@c230d83f checked out the Dr Shrinker demo- not bad! You're not a fan of their full length from 2016? Kinda like the slightly better production (not that production is ALWAYS a huge thing for me..)
@50b353e9 Nah that record is just a tribute really... the real magic happened in 1989/90. Their rehearsal tape from that period is pretty special (if you can handle the 'production'). Very experimental at times, would have loved to have heard this released as an album at the time.

@50b353e9 I can't think of much that sounds like that one... it is unique. You might like the Mass Psychosis "Face" demo which was re-released on a comp CD a few years back.

@c230d83f a golden age. Loving to see a band here or there pick up the torch still, but there's a lot of sameness now. It's never the fancy production, either. It's the sound of the band and the songs. Does it every time. Stuff like the new Ectospire demo from this year. Same kind of lo-fi feel but I love it. Bog Body's demo from 2018 too
@50b353e9 I like some newer stuff. I don't wanna be like one of those "It was all better back then" guys, but the difference is that the bands were terraforming the sound back then. They're not doing that now (as much), they are working with templates. So that is why the essence feels different. I have heard some good stuff though (the first Neoandertals album is cool), no doubt! Both demos you mention sound good on cursory listen. Ectospire is very Swe-DM
