Sourdough advice: don't do like me, keep a backup.
Either in a cup in the fridge (lasts weeks to months), or dehydrated (lasts forever). This way, if you lose your main culture, you can quickly resuscitate it. I had a lot of work recently and no time to properly take care of mine, which got mold: there is no coming back from this :(
I started a new one but I will be now a few weeks without bread :'(

I just published my first PyPI package, a rust/python package built with maturin and automatically deployed by the GitHub CI for windows/macos/linux :)
I am extremely satisfied of how well the building and publishing pipeline is working, and impressed of how easy it is! I was expecting it to be an excruciating cross-compilation nightmare, that I could only target one or two targets, and that I'd forget how to do it every time… No: I just push a tag!
Next step: migrate to GitLab or Codeberg :)
@c74770b5 Usually there are one or two other reviewers too, who do their work correctly and give a bit more detail. But when the other two reviews are mixed, and the editor rejects the paper, I feel frustrated that one of the three reviewers gave a blank statement instead of actually reviewing the paper. Either it could have tipped the scale in the other direction, or at least it would have given me more points to improve about the paper, which is always good.
@192e2b92@b0e28a57 I am not sure I can recommend anything yet, given how new my bookwyrm account is, but there is a list of servers there: https://joinbookwyrm.com/ I joined the largest one (bookwyrm.social), just to discover how things work, and thinking I can probably move later if needed.
I am still figuring out how things work, but I just imported my GoodReads profile into BookWyrm and I am thrilled to now be sharing my reading interests with the Fediverse rather than with Amazon! :)

@9a803a33 I fully agree. The only problem with mechanical pencils is that you can only have 0, 1, or not enough (some would say "too many", but they just don't know)
@c74770b5 What I find the most unprofessional are the one-paragraph reviews, copy-pasted from review to review, usually saying the paper is great without having read it and without saying anything specific about the paper at all.
@01d883e5 I know nothing about yoyos except for my childhood yoyo toy which looked very different, but I am curious: are yoyos actually small diabolos?
