
