Was macht ihr?

I have reduced my digital advertising exposure to a minimum - very liberating 🤓:
- no more linear TV and no more commercials for years
- switched from Google Android to @GrapheneOS - no more mobile operating system tracking, no more Google data mining for ads in God mode
- switched from Google Chrome to Brave Browser (mobile/PC) / Vanadium => cookie tolerance and tracking in settings reduced as far as possible
- watch YouTube only via Brave Browser => blocks all advertising
- Accounts for all meta products deleted and apps removed (Whatsapp, FB, Insta)
- Checked all Android apps for trackers and permissions on https://exodus-privacy.eu.org/en/
=> deleted many apps & open accounts in browser only, because almost all apps track in order ro sell data to multiple data brokers
- switched to privacy email services @Tuta
and @Proton Mail to avoid email tracking
- use hide-my-email aliases from @Proton Mail for commercial burner log-ins
- Social media 90% Nostr / 10% X (twitter only in browser)
- only in-podcast and in-video advertising from content creators remain. Understand that they do it for monetization, but I always fast forward. Sorry, not sorry.
- I send V4V for pods that are V4V only
Our podcast @Nodesignal Podcast is Value 4 Value only. It works without advertising.
Be the change you want to see!

I watched the HBO ‘Money Electric’ documentary. Yes, it was entertaining. However, compared to documentaries like ‘Human B’ and ‘Mysterium Satoshi’ (arte), which each attempt to approach an essence of Bitcoin in an individual way, it is very superficial.
It seems to me that the real intention of the filmmaker was to document the nation-state adoption of Bitcoin over the course of the past 3-4 years. Hence the many shots with Samson Mow and Prince Philip.
As there hasn't been much news about nation-state adoption since El Salvador, the film footage that was recorded probably didn't provide that much after all.
So a new (old) story had to be found: ‘Who is Satoshi?’
Bitcoin is so endlessly interesting, its technology is a marvel, its social layer is so diverse and full of enthusiastic individuals who want to change the world for the better. And all the filmmaker can think of is 'Who the fuck is Satoshi!?!'
Tell me you don't understand Bitcoin without telling me you don't understand Bitcoin - by pseudo-investigatively pursuing this question and clumsily confronting your Satoshi candidate, yes, Peter Todd, with your supposed revelations using thin arguments.
Had the author of the documentary used his time-consuming research to really dive deeper into the essence of Bitcoin, had he tried to understand what gift Satoshi gave the world, then he would have treated the character Satoshi and his creation Bitcoin with more reverence and focused the documentary more profoundly.
If you haven't seen the documentary yet, save yourself some time and watch “Human B” or “Mystery Satoshi” again. Or simply read a good book like the “Genesis Book” by Aaron van Wirdum. After reading this deep dive into the prehistory of Bitcoin, it becomes clear that there are many relevant facts on the path to the creation of Bitcoin - but the question of who Satoshi ultimately is is not one of them.
The crucial thing is that Satoshi did what was necessary after he launched a new, decentralized, global, inflation-resistant and censorship-resistant money - he kept his pseudonymity and ultimately disappeared.
Much more interesting is the question of where I got the documentary without an HBO account. LOL.
100%
Pseudonymity is and has always been a key feature of the Bitcoin privacy model.
This should apply to your own pubkey and identity as well as Satoshi's. If Satoshi had wanted to reveal his identity, he would have done so. It is a matter of decency to respect this.
I am so tired of this KYC mentality, which is also inherent in the documentary.

If the state forces you to only use fully KYCed paper bitcoin on some centralized fully suveilled custodian exchange, this ain't Bitcoin for sure.
HOWEVER, If you can privately flip a coin to generate a seed, use FOSS wallets and DIY signer, verify your txs on a node with the software of your choice, run coinjoins, YES, it is Bitcoin.
If Bitcoin loses its dissident-money qualities, we will lose it in its form as fuck-you-money. MAKE BITCOIN FUCK-YOU-MONEY AGAIN

Besides my Bitcoin node, I want to self-host more stuff (PW-Manager, SimpleX, file Sharing, music/video, Nostr, google docs equivalent, etc.).
I am torn between yunohost on a vps and @start9 on a local mini server.
Ideally, I move my node from my raspiblitz to the new instance. But not a must.
What are your recommendations?

“A lot of people automatically dismiss e-currency as a lost cause because of all the companies that failed since the 1990’s. I hope it’s obvious it was only the centrally controlled nature of those systems that doomed them.”
Satoshi knew this and acted accordingly. Freedom Tech can't be centralized if it wants to remain Freedom Tech.

After weeks of busy business trips, I had the perfect me-time today.
I hiked alone to a peak in the Alps, listened to 3 Bitcoin podcasts, then enjoyed the peace and quiet and was happy about life, my family, my relationship and joy, about our health and about the fact that Bitcoin exists. Life is good.
