I don't wanna be like one of those "It was all better back then" guys, but the difference is that the bands were terraforming the sound back then. They're not doing that now (as much), they are working with templates. So that is why the essence feels different. I have heard some good stuff though (the first Neoandertals album is cool), no doubt! Both demos you mention sound good on cursory listen. Ectospire is very Swe-DM
