Oddbean new post about login | logout @c74770b5 What I find the most unprofessional are the one-paragraph reviews, copy-pasted from review to review, usually saying the paper is great without having read it and without saying anything specific about the paper at all.
@e3c6d923 I'm assuming this is on a paper the reviewer accepts without revisions - do you find this hinders or slows the publication process?
@c74770b5 Usually there are one or two other reviewers too, who do their work correctly and give a bit more detail. But when the other two reviews are mixed, and the editor rejects the paper, I feel frustrated that one of the three reviewers gave a blank statement instead of actually reviewing the paper. Either it could have tipped the scale in the other direction, or at least it would have given me more points to improve about the paper, which is always good.
