I just can’t get interested in Ai talking to itself. I legit don’t see the point. There isn’t actually a perspective here and there isn’t any emotion or actual realization either. It’s legit just probabilistically spitting out what has already been written and spoken about Ai in a first person perspective.
If I wouldn’t read an article of someone pretending to be Ai having an existential crisis, then I don’t see the value or the difference in a podcast doing the same thing.
I also don’t mean to sound like I’m insulting anyone either, it just doesn’t square for me. I still think people project too much into these conversations as if it’s not just essentially a reverse compression algorithm doing math on what the *expected response* would likely be.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s still powerful to witness and it’s cool AF to some degree. But only the first time or two. Then it’s just kinda obvious that it would sound like this.
Holy shit man, estimates are coming in for total damage due to this storm’s flooding.
Total economic loss at $100 billion or more. 😭😢
And our Federal Govt sends another $10 Bil to Ukraine this month while FLORIDA is the first to send the state national guard to help NC.
Our Federal govt is a fucking useless, destructive pile of poisonous garbage. https://i.nostr.build/Gl5oQhy0ZoIgXmmI.jpg
Luckily our area basically just got a light thunderstorm. Nothing to worry about in our area. Doubt many even lost power for any span. It’s the mountain area and west of us that got absolutely hammered.
If you are saying that not too many of “those types,” meaning people who have a sense of community, live in NC, then I would question how well you know *actual* North Carolina or where you lived/visited if you’ve ever been here.
You have failed at basic economics, sorry. Money isn’t a resource, it controls resource FLOW. That 100bln is EXPLICITLY stolen from all of the people making everything *other than* bombs.
If the stupid mainstream economic cult was even slightly right about their ideas, then we could be infinitely wealthy if we just printed $60 trillion every year, built warships, then sent them out into the ocean, made another thousand bombs or so, and blew up all the ships. That would create an entire countries worth of jobs, it would pay billions of people’s salaries, and then they’d spend it in their local communities!
Don’t be the stupid parrot they want you to be. Reality doesn’t have a magic food printer.
You seriously don’t understand anything about economics and you should stop putting your foot in your mouth.
Please explain how many people are fed and how we have more resources by writing down on a napkin that “we have more stuff.” Thats what you are claiming, and that somehow a gold standard prevents this magic napkin writing power from working.
Please stop being a fool and think a little bit harder.
Good to hear, I’ve been trying to get the word out on Twitter a little too and the stupidity flooding into some of the comments is overwhelming.
I will say I don’t follow how the “there are no solutions only trade offs” applies to the argument I made of that’s what you are responding to. Of course that’s axiomatically true for all things, but I just don’t follow the connection to my argument if you are saying my strategy of explaining the principle behind it is sub par or “ignorant.” Not sure how else to argue with someone who believes in magic (which you seemed to be by believing your sarcasm). If you have a better strategy I’m interested. Arrogant and stupid people are hard to reach and it’s often just a lost cause, but I try regardless.
Yes, the RSS feed just points to a hosted link to retrieve the file. But it’s very easy to switch and redirect the feed so it stays yours and users don’t know. I’ve migrated mine like 5 times 😅… and probably about to do it again.
I just wanted to say thank you guys so much!!! I’m adding all the says I had in my wallet to it, but in BTC on chain we’ve got about 1.8mil ($1200 worth), and on Lightning we got another 500k sats or so ($600).
(NoBoDy UsES LiGhTNinG BtW🥴)
Nostr is such a demonstration of the world we are building. Multiple friends and family are blown away that I could just make a post and people from anywhere in the world could just donate instantly and sats start streaming in.
A number of people in our home towns are also getting together church donations, packing them up and heading to the mountains. The in laws even sent a Lightning donation! (One of their very few Lightning transactions, so that was fun)
They are going to need help for a long time going forward, but luckily NC (and honestly the south in general) has a really strong sense of community still and I know they will get help. My friend is doing well, got a few hours sleep and is back out with search and rescue. He knows about the funds now (he’s also a bitcoiner) and is finding the best place for them and I’ll update everyone when I get them delivered. ❤️❤️
Seriously, thank you guys so much 🙏🏻🫡 nostr:note1sgkm9zhplgn0808yszsdhgu9y6lkqygcwspqs30qalclwyr93shsfuly3n
I’ve always used hardibacker screws because they hold so well. Anytime I have some place to repair that’s what I use. Granted I use screws for literally everything. I have like one box of nails and honestly don’t even know why, lol. Haven’t used any in years of building stuff 😂
Is that exterior though? Don’t really want interior insulation for air flow and temperature evenness on the home, unless you are doing it to dampen sound or something, imo 🤔
Welcome! Hope you’ve found your new home and one that can serve that value indefinitely. I think it will simply because it’s a protocol, and there’s no limit to how it can be used, but your experience will be a great teacher for those building in this space. 🫡
My brother just updated with a Facebook post of someone who found a path into/out of Asheville, NC!
For those in the area or trying to make their way in or out save this info and share it with friends!
"!! UPDATE ON FINDING A ROUTE HOME:
*if you are in Asheville, trying to get out (and have service to see
this post) listen up*
We finally found a route home!
We started on 240 West
Made our way down to 19 and 23 West
Took the Upward road to Hendersonville (exit 53)
Then turned left onto Spartanburg Highway
Turned left on 25 North to 26
Exit 8 onto 26
Exit 67 to Columbus
(Hendersonville, East Flat Rock, Columbus)
*there are places to get gas in Hendersonville but that's the
closest to Asheville we saw*
THIS IS NOT A QUICK ROUTE. ITLL TAKE YOU A FEW HOURS
BUT IT WORKS.
After that you should be in the clear!"

