Chimpanzees share approximately 98.8% of their DNA with humans, making them our closest living relatives.

They are very fascinating animals. I see apes very differently than other animals.

And 70% of our DNA is shared by worms. This explains a lot.
That's probably because we all came from the same source, so we have the same fundamental building blocks. We even share some DNA with plants.
The double take for the fistbump is rad 🤜 🤛

So, you're saying there were sub-species of humans that evolved very separately or in isolation from each other. Some mixing occurred in Africa, but it wasn't a fundamental change. We are still quite separate from each other, but it doesn't deny evolution as a whole.

Am I understanding it correctly?
This sounds like this documentary on Netflix. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt27837467/

A small graveyard of human like bones found but they aren’t actually from our line of evolution, suggesting a related but different species that took a different evolutionary path.
There is a basic consensus in the scientific community that there were other species close to humans, such as Neanderthals and Denisovans. It's generally understood that these species went extinct, with little bit of mixing but this video suggests we still have sub-sub-species, who evolved separately, which contradicts mainstream evolutionary biology beliefs.

Btw thanks for suggestion I like these kind of documentary. I will definitely watch it.
Maybe watch the video then you better understand the point

I watched half of the video, and to be honest, I don't know much about this particular topic. However, I'm aware that politics significantly influences evolutionary biology. It's quite interesting, and I plan to learn more about it.
whoops i didnt know it was the same video I was posting...
 mebe this can assist:

not an endorsement, its just quite data heavy so perhaps a good source...
You can only understand this when you’ve personally interacted with an ape yourself. I will always remember my first time and it was a lot different from other animals - totally agree
Thank you so much for sharing this!

I haven't had the opportunity to interact with monkeys in this way yet, but at least I can get a small taste of what it would be like. It's another example for me of how great this community is here on Nostr.
Imagine thinking you evolved from monkee lmao
I don't believe humans were ever monkeys. We were our own species that evolved over time, changing characteristics, and monkeys are the closest relatives to us.
 Ok
It would be a lot of fun to hangout with a chimpanzee for a day.
In my childhood, I used to interact with the monkeys near the temple in front of my house. The more you engage with them, the more fascinating it becomes. You start to glimpse the complexity of their thinking. They understand us more than we realize.
Very cool experience being able to interact with those creatures like that.

We can learn so much about reality and ourselves interacting with other beings.

They can even learn to engage with our ritualized behaviors, like fist bumps, waving hello, shaking hands etc. and in proper context. Highly intelligent.
