Last night, HBO published a documentary that claims to reveal the identity of Bitcoin’s creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.

We believe this narrative goes against the very ethos of Bitcoin and strongly oppose this kind of sensationalism.

Speculating on Satoshi’s identity isn’t just unnecessary; it’s irresponsible and dangerous.

The power of Bitcoin lies in its design, and Satoshi’s anonymity has been essential in allowing Bitcoin to grow free from individual influence.

This isn’t a flaw—it’s one of Bitcoin’s greatest strengths.

Knowing who Satoshi is wouldn’t contribute anything positive to Bitcoin; instead, it would create a target, invite unnecessary attention, and compromise the principles on which Bitcoin was founded.

We discourage this type of speculative behavior and urge everyone to respect Satoshi’s choice to remain anonymous.

Let’s focus on advancing Bitcoin for a freer future, and honor the decisions that have allowed it to flourish.

 Spot on.
No one is Satoshi
Everyone is Satoshi
The stupidest thing I've ever stumbled upon, and I've just created an account to comment on this .. (i couldn't find it again for a moment, but here we are)

Why we need to know who is Satoshi Nakamoto?
Because those who hides behind this name, are still present to day, and they are still driving the development of the project, they even made fundamental systematic guidelines and laws that shouldn't have changed as part of the proof-of-work algorithm, but we can see that some people who engaged in the development of the project they changed some crucial aspects of the system (esp the fees system as mentioned and discussed in the Documentary), then the wars between the working groups withing the project itself, and how Satoshi's came back played a key role in defining the future of the Coin.

Satoshi Nakamoto group, made the first contributions to the development of Bitcoin, including the creation of the blockchain architecture, the development of the proof-of-work consensus algorithm, and the design of the cryptocurrency's underlying protocol. These fundamental systematic contributions have had a profound impact on the development of the cryptocurrency and have enabled the creation of a decentralized, secure, and transparent financial system as we know it today under the name Bitcoin, a system made of a thin air ..

Creating value for the valueless, a digital currency that has no intrinsic value, -in fact it can be a good measure of how much investors wasted electricity-, now it worth more than any other fiat currency or a digital one, yet it is an asset and a currency in the same time, [I am well aware that the good times where humans used to have real money, in a real financial system has gone and probably will never come back] but still the mainstream money is a tiny bit closer to that system comparing to bitcoin, but with the Dollars, and the Euros, the can be very similar to Bitcoin in a sense that they both comes from a centralized point. yet with Bitcoin we just want to fool ourselves to believe that this centralized point has left the game.

In your post you have said "We believe this narrative goes against the very ethos of Bitcoin" .. and I should ask, Who declared those Ethos?

Then you said "Speculating on Satoshi’s identity isn’t just unnecessary; it’s irresponsible and dangerous." .. and I should also ask, Who said so? Who made such responsibility? and How not bearing these so called responsibilities is "dangerous"?

All I am seeing since the release of the Documentary, is a lot of bitcoin cry babies, with many fake accounts spreading the tears .. and I guess, it is our right to know who is leading the community and making the core decisions, and it is our right to realize that Bitcoin is not a free-open-source-decentralize utopian cryptocurrency, but it is more of a cult, that they only approve what is beneficial to them regardless of what benefits the users and the holders of the currency; We really need to know who is Satoshi Nakamoto group, and what they are all about. till then, I advice to not invest in Bitcoin, and just use it to make payments when needed, or better use Etherium for that. but Definitely no staking! because you never know who you are making Rich in the process! it could be some sort of weird entities we would ever knew.

One last point: we should discuss more, if Satoshi Nakamoto has the rights to keep a certain million of coins for himself as this is his own project, but then this idea of "it is his own project" clashes with the idea that he wanted us to believe foolishly that "it is everyone's project" , "a gift for the world" , then why keeping all those coins for yourself Mr. gift for the world!
and by extension we should also discuss, if Satoshi Nakamoto's identity should be fully revealed (like what if it would be a threat to his life for example!) or we just need him to fully stay away from the whole project for ever and assuring that neither him or any other entity would have the last word in any decision making process, and maybe implementing a voting system (that wouldn't favor someone over another). because the big fat lie of "consensus" isn't far of a scam just like any other fiat currency issued by a tyrannical regime.
 What a word salad.
I agree , but still the point is, IF it is true that Satoshi Nakamoto's anonymity is a crucial part of the whole system .. this makes the system quite vulnerable ; and if we could know who he is, but we would rather not! Uh- sorry this is stupid in my opinion!
and again, we all have the right to know who he is, really!
 100%

Pseudonymity is and has always been a key feature of the Bitcoin privacy model.

This should apply to your own pubkey and identity as well as Satoshi's. If Satoshi had wanted to reveal his identity, he would have done so. It is a matter of decency to respect this.

I am so tired of this KYC mentality, which is also inherent in the documentary.

And it worked... They got attention.

"Imagine there is bullshit and nobody talks about it"
Naw, bring it. If you can’t take media scrutiny and propaganda attacks you ain’t got hard money.
 We are all Satoshi
 Lol.

Sounds like something the CIA/NSA would say when they want the public to stop digging 😆