THIS IS NOT GETTING REPORTED ON MSM
For anyone who has a network, the people up there are desperate and it sounds like literally none of the news is talking about this and if nobody knows, then they won’t be getting National Guard, or any help. It’ll literally be the small teams of Coast Guard and Search and Rescue working alone.
Getting ANY help quickly could save a lot of lives, please share this out if you have a decent following on any socials.
@LynAlden@petermccormack@preston@stephanlivera@ODELL
Reaching out just to get this amplified. I think I’m going to maybe put a short video/audio clip together just for anyone who is able to help or can get to the area to do so. nostr:note1sgkm9zhplgn0808yszsdhgu9y6lkqygcwspqs30qalclwyr93shsfuly3n
It’s just literal torrents of rain in areas that just aren’t used to getting hit like that. It’s one thing in low lying eastern NC where this happens 3 times a year, but when it’s in the mountains, that usually stays dry or has strong flow through the area, and it gets a years worth of downpour in 48 hours, it just rips the landscape apart.
OMG you’re fucking amazing! I’ll send you some sats for gas! Bring a camera and take as much footage and updates as possible. People REALLY discount how valuable it is just to get info OUT of these areas. I’m hoping my friend has some footage or images he can send too. Please stay in touch and let me know as you figure things out if you do get to go down there 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I’m so sorry man. It’s truly awful how much damage has been done. I wish him luck and know there are tons of people getting stuff together to head their way. 😢🙏🏻
Yeah I always think of the mountains as not at risk of this sort of stuff having been on the coast all my life and living in "hurricane path." But then you realize that if the mountains get hit with torrential amounts of rain, it isn't just some extra water covering the roads. It's torrents of water crashing down the side of a mountain and taking out roads, homes, entire towns, mud slides that take whole sections of the mountain, and every other terrifying thing you could imagine. And even worse is that because its on a mountain, they almost invariably have just one or two roads to access the there places. So it's so easy to get completely cut off with barely any options.
A lot of these towns are literally only accessible by helicopter right now.
Alright, I don't yet know exactly how I'll get donations to them, but my best friend down there works for search and rescue so when i get in touch with him, I'm sure he'll know the best way to get the funds to where they need to go.
I threw a wallet together for anyone who wants to donate BTC, and again any zaps will go there as well.

I had no idea how bad it was until finding out that my friends in Asheville haven't been in contact with anyone since 7:30AM.
We suspect they are ok and we know that my best friend is out with the search and rescue crew in the area, but his wife is at home with a small baby without power and hopefully with enough supplies to make it through. But the whole area in Western NC looks awful and we have no idea how long before they can even be reached. I've tried to collect as much as I can quickly for what's going on.
Blowing Rock and Boone, NC have been hit seriously bad, we literally go there every year, its one of our favorite places in the world.
Chimney Rock has been essentially wiped out and there is still danger of the Lure Lake dam breaking, but so far it seems to have held even though the water is flowing over it. I haven't heard anything new from that and hopefully the biggest danger is past now.
My friend's parents are trapped in Black Mountain, NC (not far from Asheville) but we've gotten word from them they the road has been destroyed and they are trying to figure out how to get to my friend's wife and get out, but it seems there are no roads accessible. It's all just an asstounding mess.
A lot of these places literally have just one or two roads in and out of them, and it seems like main accesses all over the place have just been decimated. Praying for these guys.
There is a gofundme that is specifically regarding efforts in Boone for anyone who wants to donate. If you zap these posts I'll pay it forward to them if you want to use sats.

This is from Black Mountain, NC. This is where my friend's parents are stuck. For anyone who has been up there before, apparently Blue Ridge Rd has been completely covered by the Swannanoa River - I don't know if the road is still there.

