@Gzuuus has already made some progress in this direction; it was a good starting point. There is more that can be done here. He is also working on an API, which might be available across all major clients.
The goal is to improve discoverability on nostr.
The ability to follow hashtags has already improved discoverability for me. I strongly believe that incorporating a simple tab for trending hashtags will not only enhance discoverability but also facilitate organized discussions on topics, & make nostr way more interesting.
Devs should think about it, I will have it on NostrNet.work very soon. π€
I absolutely love it. I think this is exactly what we need; it's simple. I appreciate the simplicity. Are you still working on it? I was also planning to build something like this. I believe with a bit of redesigning and a proper way to interact with trending posts, it can become a very interesting discovery app.
Sounds great. Take your time. Whenever you start working on it, let me know, and we can collaborate on integration.
Right now, I will look into it and build something temporary on NostrNet. In the future, I aim to make that discovery tab more open to 3rd party stats providers.
That seems like the right direction. Whenever you build something like that, just let me know, and I will create an interface for it on NostrNet. I think other clients will also start implementing it; @Vitor Pamplona was also talking about it.
What has Julian Assange really done? He is literally being punished for engaging in real journalism.
He reported about despicable war crimes committed by the US and other countries, and now they are making an example out of him.
It's happening in front of our eyes, and we are not able to do anything about it. It's an absolute shame.

NostrNet AI is now live with Gemini Pro and Gemini Pro Vision models.
It is capable of answering all kinds of questions and analyzing pictures with customizable settings. The personal data training feature is coming soon. No login is required.

I studied and worked in the UK for a long time, and every year I see things getting worse, crime is out of control, & weird knife culture. I have no plans to come back; I will probably go to the UAE or Qatar. They really seem like interesting places.
We're approaching a pivotal debate, perhaps the most critical one yet:
Accelerationists advocating for advancements like transhumanism, brain implants, AGI, and space exploration, will clash with Decelerationists, reminiscent of Ted Kaczynski's philosophy, opposing modern tech. The decelerationist movement is poised to gain more traction, especially given the rapid pace of development.
The trajectory we're on indicates that this debate is imminent and will wield considerable influence in shaping our future.
One of the most fascinating aspects of octopuses is that they separated from us 600 million years ago. Even though we evolved independently, we both managed to develop a high level of intelligence separately & in a very different way.
This suggests that if there is life in the universe, there is a high chance it may be conscious and intelligent.

Okay, I watched this with an open mind. I'm not an expert, but I have read some books, so I will try to present the academic side of it.
The difference lies in the nature of biological systems like cells and DNA compared to man-made ones like machins, equation & numbers. Unlike computer programs or machines, DNA defines structures, not specific instructions, leading to adaptability.
Cellular machinery operates in a directed chaotic manner, with a small functional part amid randomness. The idea of an "optimal" sequence is context-dependent, influenced by the environment.
For instance, sickle cell anemia's impact varies based on malaria prevalence, illustrating the complexity of biological systems.
Note: I am not arguing that it will not be possible in the future to define it properly in mathematics term s, but right now, I don't think it is possible, especially when it involves this level of randomness.
Personally I understand that Darwin's theory is not 100% correct, and he overlooked some aspects, we know this for sure, I also believe there is more complexity to it.
However, on a fundamental level, it appears to be a more logical model. While we have discovered other factors, they still seem to align with Darwin's framework. I haven't encountered a stronger case so far.
He definitely would have made some kind of deal. He seems like that kind of guy. And I really believe that it will be the best thing for Ukraine & west to sit at the table, negotiate with Russia.
So, you're saying there were sub-species of humans that evolved very separately or in isolation from each other. Some mixing occurred in Africa, but it wasn't a fundamental change. We are still quite separate from each other, but it doesn't deny evolution as a whole.
Am I understanding it correctly?
There is a basic consensus in the scientific community that there were other species close to humans, such as Neanderthals and Denisovans. It's generally understood that these species went extinct, with little bit of mixing but this video suggests we still have sub-sub-species, who evolved separately, which contradicts mainstream evolutionary biology beliefs.
Btw thanks for suggestion I like these kind of documentary. I will definitely watch it.
I don't believe humans were ever monkeys. We were our own species that evolved over time, changing characteristics, and monkeys are the closest relatives to us.
I watched half of the video, and to be honest, I don't know much about this particular topic. However, I'm aware that politics significantly influences evolutionary biology. It's quite interesting, and I plan to learn more about it.
In my childhood, I used to interact with the monkeys near the temple in front of my house. The more you engage with them, the more fascinating it becomes. You start to glimpse the complexity of their thinking. They understand us more than we realize.
I'm a very simple person. Apart from bugs in my projects that I'm working on right now, I don't really have a lot of problems yet, fortunately. π π
Can someone suggest a good ASIC miner?
It should be low maintenance, preferably a little bit silent. Earning is not the goal; I'm doing it as a hobby. What would be a good starting point where I can also learn?
#asknostr
I was attempting that, and it's quite challenging. So, I will be working on it with Gemini.
This will focus on private tasks like TTS, PDF summarizer, Basic Q/A etc., using small, task-specific language models with WebGPU.
Hashtags can truly transform our interactions on Nostr in a positive manner. In this scenario, we should provide users with a variety of sorting and moderation tools, but all these tools should be in the hands of users. They should handle their own moderation.
You can make it a paid relay only, and that alone makes a lot of difference. You should be able to moderate keywords in trending. In the future, we can also have a web of trust and proof-of-work like solutions to solve those problems.
But right now, we need some kind of starting point. There are solutions to these problems but of course it will take some time.
