Saw a Grand Designs episode that was reno-ing a folly into a full time home. It would be hilarious to say you live in a tiny home that’s also a castle.
When I was a teenager if you could order a real drink convincingly at a bar you wouldn’t get carded. I was watching an indie film one night with a Smirnoff placement and so there was a small exchange about a martini order. I rewatched that scene until I had the order down. It was a Smirnoff martini, 3 olives, a little dirty. I was able to order it without getting carded. Didn’t take long for a bartender to suggest I try Grey Goose instead. So then I was a 16 year old drinking Grey Goose Martinis with 3 olives, a little dirty. Got the nickname martini chick. Then I got older and tried things I actually like the taste.
Also the older I get the less I care about not knowing about something. So if a friend has a drink I’ve never tried I just ask to try it. Also tastes change over time. Try new drinks as you will. Also I’m not a big fan of feeling inebriated so I love a good mocktail. I’ve never had a Pimm’s Cup or even a G&T. I always wanted to try those in London/ UK because they seem like British drinks.
A little dirty in a martini just means a bit of olive juice added. I’ve also seen some people swish a martini glass with beer, which is actually delightful. The olives are as clean as bar olives can be and my favorite part. Last time I ordered a martini I think I had one sip and the olives while wondering how I ever stomached martinis.
The reality is we decided freedom of speech does not protect all speech. One person’s freedom of speech doesn’t mean another can be subjected to hate speech, slander, libel, etc. It is a constant delicate balance to protect everyone’s rights to live freely.
