This is my favorite political meme today.

That's because mentally healthy people move on. What's the reason for talking about the pandemic anymore unless you think it was fake and have an axe to grind?
We dont need to recreate the leader/follower dynamic of Twitter to be successful. Reddit and even Facebook worked great as just a way to discuss topics or keep up with friends. Twitter is a weird-ass anomaly. Even the term "follower" has weird culty undertones to it.
IMO, it's irresponsible to convince non tech savvy people into running a lightning node. If you don't know how to manage and back up a Linux server, you're seriously playing with fire putting money on one.
Just use a damn mobile wallet or something.
Nah, losing your money on a mismanaged node is a far higher risk than using a custodial wallet, depending on how sophisticated the user is.
It's been a while since I've set up my node, though. Maybe the newer software is a lot easier/safer.
At this point, I just Uncle Jim my friends. I have a fairly decent routing node set up and just have them connect to my lndhub instance with Zeus. Ezpz, they don't even need to worry about liquidity
Curious to hear if you see any noticeable performance gainz. I never really noticed the difference between SATA and NVMe, myself. But to me, anything faster than spinning rust is basically "good enough" 😅
My NAS is a little bit old, so no nvme for me. I just shoved an ancient SATA SSD in there a couple months back as a cache for all my spinning disks 😁.
Hoping the price of spinning NAS drives drop soon. I'm running out of space 😨
I've been trying to decide whether I want to go the second-hand route. It's *probably* fine, since the whole point of a multi-bay NAS is redundancy, but it still feels wrong
My longest running Linux box is a pi hole! Been running it on a pi 3b for something like.. 7 or 8 years? Great little box.. I never have had to touch it outside the initial configuration.

I always wondered why the D and R wings switch every so often. I'm seeing it happen before my eyes.. Actual progressives get kneecapped by the DNC so they go to the other side 🤔
Weirdly enough, the beefy 5-layer is my measurement stick for inflation. When I was a poor college student in the early 2010s, a couple 89 cent burritos for lunch kept me going! Funny to see someone else point out the same thing I have been. 😂
Oh man. Sometimes I wonder if the geometric squiggles were a mass hallucination, but occasionally I'll see proof it exists and be reminded it was, in fact, real.
Just like phone booths.
Some people are freedom maximalists and/or libertarians, up until it bumps up against their weird sense of morality.
Legalize all drugs, and let people view whatever imagery they want, I say.
I run TinyTinyRSS on my server at home, and use the app on mobile. My favorite feature is how it automatically marks articles as "read" when you scroll past them. Saves a ton of time.
Most news sites worth a shit have an RSS feed. I exclusively use Reddit through RSS. No algo, no ads, just new posts that I can quickly scroll through.
Re: crypto people not realizing they're part of a grift;
This is spot-on! I've met bitcoiners (ex-crypto employees) that have shared with me the same sentiment. Even worse, it's just the code monkeys and marketing people that believe they're doing good, the founders are well aware that the whole thing is a grift.

Have you watched the Making Of for this show? The whole team wasn't sure it would catch on. The idea of replacing Bruce with a young batman seemed really scary at the time
Just as you were reading off the boost from this episode talking about fountain's crashiness, mine crashed! It seems to only happen if I listen while I'm charging my phone. Wonder what could be going on there?

I always laugh at the so-called "sovereign" LARPers that love oil/gasoline. You need *so* much infrastructure for that shit to even exist. True sovereignty is tossing some solar panels and batteries on your home. At least those will last a while.
I can't, but it's not for the reason you think.. I sold my car during covid and don't even think about fuel anymore 😅. Ci can't even ballpark the price for you at this point.
I have one of these and it's my favorite appliance! I only wish it had a little esp32 in it so I could use home assistant to set the temperature in the morning.
