Oh I do like dgwood, so easy to grow somewhere moist and easy to  prune. Which species/cultivar did you get? I like Blackthorn but it suckers absolutely everywhere, which is a pain  when there's a cultivated bed nearby

 @27e67f00 It is the one with the red-ish bark, which I am told is not the best one, but I'm sure it will still be fine. I have some of the 'invasive' Archangel (with the white line on it) underneath it, but it still makes nice yellow flowers.