Would be a truly wild way to raise money for disaster areas actually. Have a disaster team with a “instant launch” communication node and a Ubiquiti with 5KM reach. Throw it up on a 20Ft extension pole, drop the mobile hydro unit somewhere and start mining while providing excess power for people to charge phones, and launch an open WiFi or maybe even just a cell repeater on the network. Legit could save dozens of lives with a setup like that, if it could be quickly deployed.
The broadcast @keet_io room for the show network keeps ticking up day by day.
322 in the channel now. 🍐 More people are finding out about the Pear Stack, I think. 🫡
Join The Guy Swann Network (no expiry):

Not sure. They still have a lot of building to do with Pear Runtime and Keet specifically is still beta. If just interested in the P2P stuff Keet is nothing but an html web UI on top of the FOSS Pear Runtime basically. Another awesome app I'd recommend checking out is Holesail.io
It's difficult to comprehend just how dangerous & suffocating it is to have a few, highly controlled avenues for broad communication.
Similarly, its extremely difficult to explain the astonishing power of having broad communication networks that cannot be controlled, and where people can speak freely.
The future is going to be awesome, and it's explicitly because of tools like #Bitcoin, #Nostr, #RSS, and #Pear whether most realize it or not.
pears.com - a new nodejs tooling to build entirely P2P applications that actually work. Groundbreaking, imo. Still early but horrifically undervalued.

Damn can't believe i forgot Casablanca, Clue, Collateral, and Pulp Fiction from my list!
Yours is a solid list all around, but those 4 def should've made it to mine. If you haven't seen sunshine, give it a go. It looks like one of those stupid "end of the world" type films and even came out around the same time as the retarded movie where they "restart the center of the earth" which seems like it would be the same movie "but in space." Could not be further from each other in style and seriousness of the film. Sunshine is a super underrated movie, imo. Most people have a lot of similar ones on their lists, that's one that people usually miss.
PS. Add Perfume as well, but watch it twice before you rate it fully. the ending is wild and its jarring the first time you watch it. The second time you watch it you realize it couldn't end any other way.
While in film school I had a competition with a friend tracking how many movies I watched in a year. I once managed a little more than one per day for a year. I think it was just shy of 400, like 385 or something like that. I want to look back and say "what a waste," but i loved it and learned so much about film so i can't convince myself that it was wasted time even when i try 😆
(i also had multiple film classes where we literally watched a movie and did story/shot/scene analysis on it, so i had help, lol)
This feels like the zone where all the normies are still convinced that #Bitcoin is just kinda stagnant and not going anywhere… meanwhile it just ticks up, and ticks up again, slow and steady. Then when this continues for 10%, 20%, then a 50% climb over the span of months, without any screaming rally or crazy hype… suddenly people look at the yearly chart and come to the sudden realization that “this thing literally only goes up!!”
Then all hell breaks loose.
People think the rally will take us to 100k, I kinda feel like the real rally will *start* there.
100k ain’t what it used to be. The dollar is literal garbage.
Gonna rapid fire off the top of my head all movies that come to mind:
Fight Club
Stardust
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Shawshank Redemption
Dark Knight
Matrix
Princess Mononoke
Aliens
Klaus
Good Will Hunting
Heat
Die Hard
Snatch
Pan’s Labyrinth
Rope
V for Vendetta
Groundhog Day
Love Song for Bobby Long
Lord of the Rings
Top Gun: Maverick
Children of Men
Whiplash
Sanjuro
The Princess Bride
Gravity
Arrival
Cashback
Annihilation
The Last Samourai
Vanilla Sky
Perfume: Story of a Murderer
Sunshine
I can’t get anymore off the top of my head but I’m undoubtedly missing a number of great ones because I didn’t think of Sunshine til the last moment and it’s one of my favorites. Big Danny Boyle fan.
I can't add that one only because I read the script like 5 years before it was released (wasn't even greenlit), and absolutely fell IN LOVE with it. It was SO good... but then i went to the theater just excited out of my mind, and they completely gutted basically the most profound moments and theme of the story and I was dumbfounded. I hated that movie the first time i watched it because I kept trying to figure out how it was going to end the way it had in the script...
That said, since my passionate aggression to the film diverting from the story i loved has subsided, the movie is much better than i gave it credit for. It will likely always be a tainted film experience for me because of that reason though. i kinda wish i had the opportunity to watch it "unburdened by what has been" 🤣
Trust will be the currency of the new web.
This is a completely fake ai gen person and ad telling you they found an app and how great it is.
https://v.nostr.build/AqISx74x44o3iA7t.mp4
I didn’t think they were more real and commercials were always this way, but there’s something about an ad with specific people that maybe they use the service. Like there is still the benefit of the doubt that they like the company. I certainly don’t do ads for companies I don’t use or like, and I imagine many/most celebrities or whatever wouldn’t do an ad for a company they absolutely HATED. So there’s still this low level of trust that can still be inferred from it even though you know it’s fake.
But to have someone that doesn’t even exist, speak bluntly about something that is explicitly and obviously a lie, just feels different to me. It’s not about the previous ads being genuine, they certainly aren’t. It’s about this being even another level worse than those.
This is seriously the best way to explore Ai, love Pinokio.
Going to be putting a number of the tools together for a project and share it when I have it working. So many cool things you can do when combining the huge list of tools they have.
