Does the podcaster's registered domain mostly function as a door greeter that points listeners to the desired audio file stored on their hosting provider's server?

So if the hosting provider got raided and shut down, the podcaster would need to have a local backup of everything so they could re-upload to a new hosting provider?

 Yes, the RSS feed just points to a hosted link to retrieve the file. But it’s very easy to switch and redirect the feed so it stays yours and users don’t know. I’ve migrated mine like 5 times 😅… and probably about to do it again.
