I believe with a bit of redesigning and a proper way to interact with trending posts, it can become a very interesting discovery app.

I did the project for the same thought, to improve the discoverability of the topics used in relays The mechanism is simple and can be greatly improved by including other metrics and parameters to take into account. The code is open source too, so if it helps you that would be great :)

Right now, I will look into it and build something temporary on NostrNet. In the future, I aim to make that discovery tab more open to 3rd party stats providers.
